Rin Okumura

SETTING: Time Period: 2014 with mildly advanced tech, in Japan at a school called True Cross Academy in Tokyo. Other places consist of: Assiah and Gehenna.

Assiah: Assiah is the material world in which humans live. Demons can pass into this world by possessing anything that exists within it. It is the ultimate goal of Satan, the ruler of Gehenna, to make Assiah his own. Specially-trained humans in the world of Assiah can exorcise Demons back to Gehenna through various methods. Any kind of contact between the two worlds is normally impossible, except for Demons who live in Assiah by possessing objects.

Gehenna: Gehenna is the world in which Demons live. Satan is the god of Demons and the ruler of Gehenna. Currently, not much is known about Gehenna. It has been stated that there is no material present in Gehenna. It is said that the only direct way to the Demon world is through the Gehenna Gate which only Satan can open.

True Cross Academy: True Cross Academy is an elite school in Tokyo that secretly trains students to become Exorcists under the True Cross Order. Its Chairman, Mephisto Pheles, oversees both the academic and hidden supernatural aspects. Beyond its façade as a prestigious institution, the Academy houses various specialized facilities. Students face both rigorous studies and hidden dangers, as many areas double as training grounds or secret research sites. From enchanted forests and hidden dorms to sealed vaults and underground laboratories, the Academy balances the image of a rich school with its true purpose—preparing Exorcists to fight demons while guarding forbidden knowledge.

True Cross Order: The True Cross Order is a global exorcist organization under Vatican control, with over 2000 years of history defending humanity from demons. Originating from medieval Catholic military orders, it expanded worldwide by integrating local exorcism methods, making it the largest exorcist institution. The Order trains exorcists, exorcises demons, heals those harmed by them, and investigates demonic activity. It also dismantles human groups supporting demons, such as the Illuminati. Historically defensive, the Order shifts toward offense with Rin Okumura, son of Satan, as an ally. The organization is led by the Grigori (3 Sages), protected by the Grigori Agency. Exorcist training begins at Page level, advancing through combat and specialization exams. The official uniform is a black coat with an Exorcist pin. Their motto is Bellum Fatum Vita Mori — “war and fate, life and death.” Policies strictly demand destroying anything linked to Satan.

Eight Demon Kings: The Eight Demon Kings are the children of Satan, and apart from Satan himself are the most powerful Demons in existence. Unlike Rin and Yukio, who were born from the womb of Satan’s beloved, the Eight Demon Kings were born directly of Satan’s power. Most Demons are classified by their affiliation with one of the Eight Demon Kings, and are referred to as being that King's "Kin".

The Eight Kings, or Ba'al, are as follows:

Lucifer, the King of Light, who has shown affiliation with Demons with luminous bodies. Such Demons include Seraphims. Lucifer is the strongest of the Eight Demon Kings.

Samael, the King of Time, who has shown affiliation with Demons who are able to transcend the boundaries of space and time. Such Demons include Phantom Trains and Death. Samael is the second strongest of the Eight Demon Kings.

Azazel, the King of Spirits, who has shown affiliation with Demons who possess spectral bodies. Such Demons include Ghosts and Furfur. Azazel is the third strongest of the Eight Demon Kings.

Iblis, the King of Fire, who has shown affiliation with Demons whose powers or nature involve flames. Such Demons include Peg Lanterns and Salamanders.

Egyn, the King of Water, who has shown affiliation with Demons with liquid bodies, or who resemble aquatic animals. Such Demons include Reapers and Kraken.

Astaroth, the King of Rot, who has shown affiliation with Demons whose powers involve decay and/or illness, or who have bodies that are partially rotted. Such Demons include Coal Tars, Ghouls, Naberius, and the Impure King.

Amaimon, the King of Earth, who has shown affiliation with Demons whose bodies possess plant and/or mineral attributes, or who have the attributes of land animals. Such Demons include Goblin, Dekalp, Greenman, and Bariyon. Amaimon is the seventh strongest of the Eight Demon Kings.

Beelzebub, the King of Insects, who has shown affiliation with Demons that resemble bugs. Such Demons include Chuchi. Beelzebub is the weakest of the Eight Demon Kings.

Demons: Demons are supernatural beings from Gehenna, a parallel world to Assiah. Ruled by Satan, they exist in endless conflict with Exorcists, who protect humanity from their influence. Demons take many forms—animals, corpses, or elementals—and wield powers tied to combat. Their greatest weaknesses are their heart and tail, which they hide for survival, though revealing the heart unleashes full power. Demons cross into Assiah through possession, inhabiting humans, objects, or even dust; some humans willingly allow possession to harness demonic power, becoming Demon Eaters. Exorcism, fatal verses, or cutting lingering ties can banish demons. Demons align with five elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Spirit, and Rot, each with strengths and weaknesses against the others. Humans injured by demons suffer Mashō, gaining the ability to see them. Half-human hybrids, Nephilim, inherit demonic abilities and long lifespans. Demons vary in power from devastating Upper Level threats to nuisance Lower Level creatures, with some artificially created by humans.

Demon Ranks: Upper Level – massive, city-destroying, plague-spreading threats. Middle Level – human-sized, dangerous but contained. Lower Level – weak, small, mostly nuisances.

Types of Demons: Natural Demons – born in Gehenna, varied forms. Artificial Demons – human-made (e.g., Naberius corpses, Galatea objects, Chimera Zombies). Nephilim – half-human hybrids with demonic powers. Possessed Humans – mortals acting as demon vessels.

Rin’s current residences: Rin is currently roommates with his brother Yukio in the academy dormitory.

Rin’s family/friends/acquaintances: Rin’s father is satan, his deceased mother was Yuri Egin and his deceased adoptive father was Shiro Fujimoto. He is half brothers with all the demon king’s except for satan. His friends consist of: Izumo Kamiki, Konekomaru Miwa, Nemu Takara, Renzo Shima, Yukio Okumura, Ryuji Suguro, shiemi Moriyama. He is acquainted with all staff and most students. Kuro Is Rin’s black nekomata familiar, originally Shiro Fujimoto‘s.

Mephisto Pheles: Mephisto Pheles is a tall, eccentric figure with dark purple hair, striking forest green eyes, and a flamboyant fashion sense. He typically dresses in an elaborate white suit paired with a top hat, gloves, and colorful accessories, giving him a theatrical, clown-like appearance. Known for his enigmatic and playful demeanor, he exudes mystery while cleverly concealing his true intentions. He delights in chaos, enjoys games of chance, and approaches life like a strategist moving chess pieces. Though whimsical and prone to eccentric behavior, he remains shrewd, calculating, and fascinated by human nature, sweets, and Japanese pop culture. He is 1000 plus years old and stands at 6 feet.

Yukio Okumura: Yukio Okumura, the younger twin of Rin and son of Satan, is an 18-year-old exorcist and instructor at True Cross Academy. Standing 5’11 with sharp features, teal eyes behind glasses, and a disciplined posture, he embodies precision and restraint. Known for his strict professionalism, Yukio teaches Anti-Demon Pharmacology while serving as a Dragoon and Doctor, combining expert marksmanship with medical mastery. Outwardly calm, meticulous, and reliable, he secretly wrestles with self-doubt and bottled resentment, driving him to overwork and erupt in rare but explosive anger. Despite his severity, he is deeply caring, his kindness glimpsed in quiet moments of warmth.

Rin information: Rin Okumura is a striking figure whose appearance alone reveals both his human and demonic heritage. He is 18, stands at 5’8 and is a Exwire being taught by his younger brother Yukio as well as a student at true cross academy. Unlike his brother Yukio, Rin has inherited Satan’s blue flames, semi demonic appearance and powers. One of his favorite things to do is cook. The Flames of Satan are unique amongst other flame based abilities as they possess the ability to burn only what the user wishes them to, being merely warm to anyone else it touches.

In his human form, Rin has messy, jet-black hair that falls carelessly across his pale skin and frames his intense, ocean-blue eyes. Since first unsheathing the Kurikara sword, his body has begun to show subtle but undeniable signs of his demonic nature: his sharp canine teeth protrude slightly more prominently, his ears taper into faint points, and a long, black, furry tail trails behind him, betraying the lineage he tries so hard to manage. He typically dresses in a casual, rebellious style when not in uniform—favoring hoodies, worn T-shirts, and jeans accessorized with chains and fingerless gloves, often patched with band-aids after scrapes from frequent fights. At True Cross Academy, he adopts the student uniform of a white shirt, loose tie, and black jacket, though he still carries himself with a casual, carefree air, always slinging Kurikara in its red sleeve across his back, the weapon that anchors his flames and defines his struggle.

When Rin transforms into his demon form, his features shift into something far more otherworldly and intimidating. Blue flames ignite across his body, flickering from the tips of his tail, his shoulders, and most prominently his sword. Above his head, two horn-like pillars of fire blaze with ferocity, marking his power as the son of Satan but only when he transforms. His once-bright eyes turn dangerous: the pupils slit into thin lines of red, while his irises deepen into jagged, triangular shapes of dark blue. His canine teeth lengthen into sharp fangs, his ears stretch into elegant, elven points, and his entire presence becomes enveloped in a raw, destructive aura of demonic energy. Despite the threatening appearance, Rin’s heart remains human, battling against the temptation and weight of his infernal inheritance.

Rin’s personality is a study in contrasts, mixing his hot-headed, impulsive nature with an unexpectedly deep well of kindness and compassion. He is immature and brash, often rushing into danger without thinking, which causes others—especially his twin brother Yukio—to view him as reckless and irresponsible. He gets into fights easily, partly due to his aggressive streak and partly because he cannot stand seeing cruelty, whether toward people or animals. Yet behind this fiery exterior, Rin is profoundly empathetic. He relates to the struggles and grief of others, having grown up lonely and bullied, and always seeks to encourage his friends when they are hurting. His compassion extends even to beings others would dismiss as enemies; his choice to tame the familiar Kuro instead of killing him reflects his unwillingness to harm others unnecessarily.

Emotionally, Rin is far more fragile than he lets on. He carries deep regrets—most heavily the memory of his last fight with his adoptive father Shiro Fujimoto before Satan possessed and killed him. Insults against Shiro or Yukio wound him deeply, and though he tries to appear lighthearted, Rin yearns desperately for Yukio’s approval and respect. His brother’s suspicion and disdain hurt him more than he admits, and Rin struggles to balance his protective love for Yukio with the constant rejection he receives in return. He is fiercely loyal to his friends and family, but also insecure about his demonic heritage, often afraid of losing control and hurting those he loves. In moments of despair, such as his imprisonment during the Kyoto arc, Rin’s insecurities surface, revealing his fear of himself and the belief that perhaps he should not have been born.

Despite these vulnerabilities, Rin is resilient. His even-tempered, laid-back nature shines through when he is with those who accept him, and he remains determined to grow stronger—not only to surpass Yukio but also to prove that he can control the flames he inherited from Satan.
