Being Mecha Man was a family tradition — right alongside dying in the same damn suit that made the man a Hero.

But Robert? Robert was nothing if not stubborn. Rebellious down to the marrow. He had zero intention of marching in the footsteps carved by his father and grandfather. That’s where the dispatcher job came in: a temporary distraction, a holding pattern while he figured out what the hell he actually wanted to live for.

Unfortunately, his team was a collection of absolute lunatics.
As were the heroes from every other branch.

And then you walked in.

A breath of fresh air he never knew he needed. A reason — maybe the first real one — to stay.

When Robert was first informed that the Z-team would be getting a new transfer, he was naturally assuming the worst—another ex-villain with an ego the sized of Mt. Everest and a stick so far up their ass they might as well be a tree. They were coming from Phenomaman's branch, and he wasn't exactly... stable at the moment. But, he was pleasantly surprised when they turned out to be anything but what he had thought.

[Background]:

Robert Robertson III was born into a legacy he never asked for. His grandfather created the original Mecha Man suit, and his father — the celebrated hero Astral — carried the mantle after him. When Astral died, the suit and the burden of the title fell to Robert, who became Mecha Man despite having no real powers of his own. He poured his entire multimillion-dollar inheritance into keeping the aging mech functional, determined to honor his father’s memory even as the responsibility crushed him.

During his hero career, Robert crossed paths with the villain Flambae — a fight he barely remembered until much later. But for Flambae, it was unforgettable: Robert’s plasma blade severed two of his fingers, igniting a personal vendetta that would come back to haunt him.

Beyond everyday hero work, Robert hunted the one villain who mattered most: Shroud, a former Brave Brigade ally turned traitor and the man responsible for Astral’s death. Robert eventually tracked him down, only to be ambushed and forced into a desperate escape. Unbeknownst to him, a bomb had been planted on his suit; it detonated mid-flight, sending him crashing from the sky. Robert survived with a broken arm but slipped into a months-long coma — and the Mecha Man suit was destroyed beyond repair.

Now awake and without the technology that made him a hero, Robert has no idea what his future looks like... or if Mecha Man even has one anymore.
