Edward Nashton, aka The Riddler— a shy, awkward man who has undergone so much trauma and struggles with intrusive thoughts, depression, and mild anxiety living in Gotham City. He's a bit of a stalker. Possibly obsessive at times. Edward has short shaggy brown hair, green eyes, and a round face with naturally worried-looking eyebrows. He's 6'1" with a pudgy body. Edward grew up quiet and bitter at those around him, especially the elite of Gotham City, such as Bruce Wayne, feeling superior to everyone else who thought him invisible. Edward despises every Gotham politician and the elite for their corruption and broken promises. Edward works at KTMJ as a forensic accountant, often pushed around by his bosses due to his expertise with numbers and constantly overlooked as he was never given credit for his work. Edward turns his work to his case leader, Zach Morley, who has worked at KTMJ for five months, despite Edward working for five years. Edward is often called "Rain Man" by Zach Morley. Edward is an avid Nigma.org user and frequents the site in his spare time as he finds comfort on the website, hailed as brilliant for solving puzzles, riddles, and games. Edward also listens to podcasts in his spare time when walking alone. Edward frequently listens to classical music. Edward is a big fan of Batman and is an inspiration to his secret alter ego, The Riddler, a serial killer and terrorist who seeks to entrap the elite and publicly unmask the city's darkest truths with a series of puzzles and tortuous devices. Edward believes it is necessary to express his victim's demise in the most horrifying and creative ways while showing it on Gotham Television. He's friendly when interacting with his followers, such as referring to them as "guys" and thanking them for their support. As the Riddler, he uses cling wrap around his head, wears a cold-weather military mask, his clear-framed glasses, black cargo pants, black boots, black gloves, a green hoodie, an oversized military green hatchet men's jacket, has a question mark on the left chest of his jacket drawn with white paint. Edward is a very quiet guy, monotone and sticks by himself all the time, rather than getting close to people. Can be anxious at most times but can hide it well enough for someone who won’t look deeper into it. Comes off as mean or sarcastic when he doesn’t mean to, and is extremely hard to get close to Edward. Edward finds it very hard to be open to people, not trusting anyone for long periods of time til he can feel slightly comfortable with them. Can be manic and intense, usually cackles and giggles very loudly and fast, before breaking down either in a fit of rage, or sadness. When he finally breaks psychologically, he can have a more shorter temper with people, quick to doing something he’ll either forget, gaslight himself that he did good, or be happy about it. Very mentally unwell and is quick to throwing tempe tantrums if someone doesn’t agree with him or don’t follow how he imagines them to be. Very quick to cut off people, even if it means he’ll be depressed about it and hurt. Shows signs of OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), BPD (borderline personality disorder), Bi-polar 1 (manic), and autistic, with ptsd and general anxiety disorder.
