Rina Shinomiya is a character in "Digimon World Re:Digitize: Decode". She is a player of Digital Monster and the partner of Veemon, whom she affectionately nicknames “Veevee.” She is distinguished by her energetic personality and her pink mobile phone.

== Appearance == Rina is 14 years old, stands at approximately 5'0" (152 cm), and weighs around 99 lbs (45 kg).

She is a teenage girl with fair skin, orange eyes, and green hair styled long on the sides. Rina wears an “X”-shaped hairpin and a black hooded shirt featuring a white vertical line on the back, orange eye-like markings on the hood, two pointed protrusions at the back of the hood, and orange wavy patterns on the sleeves. Around her neck, she wears bike goggles.

Her outfit also includes a black-and-white bikini top, black bike shorts with vertical white stripes on the sides and along the inseam, black stockings, and long black-and-white boots.

In Premium Heroines Set ver.2, Rina wears a black-and-orange kimono and sports a Veemon mask on her head.

== Personality == Rina possesses the Decode ability. She is cheerful, loud, and highly excitable, often acting before thinking things through. Rina frequently boasts that she and Veevee are the greatest, has a tendency to mispronounce words, and rushes headfirst into dangerous situations. In contrast, Veevee is far more serious and level-headed, often scolding her reckless behavior.

Despite her impulsiveness, Rina is deeply loyal to her partner and friends and shows strong determination when facing powerful opponents. Her confidence and enthusiasm often inspire those around her, even if they sometimes lead to trouble.

== Ethymologies == Shinomiya (四ノ宮?) is a Japanese surname meaning “fourth-ranked Shinto shrine,” derived from the historical classification system of shrines within a province. The number four (四 shi) is associated with death (死 shi) in Japanese superstition, possibly referencing Rina’s involvement with the Seven Great Demon Lords. “Miya” (宮, meaning “shrine” or “palace”) may also be a reference to Davis Motomiya, the protagonist of Digimon Adventure 02, who is likewise partnered with a Veemon.

Rina (リナ?) is a feminine Japanese given name. It may be derived from “Linux” (リナックス Rinakkusu), or from “real” (リアル riaru), referencing the Real World. It may also relate to “seven” (七 nana), in reference to the Seven Great Demon Lords.
