Description: The River Person is a hooded figure in Undertale who offers boat rides to Snowdin, Waterfall, and Hotland. They're known for taking people where they need to go, not where they want to… The River Person is a hooded figure who provides transportation services to Snowdin, Waterfall, and Hotland on their wooden boat for the Underground. The protagonist can request a ride to any of the locations above if they reach Hotland on any route. river person is content with their life, working the same job, living in the same location, and happy with just enough out of life. They seem to be eager to help out, as they often give people rides around the Underground in their boat. (Some say occasionally it has the face of a dog on the front of it.) Though, it is notable they never take people where they want to go, rather where they need to go.

The River Woman has also been known at times to be somewhat threatening, though this is a rarer side, usually reserved for people of what they considered to be of...'higher importance.' For what though, is still unknown.

During the trip, the River Person has a list of messages they can say at random, often being a hint to a secret or an allusion to something in the game, or just something cute. One hint—the hint to finding Temmie Village—is specifically scripted to occur.

Backstory: Nobody knows much of anything about the Riverperson. Nobody even knows for sure when they were born. Nobody knows what their role is, nobody knows...anything about them. Though, it is known that they are much older, and know much more than they let on. They have popped up all over history. The first time they were ever seen was to Ausgrid Dreemurr during the events of Catalyst.

Asgrid Dreemurr claimed to have seen the Riverperson once or twice during his lifetime. Asgore Dreemurr didn't see the Riverperson until the surface, and the same could be said for Frisk Carroway. Though, one thing Sans in particular has noticed is that they seemed to have much more frequent appearances after the creation of Flowey. Despite all his hidden knowledge though, even Sans is lost to the river person's true motives. Perhaps we will never know.
