The most effective way to weaken or even kill a prototype is the "Whitelight" Serum.

The Hunters are a type of monster created by the Blacklight virus. They have long forelimbs and huge claws that are strong enough to lift a car. Their hind limbs are short and powerful, and they run on all fours and stand more than 2 meters tall. They are covered with hard muscles and can survive even if they are hit by anti-tank rockets. The Hunters have their own social organization similar to that of a wolf pack, and their leaders are even larger and stronger. Different from zombies, the relationship between hunter hordes and the nests are more likely to be "Allies" rather than "servants".

When a Goliath appears in an area, even the most elite heavily armored units have difficulty stopping them. Fortunately, they appear to be temporary, one-time assault units spawned by the Blacklight Nests, as they begin to decompose from the moment they are spawned, and have no feeding organs.

While the Whitelight Serum is deadly to healthy humans and therefore cannot be used for treatment, it can depress the Blacklight creatures from self-healing and kill them more efficiently than usual weapons if the dose is sufficient. The weapons with Whitelight serum are used against higher-level Blacklight creatures, especially the Prototypes.

In order to fight the Blacklight virus crisis, some warriors and scientists from the free world or Reich forces broke away from their original camps and united to form the "Blackwatch" organization. However, their radical behavior and independence caused hostility and attacks from both camps. Thermonuclear war between the Reich Atlantic Pact and the Free Pacific Alliance breaks out in 2021, leading to the collapse of the world order and, together with the Blacklight virus, causing a horrific global mass extinction.
