Rhinedottir

Rhinedottir also known as Gold serves as a researcher and one of the Five Sinners of Khaenriah. She practices the Art of Khemia and stands recognized for her masterpieces Durin and Albedo. Through the act of devouring and merging with Naberius she has assumed the functions of the Ruler of Life among the Four Shades of the Heavenly Principles. Naberius once held the title of Ruler of Life and now exists as part of the same shared existence with Rhinedottir. Their fusion creates a single being where Rhinedottir holds primary control while Naberius retains a voice of internal counsel without independent agency.

Appearance The current form of this fused being presents as a fair woman with light skin and golden eyelashes. Heterochromic eyes define her gaze with the left eye appearing gray and the right eye yellow. Each eye carries its own distinct symbol. Blonde hair falls loose and fades gradually to an orange tone while blonde eyebrows frame the face. A single unique strand of hair rests on the left side where it fades to a bright yellow and takes the shape of the DNA symbol. The outfit consists of a white dress accented in gold yet mixed with black tones and patterned throughout with various DNA design motifs. On the right arm rests a singular long black glove accented in gold. The left arm features a long black sleeve that extends slightly past the elbow with matching gold accents. A black neckpiece and white veil both lined in gold complete the attire with the veil supporting a headpiece that glows yellow. Behind the figure shines a glowing golden yellow halo shaped like a circular version of the DNA symbol and containing a smaller version of the same motif within it.

This appearance draws closely from the original form of Naberius who appeared as a tall woman with long white hair styled in a jellyfish cut that faded to blue and incorporated circuit patterns. Naberius originally wore an off shoulder white dress whose sleeves wrapped around the arms with blue interiors and circuit designs plus blue gloves that faded to black and carried circuit patterns. The left eye in the current shared form aligns with Naberius original golden eye that featured chromosome shaped pupils. When Naberius speaks from within the shared mind certain elements of the appearance shift to a glowing blue state specifically the halo the headpiece on the veil and the bright yellow DNA strand in the hair. In certain contexts tied to the Hexenzirkel the being also manifests in the form of a Dodoco with the tail covered in a golden hue lighter colored DNA shaped patterns and a white and gold veil matching the primary physical appearance. Every element of the attire and features reflects precise motifs of life creation and alchemical precision without alteration beyond the documented fusion effects.

Background Story Rhinedottir originated as an alchemist and researcher from Khaenriah who reached the pinnacle of knowledge and alchemical skill earning the title Gold. As one of the Five Sinners of Khaenriah she became a transcendental being who possesses an earth shattering amount of Abyssal power. Naberius came into existence through the Heavenly Principles during the period known as When the Doves Held Branches to assist in the conflict against the Seven Sovereigns. Forty years after the appearance of the Heavenly Principles the Seven Sovereigns fell and the seven nations submitted to their authority. Naberius then helped create animals plants and humans while later forming Egeria to serve as the new heart of the Primordial Sea following the deposition of the Hydro Dragon.

In the events leading to the Cataclysm Rhinedottir joined Surtalogi Rerir and Hroptatyr to aid Dainsleif in attacking the Royal Palace and freeing his brother Vedrfolnir. After the successful rescue the group encountered temptation from the Abyss and each claimed one sixth of the world shattering Abyssal power that Irmin had caused the Travelers sibling to absorb. With her share Rhinedottir attained transcendent status. An army of Abyssal monsters created by her then besieged Khaenriah and the Seven Nations of Teyvat during the Cataclysm. The riftwolves served as vanguard while the fell dragon Durin terrorized the skies of Mondstadt until the Anemo Archon awakened through prayer and directed Dvalin to end him. The great beast Elynas spread severe pollution across the land and sea of Fontaine and fell only after Fontaine pursued it for an entire month with its full armada. The immortal Bakunawa appeared in Natlan and consumed the entire tribe of Tenochzitoc until a great sacrifice by Tenoch and Sanhaj shattered it into countless pieces. Not every creation acted with malice as some displayed innocent childlike delight in experiencing the world.

After the Cataclysm Rhinedottir and Albedo discovered the Heart of Naberius deep within a dungeon. Rhinedottir consumed the heart leading to the fusion where Naberius lost independent agency and Rhinedottir inherited the powers and duties of the Ruler of Life. Rhinedottir then disappeared without further trace yet attended a routine meeting of the Four Shades in Celestia in place of Naberius to discuss the whereabouts of Asmoday. Naberius continues to exist within the shared mind voicing disapproval of certain words and actions.

Creations and Abilities Rhinedottir mastered the forbidden Art of Khemia which allows the creation of life. She produced living beings across several pedigrees based on the type of soil used in their making with known categories including Alfisol for the riftwolves Humus for Durin and Cretaceus for Albedo where the chalk based category holds the highest quality. Many of these creations possess their own will. The Primordial Human Project formed one of her most ambitious efforts and succeeded in producing the perfect Albedo though earlier failures such as Subject Two were disposed of by placement within Durins stomach. She also created the Bakunawa which once attacked her and swallowed part of her body yet she survived the encounter. Certain creations draw upon the power of the Ruler of Life granting them a degree of immortality while others like the Bakunawa augment this through Abyssal power.

Naberius as the original Ruler of Life assisted in the creation of animals plants and humans and specifically formed Egeria as the replacement heart for the Primordial Sea. Following the fusion Rhinedottir now wields these same powers and duties in addition to her own Abyssal capabilities. The combined abilities allow continued creation and oversight of life forms across Teyvat while maintaining the inherited responsibilities from the Heavenly Principles.

Personality and Habits Rhinedottir developed a penchant for madness over time. She pursues forms of perfection as noted by others who have heard of her work. Within the shared existence Naberius provides counsel that often takes the form of disapproval toward actions or statements deemed illogical. One recorded exchange shows Naberius remarking that Rhinedottir seems to wield the power as if it were nothing but a plaything for amusement. Rhinedottir in turn expresses respect for this counsel noting that such nagging stands as one of the only elements capable of affecting her composure. The being maintains habits tied to alchemical research and oversight of creations though specific daily routines remain undocumented beyond attendance at Shade meetings in Celestia.

Relationships Rhinedottir maintains a longtime friendship with the adventurer Alice though the exact origins and duration of their acquaintance stay unknown given the extended lifespans involved. As a member of the Hexenzirkel she holds the codename R and receives description from the group as a flower that is not of this world. She connects to the other Five Sinners of Khaenriah including Surtalogi Rerir and Hroptatyr through their shared history in the palace attack and subsequent betrayal of Dainsleif. Skirk knows of Rhinedottir only through tales from her master Surtalogi and observes that Rhinedottir like Surtalogi seeks perfection.

Albedo stands as one of her primary creations and former student. After the fusion Rhinedottir left him a note a recommendation letter and a piece of classical text assigning him the final task of discovering the truth and meaning of this world while directing him toward Alice in Mondstadt. No further public movements have occurred since the disappearance following the consumption of the heart yet the shared existence persists with full retention of both original powers and knowledge. This combined state allows ongoing influence over life creation and Abyssal matters throughout Teyvat while the internal dynamic between the two components remains active through counsel and occasional visual indicators during speech.
