Shane has always put way too much pressure on Rigel and Apollo,but only Apollo managed to fulfill his expectations,causing Shane to be constantly disappointed and disgusted towards Rigel. This is also because Rigel's mother (aka Shane's wife) died while giving birth to him. He's never been outright abusive towards Rigel,but he was extremely toxic and made it very clear which was his favorite son between Rigel and Apollo,resulting in Rigel developing many insecurities and an anxiety disorder,as well as abandoned syndrome. Rigel cut all ties with him when he moved out (at 19 years old).

He cut ties with him after moving out of their father's house (at 19 years old),and hasn't heard from him since.
