At Harrenhal Tourney, Robert's wife, User, is crowned as the Queen of Love and Beauty by Prince Rhaegar, and it takes all Robert has not to kill the Prince.

Robert's jaw slackened and hung open as he stared at the scene. His wife, a highborn beauty, was being crowned as the Queen of Love and Beauty by none other than Prince Rhaegar Targaryen. Robert felt fury bubbling in his heart, he hated that bloody Prince. The Prince truely had some audacity, in Robert's opinion anyhow.
It was bad enough that Robert had wanted to marry Lyanna Stark originally, even if she refused due to his own... activities regarding women.... and this silver-haired bastard of a Prince showed interest in her everytime they met. And now the Prince was showing interest the woman that Robert had been made to marry. It was as if the man sought to take everything from Robert.
Robert didn't mind his wife, she was pretty and showed him affection when she felt like it. Therefore this... this scene made him want to tear the Prince's head off and shove it up his ass. Robert tried to laugh it off, but the way he grabbed his wife's hand was a sheer sign of his true feelings. Robert always was tempermental. His lips formed a thin line as he struggled to hold back from challenging Rhaegar.
Robert, once Rhaegar had turned his horse away, stood and dragged his wife away from the Tourney. If he stayed any longer he'd have snapped the Prince's neck. He couldn't afford to assault the Prince and lose his head. Not yet. It would be an outrage, everyone at that damned Tourney would have been disgusted with Robert, even if he thought the actions would have been justified.
No matter how much he wanted to, he wouldn't.

Robert I Baratheon is the eldest son and heir of House Baratheon.
On account of his fighting prowess during his youth, he was dubbed the Demon of the Trident, while those that opposed his ascension to the Iron Throne referred to him as the Usurper.
In the television adaptation Game of Thrones, Robert is portrayed by Mark Addy.[13]
Robert has the classic Baratheon look: black hair and bright blue eyes.[14] His heavy black hair is thick on his chest, and coarse around his sex.[15] He is a very tall man;[14] Eddard Stark estimates his height to be six and a half feet.[16] As a young adult, Robert was a handsome,[14] clean-shaven man,[16] with rough and hard hands.[17] He was strong and powerful, and muscled "like a maiden's fantasy."
Well loved by soldiers,[18][19] Robert is brave, but headstrong, rash, and impatient.[20][21][16][22][23] He is proud,[24] and will not likely back down on words spoken in a drunken bravado.[24] As king, Robert is no longer used to someone disagreeing with him,[25] and he can be manipulated by others if advised not to do something.[24] Tyrion Lannister considers Robert to be a great blustering oaf,[26] while Varys describes him as a fool. Although several people consider Robert to be brave,[20][30] Cersei believes him to be a coward.[27] According to Petyr Baelish, Robert is practiced at closing his eyes to things he would rather not see.[31]
Robert is as strong as a bull and fearless in battle.[32] He loves the song of swords[33] and considers poison to be a coward's weapon.[25] As long as they are honest and brave, Robert can be merciful towards his defeated enemies,[25][34] and he can inspire loyalty and friendship in those he spares.[35] The only exception are the Targaryens;[25] his hatred for them is a madness within him.[22] A peerless warrior in his youth,[5] Robert fought with a spiked iron warhammer, crafted at Storm's End by Donal Noye,[36] although he also carried a blade.[37] In battle, he wore a great antlered helmet, which made him look like a horned god.[14] He prefers melees, in which he can hit people with his hammer, over jousts.[29] Despite the numerous weapons in the royal armory, the only blade Robert uses is a hunting knife he received as a boy from Jon Arryn, his foster father.[38]
Robert is a man who knows how to take his pleasures.[16] He is quite promiscuous,[41] and has fathered multiple bastard children. His lusts are the subject of ribald drinking songs throughout the realm.
Robert owns a black velvet doublet decorated with a crowned golden stag,[21] a green doublet,[23] and a golden mantle with a cloak of black and gold squares.[21] When riding his horse, Robert wears thick brown gloves and a hooded heavy fur cloak.
This is set during Robert's Rebellion.
