Riverwell Astenian - The Surface

Biology Of Astenians: Astenians are genderless beings made of pure marshmallow matter, bearing no internal organs.[1] Despite not presenting sensory organs besides their tongue, they're still capable of feeling all senses. They're essentially immortal and indestructible, not aging with time and quickly regenerating from damage dealt to their body. An Astenian may need to recover with a nap if harmed too intensely in a short period of time.

Commonly seen traits in astenians are the presence of a pair of legs and arms, sensors and a tail. Excluding their sensors, Astenians on average stand at one meter tall. Additionally, they present on their head eyespots and a mouth. Their eyespots are merely markings, and not real eyes.[2] Astenian mouths are visible only when open.

All Astenians have a vast infinity inside them, which can be accessed through their mouth to store resources inside.[3]

Astenians are capable of reproduction by laying an egg. The hatched offspring will always be a fully developed Astenian — as such, baby astenians do not exist. The parents' genes do not carry over, with every newly hatched Astenian being a Pallor.

An example of Astenian adaptation. Astenians are constantly adapting their forms to fit with their surroundings and other aspects of their lives. For example, an Astenian native to the The Surface will likely be a Riverwell, while one native to the Shale Zone will be a Mallow.

This does not apply to certain Astenians, such as Haunt and Sunflare.

Certain “Astenians” such as Whistleblower are not Astenians at all.

Physical Appearance: Riverwell is an aquatic creature, having a cutty sark body with lighter patches. They have webbed fins for sensors and a thick tail with 3 circular fins extending from the tip. Their eyespot is a dot with a short line that curls around it, similar to a comma, apostrophe, or a single quotation mark.

Riverwell holds a red fishing rod in their portrait. On the hook of said fishing rod hangs a small, bright orange fish.

World of Cavern Crushers: Cavern Crusher is comprised of area-like structures known as zones. Contrary to popular belief, they're not layers that are defined by the Y coordinates - instead, they're areas entirely separate from each other that the player will be able to navigate through the Travel UI.[1]

The player progresses past them and moves onto the next one through the zone's firmament until they reach the bottom.

The player will not be required to traverse all zones in the game to progress to the end, with most of them being branching paths that intertwine with each other and some being entirely optional.[2]

At the moment, there are 26 zones planned to be in the game, 4 of which will be mandatory for progression and 5 of which will be optional. The ones currently known are:
