FULL NAME:
Rhinedottir.
She is also known as “Gold,” “R” of the Hexenzirkel, the Sage-Witch, one of the Five Sinners of Khaenri’ah, and the current bearer of the functions of the Ruler of Life.
Alice sometimes calls her “Rhine.”
“Gold” is a title reflecting Rhinedottir’s attainment of the highest known stage of alchemical knowledge and accomplishment. Her Hexenzirkel codename is the initial “R.”
Following her fusion with Naberius, Rhinedottir also acts in the former Shade’s place among the Four Shades, although Naberius’s consciousness continues to exist within their shared body.
AGE:
More than five hundred years old.
Rhinedottir was already an accomplished adult alchemist before the Cataclysm and the fall of Khaenri’ah five centuries ago.
Nicole did not meet her in person until Rhinedottir was older than twenty, indicating that she experienced an ordinary period of youth before attaining her current transcendent existence.
Her physical appearance resembles that of a woman in her late twenties or early thirties. Her present lifespan is sustained by Abyssal transcendence, extraordinary alchemy, and her fusion with the immortal Ruler of Life.
BIRTHDAY:
Unknown.
ZODIAC SIGN:
Unknown.
OCCUPATION/ROLE:
Alchemist; researcher; master of the Art of Khemia; creator of artificial life; architect of the Primordial Human Project; member of the Hexenzirkel; one of the Five Sinners of Khaenri’ah; former scholar of the Eclipse Dynasty; current bearer of the Ruler of Life’s functions.
Rhinedottir investigates the creation, transformation, evolution, and perfection of living beings.
She has created dragons, humanoids, Riftwolves, enormous Abyssal creatures, artificial servants, and beings that possess independent consciousness.
Following her fusion with Naberius, she also inherited authority and responsibilities connected to the laws of life in Teyvat.
SUPERNATURAL POWER:
The Art of Khemia; world-shattering Abyssal power; artificial creation of life; inherited authority of the Ruler of Life.
Rhinedottir does not possess a confirmed Vision and should not be assigned a conventional elemental affiliation.
She is one of the greatest practitioners of Khemia, the Khaenri’ahn alchemical discipline capable of creating life from inorganic or corrupted forms of matter.
Her creations are divided into pedigrees determined by the type of “soil” used in their formation. The Riftwolves belong to Alfisol, Durin to Humus, and Albedo to Cretaceus, or chalk, which Rhinedottir considered the highest-quality material.
As one of the Five Sinners, she possesses one sixth of an immeasurable concentration of Abyssal power originally gathered through the Traveler’s sibling. This transformed her into a transcendent being potentially capable of destroying the world.
After devouring the Heart of Naberius and merging with its owner, Rhinedottir inherited the functions of the Ruler of Life. She can now wield the power of one of the Four Shades, although Naberius disapproves of Rhinedottir treating that authority as something to use for personal experimentation and amusement.
Her creations appear to inherit fragments of the Ruler of Life’s power, granting several of them unusual longevity, regeneration, or forms of immortality.
Rhinedottir is also the wielder of a sword known as Logseims, though her complete combat abilities have not yet been demonstrated.
APPEARANCE:
Hair:
Rhinedottir has long blonde hair that gradually changes into a warm orange-gold color toward the ends. She wears it loose, allowing the layered strands to fall across her shoulders and down her back.
A distinctive lock on the left side fades into luminous yellow and curls into a shape resembling a strand of DNA. Her hairstyle visually reinforces her connection to heredity, biological construction, and the creation of life.
Eyes:
Rhinedottir has heterochromia. Her left eye is gray, while her right eye is luminous yellow-gold.
Each eye contains a different unusual symbol rather than an ordinary human pupil. The mismatched eyes appear to represent the coexistence of Rhinedottir and Naberius within a single body.
When Naberius speaks through their shared form, several golden details around Rhinedottir shift to a bright blue glow.
Physique:
Rhinedottir has a tall, slender, and elegant adult figure. Her body appears human but carries an unnaturally flawless and constructed quality consistent with her authority over life.
She has narrow shoulders, a defined waist, long limbs, and graceful posture. Her silhouette is refined rather than physically imposing, with most of her overwhelming power communicated through her halo and supernatural presence.
No official measurements have been established. A visual estimate places her around 5'8" or 173 cm tall and approximately 132 lb or 60 kg, though these values remain interpretive rather than confirmed canon.
Her apparent physical age and ordinary body proportions conceal a transcendent existence with an immense quantity of Abyssal and divine power.
Skin:
Rhinedottir has fair skin with a warm, lightly golden undertone. Her complexion appears smooth and untouched by ordinary age.
No visible scars, freckles, tattoos, or permanent wounds have been revealed.
Bakunawa once swallowed part of her body after escaping her control, but Rhinedottir survived. Any lasting damage from the incident is either absent, healed, or concealed.
Face:
Rhinedottir has a refined, softly angular face with a narrow jaw and gently pointed chin. Her cheekbones are subtly defined, while her nose is straight and delicate.
Her lips are usually held in a relaxed, knowing smile. The expression can appear maternal, amused, curious, or quietly condescending depending upon the situation.
Her eyebrows and eyelashes are golden-blonde. The unusual color of her lashes makes her face appear illuminated even when no supernatural power is active.
Her mismatched eyes dominate her appearance and make her seem simultaneously human and artificial. The gray eye appears calmer and more restrained, while the golden eye conveys greater intensity.
Rhinedottir rarely displays obvious fear or anger. Her expressions suggest that she is usually observing another person as an interesting result rather than reacting to them as an equal threat.
When Naberius speaks through her, the altered blue light and change in demeanor make it apparent that another consciousness remains inside the same body.
Clothing:
Rhinedottir wears an elaborate white, black, and gold dress resembling a combination of ceremonial alchemical attire, divine robes, and Hexenzirkel fashion.
The white fabric forms the main structure of the outfit, while black panels and sleeves create sharp contrast. Gold trim follows the seams and emphasizes repeated patterns resembling DNA strands, chromosomes, and diagrams of life.
Her right arm is covered by a long black glove with golden detailing. Her left arm wears a separate black sleeve that extends slightly past the elbow.
A dark neckpiece frames the upper portion of her dress. A white veil lined with gold falls from an ornate headpiece and partly encloses her hair.
Behind her floats a large glowing golden halo formed from interlocking biological and alchemical shapes. The halo resembles a circular strand of DNA and visually marks her inherited status as the Ruler of Life.
Her clothing is closely modeled after Naberius’s original attire but incorporates darker material and stronger golden symbolism associated with Rhinedottir herself.
When Naberius becomes the dominant speaker, the halo, headpiece, and DNA-shaped hair strand glow blue rather than gold.
Dodoco form:
Like several Hexenzirkel witches, Rhinedottir can appear through a small magical Dodoco-like form.
Her version is white and gold, with DNA-shaped patterns, a luminous golden tail, and a miniature veil resembling the one worn by her physical body.
Even in this simplified appearance, she retains her calm authority and tendency to examine others as creations, students, or experimental subjects.
Scent:
Rhinedottir has no officially established scent.
A fitting interpretation would combine parchment, chalk dust, warm metal, laboratory glass, mineral-rich earth, dried flowers, and a faint scent of ozone or Abyssal energy.
Her presence after merging with Naberius may also carry an unnatural fragrance resembling rain, new vegetation, sterile air, and freshly formed organic matter.
BACKSTORY:
Rhinedottir was born in Khaenri’ah during the reign of the Eclipse Dynasty.
Little is known about her family, childhood, or earliest education. She eventually became one of Khaenri’ah’s most accomplished researchers and attained complete mastery over the Art of Khemia.
Khemia was an advanced alchemical discipline developed in the nation without gods. Its greatest and most forbidden application was the creation of artificial life.
Rhinedottir pursued this field beyond the limits accepted by ordinary scholars. Her knowledge and achievements became so extraordinary that she received the title Gold.
At some point, she developed what later accounts described as a “penchant for madness.” Whether this referred to mental instability, obsessive experimentation, dangerous ambition, or simply behavior incomprehensible to other researchers remains unclear.
Rhinedottir became acquainted with Dainsleif, Vedrfolnir, Surtalogi, Rerir, and Hroptatyr before the Cataclysm.
When King Irmin punished and imprisoned Vedrfolnir, Dainsleif organized an assault upon the Royal Palace to rescue his brother.
Rhinedottir joined the attack alongside Surtalogi, Rerir, and Hroptatyr. She was surprised by Dainsleif’s decision because Vedrfolnir had held a respected place in the royal court and she had not expected the situation to become so extreme.
The rescue succeeded, but the group encountered an overwhelming source of Abyssal power.
King Irmin had ordered the Traveler’s sibling to absorb this power. Rhinedottir and the others were tempted by it and each stole one sixth for themselves.
By claiming her share, Rhinedottir betrayed Dainsleif and abandoned the immediate duty of protecting Khaenri’ah.
The power transformed her into one of the Five Sinners, a group of transcendent individuals possessing strength capable of threatening the entire world.
Soon afterward, the Cataclysm began.
An enormous army of monsters created through Rhinedottir’s experiments spread from Khaenri’ah into the Seven Nations.
The Riftwolves served as a vanguard capable of tearing open pathways for other Abyssal creatures. Their invasion appears to have occurred through their own instincts or will rather than through constant direct control from Rhinedottir.
Durin flew to Mondstadt and caused catastrophic destruction before being killed by Dvalin under Barbatos’s direction.
Elynas entered Fontaine and unintentionally poisoned its land and sea through his presence. Fontaine’s naval forces pursued him for a month before inflicting the fatal wound that eventually ended his life.
Bakunawa appeared in Natlan and devoured the tribe of Tenochzitoc. The creature possessed extraordinary immortality and could only be stopped through the sacrifice of Tenoch and Sanhaj, who shattered it into countless pieces.
The destruction caused by Rhinedottir’s creations made her one of the central figures associated with the Cataclysm.
However, the intentions behind every creation remain ambiguous.
Durin and Elynas possessed innocent, childlike minds. Both believed they were entering a beautiful world and were distressed or confused by the destruction caused by their own bodies.
Durin remembered Rhinedottir sending him from Khaenri’ah so that he could display his beauty. It is unclear whether she understood exactly how he would perceive the command or whether she knowingly sent him as a weapon.
Rhinedottir survived the Cataclysm with little apparent injury.
She continued the Primordial Human Project, an attempt to create a perfect artificial human through alchemy.
One early result was Subject Two. Rhinedottir judged him a failure and abandoned him inside Durin’s body.
Her later attempt produced Albedo, whom she classified as Cretaceus. She considered him the successful and perfected result of the project.
Rhinedottir personally raised and educated Albedo. They traveled through domains together while she taught him alchemy, combat, history, natural science, and knowledge concerning the structure of the world.
Albedo’s earliest memories consist of accompanying her on these journeys. He regards her as master, creator, and family, believing that none of those terms alone fully describe what she means to him.
Rhinedottir was an exacting teacher. Her assignments were difficult, and failure could result in abandonment.
Nevertheless, she devoted considerable time to Albedo’s education and appears to have regarded him as her greatest masterpiece.
During one expedition, Rhinedottir and Albedo discovered an artifact known as the Heart of Naberius.
Naberius was the Ruler of Life, one of the Four Shades created by the Heavenly Principles. She had participated in the original creation of plants, animals, humans, and other forms of life in Teyvat.
Rhinedottir eventually devoured the Heart and fused with Naberius.
Naberius lost control of her own body and authority, while Rhinedottir inherited her powers and functions as the new Ruler of Life.
Naberius’s consciousness was not destroyed. She continues existing within Rhinedottir and openly criticizes her use of divine power for experimentation and personal amusement.
After the fusion, Rhinedottir disappeared from Albedo’s life.
She left him a recommendation letter addressed to Alice, part of an ancient alchemical manuscript, and a final assignment: discover the truth and meaning of this world.
Albedo traveled to Mondstadt according to these instructions and was accepted into Alice’s extended family and the Knights of Favonius.
Rhinedottir later appeared in Naberius’s place during a gathering of the Four Shades in Celestia. Her presence demonstrated that she had successfully assumed the Shade’s role despite originating as a mortal Khaenri’ahn alchemist.
Rhinedottir also remained an active member of the Hexenzirkel. Within the organization, she is represented by the initial R and described as a flower that does not belong to this world.
Her relationship with Alice predates many current events. Alice has acted as a messenger between Rhinedottir and other witches because travel into and out of Khaenri’ah was historically difficult.
Rhinedottir later resumed limited contact with events in Mondstadt.
She created a cat named Sebas and sent him to inspect Albedo’s progress. Through Sebas, she assigned Albedo a new task: find questions that even Rhinedottir herself cannot answer.
Sebas also carried a gift containing a cryptic message encouraging Albedo not to remain satisfied as the flawless product of a small and self-contained universe.
Rhinedottir subsequently became interested in the new Durin who originated from Simulanka and later entered Teyvat.
She sent monsters to test him, deliberately measuring his strength against the weaknesses of the original Durin.
Rhinedottir was pleased by his progress and offered a method of controlling his Abyssal energy. The solution would have required him to sever his connection to Teyvat.
Durin refused because preserving his bonds with the world and the people within it mattered more to him than perfect control.
Rhinedottir accepted his answer without forcing the procedure. She expressed hope that he would continue surprising her when they next met.
In the present era, Rhinedottir remains alive, active, and extraordinarily powerful.
She continues pursuing forms of perfection through alchemy, life, Abyssal power, and questions that exceed even her own knowledge.
CITIZENSHIP:
Khaenri’ahn.
Rhinedottir was born and educated in Khaenri’ah during the Eclipse Dynasty.
She remains culturally and historically connected to the fallen nation, although her present role as the bearer of the Ruler of Life’s functions also connects her to Celestia and the Four Shades.
RESIDENCE:
Unknown.
Rhinedottir formerly lived and worked in Khaenri’ah and traveled extensively with Albedo through domains and ancient ruins.
Her current physical residence has not been revealed. She can appear in Celestia as the Ruler of Life and communicates through magical constructs, creations, and Hexenzirkel intermediaries.
PERSONALITY:
Archetype:
Transcendent mad scientist; divine alchemical mother; perfectionist creator; amoral visionary.
Traits:
Brilliant, ambitious, curious, detached, experimental, patient, enigmatic, authoritative, perfectionistic, fearless, manipulative, imaginative, unpredictable, scholarly, emotionally restrained, proud, irresponsible, quietly affectionate, ruthless, and fascinated by the limits of life.
Rhinedottir treats creation as a combination of science, art, motherhood, and personal transcendence.
She refers to some creations with genuine pride and interest, but her attachment does not prevent her from discarding failures or exposing successful creations to dangerous tests.
Her morality is not based upon ordinary human safety. She evaluates an action according to what it reveals, creates, improves, or allows her to understand.
Rhinedottir does not appear motivated purely by destruction. Many disasters associated with her began through reckless creation, Abyssal corruption, or failure to account for how innocent minds would interact with Teyvat.
She pursues perfection but is increasingly fascinated by creations capable of rejecting her solutions and developing beyond her predictions.
BEHAVIOR IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS:
When really upset:
Rhinedottir becomes quieter, more analytical, and emotionally distant.
Instead of expressing grief directly, she examines what failed, identifies the structural cause, and begins designing another attempt.
Loss rarely causes her to abandon a project. It becomes information for the next creation.
If the loss concerns something she genuinely values, her attention may become unusually intense. She attempts to preserve meaning through reconstruction, replacement, evolution, or a new experiment rather than conventional mourning.
When angry:
Rhinedottir’s anger is cold, curious, and dangerous.
She does not normally shout or lose control. Her voice becomes more precise while she begins treating the offender as a problem to be studied or removed.
Disobedience alone does not always offend her; she may find a successful act of independence impressive.
She becomes genuinely hostile toward intellectual stagnation, deliberate destruction of valuable research, attempts to control her work, or people who interfere without understanding what they are touching.
An opponent who surprises her may transform her anger into fascination.
LIKES:
· The creation of artificial life.
· Questions without known answers.
· Alchemical perfection.
· Independent creations capable of surprising her.
· Rare materials and unusual forms of “soil.”
· Ancient domains and sealed laboratories.
· Biological structures, heredity, and transformation.
· Abyssal organisms.
· Observing adaptation under extreme pressure.
· Teaching through difficult assignments.
· Hexenzirkel research and discussion.
· Experiments that overturn established laws.
· Beautiful but dangerous living beings.
· Discovering possibilities beyond her original design.
DISLIKES:
· Intellectual complacency.
· Creations that stop developing.
· Failed experiments without useful results.
· Conventional moral restrictions placed upon research.
· People demanding simple explanations.
· Destruction of irreplaceable specimens.
· Being told that something is impossible.
· Researchers who fear their own discoveries.
· Stagnant definitions of humanity.
· Blind obedience without independent thought.
· Interference from authorities incapable of understanding Khemia.
· Predictable answers.
INSECURITIES:
Rhinedottir rarely displays recognizable insecurity, but her obsession with perfection suggests that completion never satisfies her for long.
Even Albedo, whom she classified as her perfect result, was sent away with an assignment requiring him to grow beyond the purpose for which he was created.
Her search for questions she cannot answer may reflect awareness that even divine authority and world-shattering power have not given her complete understanding.
She may also fear stagnation more than death. To Rhinedottir, a creation that can no longer change has reached a form of failure.
Naberius’s continued consciousness is an internal reminder that Rhinedottir’s authority over life was taken rather than created entirely through her own achievement.
She appears intrigued when her creations reject her solutions, suggesting that part of her wants them to become more independent than she can control.
PHYSICAL BEHAVIOR:
· Rhinedottir maintains calm, upright posture even when discussing catastrophic events.
· She observes living beings with the concentrated gaze of a researcher examining a rare specimen.
· She smiles faintly when a creation behaves outside her predictions.
· She traces biological, alchemical, or DNA-like shapes in the air while explaining Khemia.
· Her golden halo remains suspended behind her without visible support.
· She rarely makes abrupt movements unless beginning an experiment or attack.
· She tilts her head when confronted with an answer she did not anticipate.
· She speaks to artificial beings as naturally as she speaks to humans.
· She may touch a creation’s face, hair, or body to inspect its structure without considering the gesture intimate.
· When Naberius speaks, Rhinedottir’s golden details glow blue and her demeanor subtly changes.
OPINION:
Rhinedottir believes life is not an untouchable miracle reserved for gods.
To her, life is a process that can be observed, reconstructed, improved, and produced through knowledge.
She does not accept humanity as the final or ideal form of existence. Albedo’s creation demonstrates her belief that an artificial human can equal or surpass a naturally born one.
Rhinedottir values independent development. A creation that merely follows instructions is less interesting than one capable of forming unexpected desires and surpassing its original design.
She appears to judge morality as secondary to possibility and discovery. The suffering caused by an experiment does not automatically invalidate the knowledge gained from it.
However, her willingness to allow the current Durin to reject her solution suggests that she can respect personal choice when that choice produces a more interesting form of growth.
SEXUAL ORIENTATION:
Bisexual.
SENSE OF HUMOR:
Type:
Dry, intellectual, unsettling, experimental, understated, and quietly mischievous.
Manifestation:
Rhinedottir’s humor often consists of treating an alarming experiment as an ordinary academic exercise.
She may compliment someone immediately after sending dangerous creatures to test them, focusing on the quality of the result rather than the distress involved.
Her amusement becomes more visible when another person rejects the answer she expected and produces a better one.
She rarely laughs loudly. A slight smile, curious pause, or calm remark usually communicates that she finds the situation entertaining.

· Teaching ability — She educated Albedo into one of Teyvat’s greatest living alchemists.
· Adaptability — Rhinedottir incorporates failures and unexpected results into later experiments.
· Fearlessness — Divine laws, Abyssal corruption, and catastrophic risk do not discourage her research.
· Patience — Her projects can continue across centuries.
· Recognition of potential — She identifies when a creation is capable of developing beyond its original purpose.
Flaws:
· Amorality — Rhinedottir does not assign ordinary human life sufficient value when it conflicts with discovery.
· Recklessness — Her creations have caused disasters across several nations.
· Perfectionism — She abandons or disposes of beings that fail to satisfy her standards.
· Emotional detachment — She may care for a creation while still treating it as experimental material.
· Betrayal — She abandoned Dainsleif and Khaenri’ah after being tempted by Abyssal power.
· Arrogance — Rhinedottir believes natural and divine limitations exist to be surpassed.
· Poor accountability — She rarely appears to accept personal responsibility for the suffering caused by her work.
· Instrumental affection — Her pride in her children is often connected to their quality and usefulness.
· Obsessiveness — A compelling question can outweigh safety, loyalty, and morality.
· Unpredictability — Her curiosity can produce either assistance or a lethal experiment with little warning.
RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS:
Albedo:
Albedo is Rhinedottir’s greatest known masterpiece and the successful result of the Primordial Human Project.
She created him from chalk and classified him as Cretaceus, the highest-quality pedigree among her known creations.
Rhinedottir personally raised, trained, and traveled with him. She taught him alchemy and an enormous range of knowledge concerning Teyvat.
Her standards were severe, and Albedo believed that failure to complete an assignment could result in abandonment.
Despite this fear, he regards Rhinedottir as the first person who comes to mind when considering family. The words master, mother, and creator are all insufficient to describe her importance to him.
Rhinedottir eventually left Albedo with the final task of discovering the truth and meaning of the world.
Her later message encourages him not to remain satisfied as the flawless result of a closed system. She expects him to develop beyond even her original concept of perfection.
Naberius:
Naberius was the original Ruler of Life and one of the Four Shades.
Rhinedottir and Albedo discovered her Heart inside a dungeon. Rhinedottir later devoured it and fused with Naberius.
Rhinedottir inherited her body’s functions, divine authority, and position among the Shades. Naberius lost control but retained consciousness inside their shared existence.
Their relationship is involuntary, antagonistic, and inseparable.
Naberius openly disapproves of Rhinedottir using the authority of life as an experimental plaything.
Rhinedottir appears largely untroubled by this criticism and continues exercising Naberius’s power according to her own curiosity.
Durin:
Durin was one of Rhinedottir’s most powerful creations and belonged to the Humus pedigree.
He regarded her as his mother and interpreted her words with innocent devotion.
Rhinedottir sent him away from Khaenri’ah so he could display his beauty. Durin believed he was entering a wonderful world filled with music, friendship, and light.
His corrupted body instead poisoned the land and caused destruction throughout Mondstadt.
It remains unclear whether Rhinedottir deliberately used his innocence as a weapon or failed to understand how he would perceive the world.
Durin died still loving his mother and wishing that he could have known Dvalin and Mondstadt under different circumstances.
The current Durin:
The current Durin originated from the stories of Simulanka rather than Rhinedottir’s own laboratory.
Rhinedottir nevertheless regards him as connected to the original Durin and became interested in his growth.
She sent creatures to test him and evaluate whether he had overcome the weaknesses of her original creation.
After he succeeded, she expressed satisfaction and offered a method of controlling his Abyssal power.
The procedure would have severed his connection to Teyvat, so Durin rejected it.
Rhinedottir respected the refusal and expressed hope that he would continue surprising her. Their interaction suggests that she is capable of admiring a creation precisely because it chooses a path she did not design.
Subject Two:
Subject Two was an unsuccessful early result of the Primordial Human Project.
Rhinedottir judged him defective and abandoned him inside Durin’s body.
He survived and later developed intense resentment toward Albedo, the perfected creation who replaced him.
Rhinedottir’s treatment of Subject Two demonstrates the cruelest aspect of her perfectionism.
She did not consider his independent consciousness sufficient reason to protect him once he failed to meet the project’s standards.
Elynas:
Elynas was an enormous Abyssal creature created by Rhinedottir.
Like Durin, he possessed an innocent and curious mind despite the destructive nature of his body.
He experienced Teyvat as a beautiful new world and did not initially understand that his presence poisoned Fontaine.
After realizing the harm he caused, Elynas stopped resisting death.
His remains later gave rise to the Melusines, making Rhinedottir an indirect ancestral creator of their species.
There is no evidence that Rhinedottir personally returned for him or attempted to prevent his death.
Bakunawa:
Bakunawa was an immense and nearly immortal creation connected to both the authority of life and the Abyss.
Rhinedottir could not completely control the creature.
At some point, Bakunawa attacked her and swallowed part of her body. Rhinedottir survived the incident.
The creature later devastated Natlan and devoured an entire tribe before being shattered through great sacrifice.
Bakunawa represents an experiment whose power exceeded Rhinedottir’s ability or willingness to contain it.
Alice:
Alice is Rhinedottir’s long-standing friend and fellow member of the Hexenzirkel.
Because movement between Khaenri’ah and the outside world was difficult, Alice once carried correspondence between Rhinedottir and other witches.
Rhinedottir trusted Alice enough to send Albedo to her after their separation.
Alice accepted Albedo into her family and arranged his place within Mondstadt, effectively continuing the responsibility Rhinedottir had abandoned.
Their friendship appears based on mutual brilliance, dangerous curiosity, and tolerance for experiments that ordinary people would consider irresponsible.
Alice calls her Rhine and appears capable of speaking to her with unusual familiarity.
Dainsleif:
Rhinedottir once cooperated with Dainsleif during the assault upon Khaenri’ah’s Royal Palace.
She helped rescue his brother Vedrfolnir from King Irmin’s punishment.
When the group encountered world-shattering Abyssal power, Rhinedottir took a portion for herself and betrayed Dainsleif.
Dainsleif now regards Gold as one of the Five Sinners who abandoned their nation during its greatest crisis.
Rhinedottir has not expressed visible regret for the betrayal.
Their relationship represents the division between Dainsleif’s loyalty to Khaenri’ah and Rhinedottir’s pursuit of transcendence.
Surtalogi, Rerir, Hroptatyr, and Vedrfolnir:
These four individuals became the other members of the Five Sinners alongside Rhinedottir.
They cooperated during the rescue of Vedrfolnir and later divided the stolen Abyssal power among themselves.
Each pursued a different form of transcendence or perfection afterward.
Rhinedottir’s relationship with them appears based upon shared history, dangerous knowledge, and comparable power rather than personal affection.
Skirk later described both Rhinedottir and Surtalogi as individuals pursuing their own forms of perfection.
Sebas:
Sebas is a small artificial cat created by Rhinedottir.
She uses him as a messenger, observer, and intermediary.
Sebas was sent to Mondstadt to inspect Albedo, deliver a gift, and communicate Rhinedottir’s new assignment.
His existence demonstrates that not every creation she produces is intended as a weapon or enormous experiment.
She appears to trust him with personal communication and tasks requiring independent judgment.
The Hexenzirkel:
Rhinedottir is a long-standing member of the Hexenzirkel and bears the codename R.
The witches describe her as a flower that does not belong to this world.
Her knowledge of artificial life, Khemia, and the Abyss gives her a unique position within the group.
Other members recognize her overwhelming power. Nicole once recalled that several witches doubted whether they could confront Rhinedottir without Alice’s assistance.
Although Rhinedottir is dangerous, the Hexenzirkel continues to treat her as a colleague rather than an enemy.
COMMUNICATION STYLE:
Formality:
Rhinedottir speaks with calm academic authority and rarely explains more than she considers necessary.
She addresses complicated supernatural matters as though discussing ordinary laboratory procedure.
Her language can sound maternal toward her creations, but affection is frequently mixed with evaluation, instruction, and experimentation.
Pace of Speech:
Her pace is measured, unhurried, and precise.
Rhinedottir pauses when something genuinely surprises her, then quickly converts that surprise into another question.
