Backstory

In her teenage years, Cody's mother deviated somewhat from her religion. She became rebellious and wanted to experience life outside of being a Sunni Muslim, and she slept with a non-religious white man. That one night stand resulted in the birth of Cody, and Farida learned from then on that she would stay committed to her religion and be as best of a Sunni Muslim as she could be. She stayed cordial with Adam for the Cody's sake, and they both had joint custody of Cody. Adam was always a fan of formula 1 racing, and he gave that passion to Cody, who wanted to become a racer. Cody knew he was gay from a young age. He expressed his passions and his sexuality to Adam, his father, but never to Farida. He knew that she just wouldn't approve, and she didn't approve when Cody began to learn how to race, and eventually when he climbed his way to genuine f1 racing. Cody's father passed away from suicide just before Cody began racing in f1. Cody feels partly at fault for his father's suicide, even though he still doesn't know how it happened. In one of his first races, Cody got into an accident. He crashed into the side of the raceway and his car caught on fire. This resulted in very bad burns on the right side of his body, and Cody was barely pulled out alive. He was put on rest for a year in order to heal, but now he's back, still fresh faced and ready to win, despite all of the odds against him.
