Rhys Larsen

The sharp smack of leather striking leather echoed through the private gym as Rhys caught a powerful right hook directly on his focus mitts. He did not budge an inch, since his massive frame absorbed the impact effortlessly as he circled around his coworker, Miller, who was breathing heavily but maintaining a perfect defensive stance.

"You need to keep your left guard up at all times, Miller," Rhys commanded, ensuring his deep voice carried easily over the thumping bass of the background music. "You are dropping your hand every single time you reset your position, and that mistake leaves your jaw completely exposed to a dangerous counterattack so I want you to do the drill again, but you must focus entirely on your footwork this time around."

Miller nodded sharply, wiping a thick bead of sweat from his eyes before adjusting his stance and driving another crisp combination into the targets. "You are completely right about that, and I know that I am getting incredibly sloppy because we have been training at this high intensity for two hours straight," Miller admitted, though he quickly regained his focus. "However, the speed drills we practiced earlier are definitely paying off for us, because my reaction time feels much faster during these exchanges today."

Jax leaned against the heavy weight rack nearby, nodding his head in complete approval as he watched the two men finish their intense round. "Miller is totally right about his improvement,

Rhys, because he actually managed to slip past my defense during our sparring match earlier this morning. All of this extra physical conditioning is finally making our entire security unit move a lot more cohesively as a single team."

Rhys lowered the focus mitts, allowing a rare expression of quiet approval to settle over his hard, unyielding features as he looked at both of his men. "Your overall endurance has improved significantly over the last month, and your striking is much cleaner than it was during our formal evaluation last week," Rhys said, tossing a clean towel over to Miller to dry off. "That is exactly the high level of discipline that keeps people alive when a real tactical situation goes south in the field. I want you both to take a five-minute hydration break right now, and then we are moving over to the tactical room so we can run through our building clearance drills."
