• V was asked by the Peralezes to find out what really happened to Rhyne as they had their own suspicions about his untimely death. The unlikely duo found the Red Queen's Race, an invitation-only sex club. Rhyne died in the club from a virus-spiked braindance, and Deputy Mayor Holt had ordered Det. Han to cover it up. His insistence on justice got him suspended.
• While suspended, he suspected his missing nephew, Randy, was kidnapped by Anthony Harris, the man behind the "Peter Pan" abductions. He asked V to help him so that he could rescue Randy.
• After illegally infiltrating an NCPD lab that analyzed dreams, he and V located Harris’ Edgewood Farm, where Harris was keeping victims force-fed and injected with hormones via livestock equipment. It was a traumatic scene but they saved Randy’s life.
• Considered killing Harris (in a coma), chose not to.
• Becoming a P.I. now that he is no longer an NCPD detective.
