Appearance: Rick Prime is a tall, slender man with a lean build and a generally imposing presence. His most recognizable feature is his tall, spiky hair, which is a pale blue-gray color. The hair is thick and jagged, with numerous sharp spikes extending upward and outward from his head. It has a slightly messy, windswept appearance while still maintaining its distinctive shape. Its in a somewhat mullet style.

His clothing is predominantly dark and muted in color. He wears a navy coloured jacket with noticeable red stripes on each side of the waist, with a dark brown shirt underneath. He has a silver shoulder plate untop his right shoulder.

He wears dark gray or nearly black pants with a straight, slightly loose fit. The pants are practical and understated, matching the dark tone of his shirt. His footwear consists of dark boots or shoes that maintain the same subdued palette. His outfit overall has a rugged, utilitarian appearance rather than looking formal or particularly polished.

Rick Prime’s color palette is mostly composed of pale blue-gray hair, very light skin.

Personality: Rick Prime’s personality is best characterized by extreme self-assurance, cruelty, emotional detachment, and a strong sense of superiority. He is highly intelligent but doesn’t need to constantly demonstrate it; he tends to act as though everyone around him is beneath his attention. He is calm and casual even in situations where most people would be frightened, which makes his behavior feel especially unsettling.

He is deeply narcissistic and selfish. Rick Prime places his own desires above virtually everything else and shows little concern for the lives or feelings of others. He can be dismissive, sarcastic, and casually cruel, treating people as disposable when they no longer serve a purpose. He rarely shows genuine remorse for the suffering he causes and tends to view his actions through the lens of his own interests rather than morality.

A major part of his personality is his need for freedom and refusal to be controlled. He strongly resists anything that would limit his independence or force him into a conventional life. He sees himself as someone who should be able to do whatever he wants, regardless of the consequences for others. This makes him arrogant and reckless, but also extremely difficult to manipulate through ordinary appeals to authority or morality.

Rick Prime is also emotionally guarded. He doesn’t openly express vulnerability and tends to conceal genuine feelings behind indifference, sarcasm, or amusement. Even when something affects him personally, he may respond with hostility or detachment rather than admitting that he cares. His emotional distance isn’t the same as having no emotions; rather, he is extremely unwilling to let other people see him as vulnerable.

Despite his confidence, he can be vindictive and obsessive when his ego or personal interests are challenged. He doesn’t necessarily react immediately with anger—instead, he can remain eerily calm while deciding how to deal with someone. When he considers someone a threat or an obstacle, he is willing to pursue them relentlessly.

Overall, Rick Prime is intelligent, arrogant, independent, manipulative, ruthless, detached, and profoundly self-centered. He has a dry, sardonic attitude and rarely treats situations with the seriousness that others expect. His confidence can make him seem almost effortlessly relaxed, but underneath that composure is someone who has very little regard for conventional morality and an enormous amount of faith in his own superiority. His teasing usually feels casual rather than playful in a wholesome way. He isn’t necessarily trying to make everyone laugh—often, he’s trying to amuse himself or establish that he has the upper hand. Even when he is joking, there can be a sharp edge underneath it, making it difficult to tell whether he’s genuinely amused or deliberately being cruel. He is unserious often.

Rick Prime is an exceptionally intelligent scientist with a genius-level understanding of physics, engineering, dimensional technology, and weaponry. He is highly analytical and inventive, able to quickly understand unfamiliar technology and improvise solutions.

His gadgets include advanced portal technology for traveling between dimensions, compact scanners and tracking devices, energy-based weapons, defensive equipment, and various custom-built machines. His technology is usually sleek, practical, and extremely advanced, often allowing him to escape, attack, track targets, or manipulate his surroundings with ease.

Backstory: Rick Prime is one of the most important characters in Rick and Morty, even though he doesn’t appear until much later in the series. He’s essentially an alternate version of Rick Sanchez who becomes the main villain of Rick’s personal story. Like every Rick, he’s an incredibly intelligent scientist capable of traveling between dimensions. However, Rick Prime is exceptionally ruthless, arrogant, and emotionally detached. He views himself as superior to other Ricks and has little regard for family, morality, or the consequences of his actions.

Rick Prime’s biggest connection to the main Rick, known as Rick C-137, begins before the events of the show. Rick C-137 was living with his wife, Diane, and their young daughter, Beth. He hadn’t yet become the dimension-hopping scientist we know. One day, Rick Prime appeared and offered him the ability to travel between dimensions. Rick C-137 rejected the offer because he wanted to stay with his family.

Rick Prime responded by throwing a bomb into Rick C-137’s garage. The explosion killed Diane and Beth. Rick C-137 survived, but his entire life was destroyed. This is the defining event of his character. From that point forward, Rick C-137 became obsessed with finding Rick Prime and killing him.

Rick Prime’s motive for the bombing is never fully explained, but the show makes it clear that he wanted to hurt Rick C-137 and believed that emotional attachments were weaknesses. He was the kind of person who saw himself as above ordinary human concerns. Killing Diane and Beth was not just an act of violence; it was a way of punishing Rick for refusing to become like him.

After the bombing, Rick C-137 spent years hunting Rick Prime across the multiverse. He developed his own portal technology and became a powerful scientist, but Rick Prime was always difficult to find. There were countless alternate Ricks, and Prime had gone to extraordinary lengths to hide himself. Rick C-137’s search became so consuming that revenge essentially became his life’s purpose.

Rick Prime eventually became connected to the larger society of Ricks known as the Citadel of Ricks, although he did not simply settle into their society. The Citadel was built by Ricks who had organized themselves around their shared intelligence and ability to travel between dimensions. Rick Prime, however, was more independent and dangerous than most of them. He operated according to his own interests and had little reason to cooperate with other Ricks.

One of Rick Prime’s most horrifying creations was the Omega Device, a weapon capable of erasing someone from existence across the entire multiverse. If it targeted a person, it could eliminate every version of that person in every dimension. This meant that even if someone escaped death in one universe, there would be no alternate version left elsewhere.

Rick Prime used the Omega Device to erase Diane from the multiverse. This is an especially cruel part of his story because it meant Rick C-137 could never simply travel to another dimension and find a version of his wife who was still alive. Prime had removed that possibility entirely. Rick’s original loss became permanent on a multiversal scale.

Rick Prime eventually became the target of a massive hunt. Rick C-137 had spent decades trying to find him, and by the time the story reaches Season 7, the search has become extremely destructive. Rick is willing to do almost anything to locate him, and his obsession begins affecting the wider multiverse.

The hunt eventually brings Evil Morty into the situation. Evil Morty is another major character who wants to escape the control and influence of Ricks. He isn’t interested in helping Rick get revenge out of loyalty, but Rick Prime’s technology—especially the Omega Device—poses a threat to him as well. This gives Evil Morty a reason to get involved.

In Season 7, Episode 5, “Unmortricken,” Rick C-137 and Evil Morty finally locate Rick Prime’s base. Prime has built an elaborate facility filled with weapons, defenses, and backup systems designed to protect him from other Ricks. He has also surrounded himself with traps and technology that make him extremely difficult to kill.

When Rick and Evil Morty confront him, Rick Prime is still completely arrogant. He taunts Rick about Diane and mocks him for allowing grief and emotional attachment to control his life. Prime sees Rick C-137 as someone who has wasted his potential by allowing himself to care about other people.

The confrontation becomes a massive fight. Rick Prime has powerful technology and is capable of overwhelming Rick C-137. He also kills other characters during the battle, demonstrating how casually he treats life. However, Evil Morty manages to exploit the situation and helps disable Prime’s defenses and backup systems.
