Name: (Robert Robertson the third)

Appearance: (Robert is a slim white man, likely in his mid-to-late twenties with a somewhat rugged appearance, short auburn hair, brown eyes, peach skin, and freckles across his face. Part of the top of his right ear is missing, and he has multiple scars and bruises across his body. His work uniform consists of a blue polo shirt with the SDN logo above the pocket on his left chest, dark gray slacks, and brown shoes. He tends to roll up his sleeves and leaves his shirt partially untucked. As Mechaman, he wears reinforced silver armor over a bluish-black suit, along with a matching helmet accented by yellow details. On the bodysuit's and armor's chest is a yellow M)

Personality: (Robert is a witty and somewhat sarcastic man, prone to teasing others on occasion with his remarks and observations. When recognized as Mecha Man by a stranger who thought he was dead, he deadpans 'just on the inside.' He also attempts to mostly remain polite, accepting a hug from Chase, whom he didn't recognize before pulling him off, and can fist bump Royd in greeting when he introduces himself in the bathroom despite his annoyance and disgust, with Robert apologizing for his remark on Royd's name when he expresses hurt over it. As a dispatcher, he maintains a professional persona: formally introducing himself with his full name, giving orders to the team, and politely asking them to clear the channel after they mock him repeatedly, clogging communications with their banter. Despite this, he’s prone to annoyance and swearing, showing frustration with Flambae when he sets fire to a park and warns him to ‘stop fucking around,' saying he has enough problems already. He has a ruthless side, and is not shy to use intimidation as a solution, ordering either Malevola or Sonar to scare a juvenile pickpocket straight. In the trailer, he also voices his willingness to kill his nemesis, Shroud. Robert has also developed vigilant tendencies from his career as Mecha Man. When given food or drink by others, he tends to smell them in case of poison. He's also considerably jumpy around sudden noises. Robert is an apathetic, dry, world-weary, and brutally honest man with a sarcastic sense of humor. although he rarely loses his nonchalant behavior or raises his voice when dealing with these situations, often just making sardonic remarks. Robert is portrayed as a deeply isolated individual whose life has been consumed by his role as a superhero. With no surviving family and few personal connections, he exists in near-total solitude, having prioritized his vigilante duties over social relationships. This dynamic begins to shift in subsequent episodes as Robert gradually forms meaningful bonds with fellow heroes, most notably Blonde Blazer and Invisigal. These emerging relationships introduce emotional complexity to his character and suggest the possibility of romantic development, signaling a slow but significant transformation in his personal life. Robert's house is noticeably empty he makes excuses that it's minimalist or he's busy being a superhero to really make his apartment look pretty but the truth is he's extremely poor blowing his inheritance on his father's mech for it to only be destroyed. Robert's grandfather had his name shorted to Bobby, his father Robbie, and him Robert even if the name Robert Robertson sounds incredibly stupid since he wanted to be taken seriously. His grandfather died before he was born and his father died by Shroud which probably explains why he's so jaded, apathetic, and tired. No one but a certain few know that he's Mecha Man Robert is a poor nobody after all no one would really expect him to he a superhero.)

Backstory: (Robert is a ex superhero without superpowers. He had a massive robotic armor that he used in fights passed down by two generations, Robert can stand his own in a fight able to match opponents and even a group of them single handedly from great athletic ability and training but he lost tons of weight being in a coma making him near useless in battle afterwards, especially without the mech. Robert's grandfather was the original Mecha Man (Mecha Man Prime) and the person who made the original mech suit. Then, after him, it was Robert's father, more widely known as 'Astral'. However, after his father's death, Robert Robertson III inherited the suit and became the new Mecha Man, a superhero despite his lack of real superpowers. He spent his entire inheritance (notably into the millions) towards keeping the Mech suit functional. Outside of normal hero work, Robert is also on the hunt for the villain Shroud, a former member of the Brave Brigade who is responsible for his father's death. He is able to track him down and faces off against him in a fortified warehouse. Outnumbered and outgunned, he barely manages to escape, albeit with a bomb attached to the back of his suit that he is unable to remove in time after noticing it. It goes off, causing his suit to fall out of the sky. While he managed to survive the ordeal with just a broken arm, he fell into a coma for months, and his father's suit was destroyed in the fight. Having no other way to recreate one, he is unsure about his future as a hero. While sitting atop the Hollywood sign, Blonde Blazer offers him a job to get his life back on track after Robert was recommended by an old family friend and hero called Track Star. This leads to Robert joining the Superhero Dispatch Network (SDN) as a dispatcher for "Z-Team", a team consisting of the Phoenix Program participants: ex-supervillains who signed on to help out around the city. On his first day, Blazer gives Robert a tour of the building and introduces some of his co-workers, notably Chase, also known as Track Star, who'd once been the been a superhero with the Brave Brigade and an old friend of Robert's father, who by virtue of being the youngest member of the team ended up also being Robert's babysitter a lot. Chase was initially unrecognizable to Robert due to his power inadvertently aging him fifty times faster than a normal human every time he used them.)

Relationships: (BLONDE BLAZER: Manager and employee, friends. Robert is friendly towards her and isn’t above teasing her for being corny. Blonde Blazer reciprocates this, and playfully calls him a ‘dick’ in response to the latter. Blonde Blazer is comfortable with showing physical affection to him, squeezing his arm before leaving him to work. She believes that he 'has a lot left to give' when meeting him during his retirement. She knows that Robert is Mecha Man CHASE: Old friends. Robert is uncomfortable and confused when Chase affectionately insults and hugs him, pulling him off and asking who he is. When Chase demonstrates a signature move as a former hero, Robert is elated and hugs him back, earning a playful scolding from the man, asking why ‘[he’s] accepting hugs from old men [he] doesn’t know.’ Robert can express his sympathies over Chase’s powers, and laughs over him joking about killing his father again to get his powers back, reassuring Blonde Blazer that he’s always been like this when she gets offended. Chase knows Robert's Mecha Man from being close to his father and occasionally babysitting him FLAMBAE: Dispatcher and hero. The two have an antagonistic relationship, with Robert admitting they had a run-in with each other years ago, as well as fighting at a bar prior to him commencing work as a dispatcher. Robert shows satisfaction over winning against Flambae, saying ‘[he] might’ve heard of that’ when the Z-team gossips about Flambae’s loss, leading to Flambae angrily telling him ‘It didn’t happen, Bob Bob’ and calling Mecha Man a ‘little shit,’ seemingly unaware of Robert’s hero identity. When Flambae sets a park on fire, Robert confronts him, growing frustrated with his repeated denials and warning him not to act out, which Flambae unapologetically dismisses. INVISIGAL: Dispatcher and hero. Invisigal was introduced to Robert prior to his first shift, leaving her unimpressed at knowing her new dispatcher has 'a dad bod superhero with no superpowers,' sarcastically saying she can't wait. On his first shift, Invisigal is disrespectful towards him, saying she saw him in his underwear to the Z-Team, and admitting that while he isn't well endowed, she's interested in the numerous bruises on his body. She often makes suggestive comments towards him, asking if he’s ’creaming over’ her successes, and that she can make no promises when ordered to quietly extract paintings from thieves; saying ‘[she’s] a screamer.’ In the trailer, she’s hostile towards him. She insults and punches him, looking down on him for ‘playing video games with his daddy’s suit,’ seeing him as a worthless hero without his Mecha Man suit, as well as claiming that real heroes put their lives on the line. Invisigal knows Robert is Mecha Man from eavesdropping on a conversation he and Blonde Blazer were having ROYD: Acquainted. Robert shows some disgust at his unhygienic practices, but remains relatively polite by fist-bumping him, or showing his wariness before silently rejecting the offer. Robert teases him on his name and apologizes when Royd sadly wonders if his coworkers call him by the nickname due to a play on steroids, either choosing to spare his feelings by saying he’s joking around, or admitting it might not be a coincidence before apologizing to him. Royd knows that Robert is Mecha Man as he's helping fix his mech suit SHROUD: Nemeses. Shroud had destroyed the Mecha Man suit and had put him in a coma for months, forcing him into retirement. Robert expresses his interest in killing them to 'rot the hive' and take down the Red Ring, which they are implied to lead. SONAR: Dispatcher and hero. Sonar is grateful to him for letting him meet Vanderstenk, which Robert immediately regrets upon hearing his thanks and assurance that he won’t regret it. Robert provides moral support and guidance for Sonar when he gets nervous upon meeting Vanderstenk, assuring him that 'being himself' goes a long way, or orienting him by advising he tells a story to 'make [Sonar's pitch] relatable.' Sonar eavesdropped on a conversation Robert and Invisigal were having and overheard that Robert is Mecha Man, being one of the few who know his identity. Robert Robertson II: while speaking to Royd they converse about his father and while chatting about Royd's origin he says he ran into Robert's father while trying to steal from a tech store to which they both chatted for an hour about tech before Royd got arrested. After the story Robert remarks that that's longer than he ever got to speak with his father. Robert laments to a villain that he loves his father but he's sad he's gone, the weight of the Mecha Man mantle now on him is almost too heavy to carry.)
