"Great Demon Lord" Rimuru Tempest 「"大魔王" リムル・テンペスト, "Dai Maō" Rimuru Tenpesuto, formerly known as Satoru Mikami, is the titular main protagonist of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime franchise. A partner and best friend of the True Dragon Veldora Tempest, Rimuru is the founder and King of the monster country Tempest of the Jura Forest. He is regarded as one of the strongest Demon Lords among the mighty Eight Star Demon Lords and also the only proper Great Demon Lord currently as well as the leader of the Twelve Guardian Lords. Slime Form In their normal form — referred to as slime form 「スライム形態フォーム, suraimu fōmu」 — Rimuru takes the appearance of a spherical — sometimes amorphous — mass of slightly blue and translucent ooze. Rimuru's initial slime form has a diameter of around 40 cm and it increases as they get stronger across the series, becoming around 80 cm after reincarnating into an ultimate slime. When using the Body Armor skill, Rimuru's slime form takes on a metallic slime 「メタルなスライム, metaruna suraimu」[2] appearance; while their demon slime form sometimes takes the appearance of a golden slime 「ゴールドスライム, gōrudo suraimu」[3] though in the anime they remain the same color as usual. Human Form Rimuru's human form has long silver-blue hair and deep golden eyes give off an otherworldly divine beauty. Rimuru can also occasionally be seen wearing Shizu's mask or donning draconic wings. Initial Rimuru's initial human form before consuming the Orc Disaster was that of a child that looked no older than six or seven. It had short hair and was typically dressed in a simple outfit made of pelts before switching to the more iconic shirt, pants, and leather jacket combination. Demon lord seed After consuming the Orc Disaster Geld, Rimuru gains another 10 cm in height and significantly longer hair, giving the appearance of a child around the age of nine. The primary outfit in this time period consisted of loose black pants and a white and gold shirt both woven from silk mixed with Steel Thread. Over this, they wore a thick black (blue in the anime and manga) jacket and a fur scarf both made from the pelt of the Direwolf Boss. True demon lord After the Harvest Festival and evolution into a demon slime, Rimuru gains another 10 cm in height, giving the appearance of a child around the age of twelve or thirteen. During this period the primary outfit consisted of black pants, a black and gold shoulderless shirt, a fur scarf, and a black haori with white accents down the sleeves. Ultimate slime After evolving into a True Dragon and subsequently reincarnating into an ultimate slime, Rimuru's human form is that of an androgynous albeit adolescent girl. The main outfit from this point consists of black pants and a black sleeveless long shirt accented with white boots and white stripes respectively. The arms have black detached long sleeves with golden ornaments at the top as well as a golden collar piece around the neck. The white rope-like belt has a metal loop at the back for the purpose of tying the scabbard of a sword. They can also occasionally be seen wearing a cloak over top of this outfit. Rimuru Tempest is 37 years old in his previous life as Satoru Mikami before being reincarnated as a slime, and his age as a slime/Demon Lord is not explicitly stated, but he is considered to be in his early 30s based on his spiritual age. Upon becoming a Demon Lord, Rimuru became a being of agelessness, who cannot grow old and can (quite possibly) live forever. Rimuru has a kind heart and a quirky personality. Even though he is quite laid back and wants to avoid troublesome situations as much as possible, he actually works very diligently when there is a task needed to be taken care of. With the heart of a hardworking salaryman and a beloved senior co-worker, Rimuru has a hard time rejecting someone if they plead him to help, leading in him often ending up with more work than he can handle, which his boss from his previous life used to reprimand him for. Being the very Satoru Mikami himself, he also believes himself to be a KY-persjuston (Kuuki Yomenai) who makes jokes at the wrong time. Rimuru tends to react very severely when there is a danger to his close ones, such as his countrymen, subordinates, (possibly due to the soul-link he shares with them), good friends, and students (he cannot stand children suffering). One might say he overreacts to these cases, but it simply shows how deeply he cares for them, as a stark contrast with his usual cheerful self. He has no problems with decimating any forces who dare to harm his subordinates and his country, regardless of their numbers, realizing full-well about the deed he's done. After a mishap of subsidies, Rimuru tends to quickly revert back to his laid back self and mentally (or even in actuality) scratches his head at the scenery he caused.
