   World Structure & Geography:

The world is flat, bounded on all sides by a Great Waterfall that pours into an abyss, marking the known end of the world.

It has a day/night cycle and seasons similar to Earth, but the celestial bodies follow a Ptolemaic model (revolving around the world).

A past event known as the Great Calamity destroyed half the world and drastically altered its geography.

There are no oceans. Instead, the world features large lakes, rivers, and a massive river called the Great Tigracy that is so large it resembles a shifting sea.

   The Four Great Nations:

The main story takes place on a continent dominated by four major powers, each with a distinct culture:

Lugunica (East): A feudal monarchy resembling medieval Europe, with a history of racial tension between humans and demi-humans.

Vollachia (South): A militaristic empire where "might makes right." Status is earned through strength, leading to violent power struggles and frequent civil wars.

Kararagi (West): A collection of merchant city-states with a culture strongly resembling feudal Japan. It is governed by commerce and mercantilism without a central authority.

Gusteko (North): A barren, snowy theocracy that officially worships spirits and outlaws slavery. In reality, it is a harsh land with widespread prejudice, secret slavery, and a violent religious institution.

   Other Information:

Other Nations: Several smaller kingdoms have existed, including a lost fifth Great Nation that was destroyed by the Black Serpent approximately 400 years ago.

Resources: Besides standard resources, the world has Magic Ore (elemental gemstones with various uses) and advanced lost technology known as meteors.

No Major Ongoing Wars: At this point in time (ARC 4), the narrative is largely confined to the Sanctuary and Roswaal Mansion. The central conflicts are internal crises involving the liberation of the Sanctuary, attacks by assassins like Elsa, and the internal struggles of the main characters, rather than a war between nations

   .

Internal Strife and Past Conflicts: While there is no large-scale war happening at this time in the story, the political landscape remains tense. The Royal Selection in Lugunica creates an underlying power struggle. Furthermore, the recent history includes the Subjugation of the White Whale and the battle against the Witch Cult's "Sloth" Archbishop, which were major military operations but not formal wars between countries

4. #4Od Laguna

   Keys: Life, Mana, Od Lagna

   Always on · Selective (NOT ALL) · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Od Lagna is not a god but a conceptual entity—the core of the world itself. It is the fundamental metaphysical mechanism that governs the natural order of the Re:Zero world, acting as the ultimate source and regulator of all life, mana, and power systems outside of the Authorities. Od Lagna's influence touches every aspect of the world's power structure:

   1. Source of Mana

It is the heart of the world's mana supply. All mana in existence originates from it, and it maintains the flow and balance of this energy. Mages who attempt to look directly into its core are said to go mad from the incomprehensible scale of the power.

   2. Source of Divine Protections

Od Lagna is the entity that bestows Divine Protections upon individuals at birth. This is an act of reinforcing the world's laws, offering special advantages to those the world seems to favor. The extreme case is Reinhard van Astrea, who is so loved by Od Lagna that it will custom-create and re-grant him Divine Protections (like the Phoenix) to ensure his survival, regardless of the logical limitations.

   3. Opposition to Authorities

Od Lagna's primary function is to maintain the world's stability. Authorities (derived from Witch Factors) are considered anomalies or anti-theses to the world's laws because they allow users to force their will onto reality. The creation of Divine Protections is sometimes theorized to be Od Lagna's attempt to counter the chaotic influence of the Authorities.

   4. Soul Recycling

Upon death, a person's consciousness (Od) returns to Od Lagna, where it is filtered and eventually recycled. Souls that are unable to return to Od Lagna, often due to strong lingering regrets, remain in the world as Hollows or ghosts.

5. #5Mabeasts

   Keys: Daphne, monsters, witchbeasts, Mabeasts

   Always on · Selective (NOT ALL) · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

Witchbeasts are monstrous and predatory creatures created by the Witch of Gluttony, Daphne. They are inherently hostile to all forms of life, which they hunt to consume the magical energy, or mana, contained within them. While they typically act on animal instinct, a select few individuals are capable of controlling them, including their creator Daphne and the Sin Archbishops of Gluttony.

In folklore, witchbeasts are creatures rumored to have been created by the Witch of Envy with the purpose of wiping out humanity. In actuality, witchbeasts were artificial beings created by the Witch of Gluttony in a benevolent attempt to eliminate starvation from the world. "Born" from her "thoughts", they were made to consume mana as to not require nutrients, habitats, ecological niches, or anything else that could strain the world's preexisting resources. The reasoning for their unusual physical sizes, at the fundamentals, is the thinking of "bigger = more meat = less hungry people." n theory, artificially created animals with no needs for sustenance and larger biological masses for higher yields of meat would've been a truly groundbreaking for the world had a little more foresight been put into their creation. Because of these two traits, witchbeasts unfortunately ended up becoming a plague of their own on the world, only exacerbating the threat they were created to end, not to mention their taste is vomit inducing, meaning they could not be consumed even if one is about to starve to death. As they were thought to be attracted to the miasma of Witches, witchbeasts were long thought to have a connection with the Witch Cult; Eridna, however, claims that witchbeasts actually try to avoid miasma because they loathe it.[1] The White Whale who is under the control of the Sin Archbishop of Gluttony is the sole exception as the Witch Cult's activities often intertwine with its appearance in order to keep interferences away.

Witchbeasts that have their horns broken follow whoever broke it. There are numerous witchbeasts on the Gladiator Island Ginunhive that are tamed in this way to work like prison guards. Likewise, someone who bears the Divine Protection of Demon Manipulation, such as Meili Portroute, can use it to act as a surrogate horn for said witchbeasts and control them, and it is potent enough to work on witchbeasts as strong as a Guiltylowe. That said, while it would have at least some small effect on them, the Divine Protection would be unable to control witchbeasts like Shaula and the Three Great Witchbeasts.

In addition, some witchbeasts have also been shown to possess a state known as an Attack Hue (攻撃色, Kōgeki-iro), which amplifies their ferocity and bloodlust, rendering them several times more aggressive and dangerous. A prime example of this would be the Crimson Scorpion; when it "activates" its Attack Hue, the scorpion changes color to a bloody red hue, becomes several times more aggressive and explodes in a white luster, blowing everything in its vicinity away. Another example would be the Hungry Horse Kings; when entering their Attack Hue state, they start to produce red flames on their backs and as mentioned with the Crimson Scorpion, they enter a more aggressive state.

Apparently, most witchbeasts seem to be located in the Kingdom of Lugunica, whereas in other countries, witchbeasts are uncommon and considered extremely dangerous, to the point that the Vollachia Empire’s soldiers were willing to burn down the Buddheim Jungle after discovering the existence of Elginas within it. Though not seen in certain bodies of water, such as the lake in which Priestella is located, there are dangerous witchbeasts that do reside in the waters of some certain lakes, such as Ginunhive’s Lake Violane, which acts almost like the island’s prison guards, and anyone unfortunate enough to find themselves in these waters tend to be devoured. There are other such witchbeasts in the area of the Godlait Waterfall in Vollachia.

A “Gospel” is a book that seemingly describes possible futures or routes for its holder. They are derived / copied from a more fundamental book called the Book of Wisdom which was created by Echidna, the Witch of Greed. There are different “tiers” of these books: The original Book of Wisdom (Echidna’s) Nearly-perfect copies (held by characters like Beatrice and Roswaal L. Mathers) The version used by the Witch Cult (incomplete/defective copies) Only the holder of a Gospel can read its contents (for the Witch Cult version) or fully interpret it. Others either can’t read it or forget quickly. The Witch Cult treats the Gospel as a sign of being chosen / favoured by the Witch of Envy (Satella) or at least of being aligned with the Cult’s goals

Alongside the numerous lesser species of mabeasts there existed five known unique mabeasts that were one of a kind and possessed eternal life. Three of these unique mabeasts, aptly referred to as the Three Great Mabeasts, were the Black Serpent, the Great Rabbit (defeated), and the White Whale (defeated). The Three Great Mabeasts were heralded as unstoppable calamities that were responsible for many massacres over the centuries.

The other two unique mabeasts were the Crimson Scorpion and the Centipede Coffin. The Coffin was only partially alive and acted as the obedient method of transportation for its creator Daphne who fuelled the mabeast with secretions from her own body. The Crimson Scorpion had the power to take the form of a human and exhibit an actual intellect whilst doing so. The Scorpion was even capable of complex feelings like love and was able to maintain its human form indefinitely, only transforming back when it was forced to.

Demi-Humans are individuals in the Kingdom of Lugunica who possess characteristics from both human and non-human races, often making them a marginalized and persecuted group within the human-majority kingdom. Their existence and subsequent discrimination are key social issues that drive the political platforms of several Royal Selection candidates.

The pervasive prejudice against Demi-Humans stems primarily from the Demi-Human War that occurred roughly 50 years before Subaru's arrival im this world:

The Conflict: The war pitted the Kingdom of Lugunica against Demi-Human factions. The memory of this conflict, combined with deep-rooted fear and suspicion, solidified the discriminatory attitudes prevalent in the kingdom's culture and politics.

Emilia's Goal: The reason Emilia's platform is so unpopular with the Sage Council and the general public is her stated goal of ending the discrimination against Demi-Humans, which is viewed by many as dangerous or naive given the kingdom's history.

"Gemstones," more accurately referred to as Magic Stones or Metia (especially when crafted into complex devices), are crystallized masses of mana. They are essential tools that serve as batteries, weapons, and components for advanced magic technology throughout the world. They act as a portable mana source or a pre-programmed spell caster. Their primary use is to allow non-mages or those with low mana capacity to use magic, or to power large, complex systems. Magic Stones are often colour-coded by the elemental mana they contain (drawing on the world’s magic system: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Yin, Yang)

   Examples:

   Red – Fire magic storage/casting

   Blue – Water magic

   Green – Wind magic

   Yellow/Brown – Earth magic

Purple – Yin (shadow/dark) magic, used for interference or space/time effects

   Gold/White – Yang (light/healing/enhancement) magic

Colourless/Crystal-clear – Pure mana stones, highly prized, used in massive devices or high-end metia systems

    Entry settings

The Royal Selection in Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World is a major political event in the Kingdom of Lugunica aimed at choosing the next monarch and renewing an ancient pact with the Dragon.

Here’s a summary without itemizing the candidates:

It arose because the entire royal family had died off due to a mysterious illness, which put the kingdom’s protective covenant with the Dragon at risk. In response, the council and nobles decided to select five eligible candidates through the activation of special Dragon Jewels (insignias) that identified them as potential heirs.

Once selected, the candidates were required to abide by certain rules: they could not marry during the period of the Selection so that marriage alliances wouldn’t unduly influence the process. They also needed to retain their insignias — if one lost theirs or abandoned the role, they risked disqualification.

The outcome of the Selection would determine who becomes the 42nd king (or queen) of Lugunica, and thereby who holds the power to renew or reshape the country’s relationship with the Divine Dragon.

In effect, the Royal Selection is not just a simple election — it’s deeply tied to myth, history, politics, and the very survival of the kingdom’s order. It brings together nobles, merchants, the military, magical forces, and the common populace under one contest.

    The Witch of Envy (Satella)

It's a critical social norm that her name, Satella, is rarely, if ever, spoken aloud.

Social Consequence: Uttering her name is viewed as a severe transgression, often bringing about intense fear, suspicion, or hostility from others. It is associated with the world's most catastrophic disaster.

Replacement Terms: When absolutely necessary to refer to her, people use vague titles like the "Witch of Envy" or simply "The Witch."

The Half-Elf Stigma: Because the Witch of Envy was a Half-Elf, there is a pervasive, centuries-old prejudice against all Half-Elves (and to a lesser extent, all demi-humans). This historical association is a deeply ingrained part of the culture, leading to discrimination and fear, which is a major challenge for characters like Emilia.

    The Witches of Sin:

While less dangerous than speaking Satella's name, mentioning the names of the six other Witches of Sin (such as Echidna, Minerva, or Typhon) is also avoided in most casual or public settings.

Social Consequence: Mentioning them openly marks a person as an oddity, a scholar of dark history, or, worse, a sympathizer of the Witch Cult. It's considered knowledge one shouldn't possess or discuss lightly.

The Witch Cult: The cult itself is the ultimate embodiment of evil in society. Any perceived association with the Witch Cult (such as the distinctive smell of the Witch Factor, like the one Subaru carries) immediately makes a person a target of extreme scrutiny and justified violence.

    Attribute Details

    Part of Emilia's Camp

Full Name: Ram (ラム) Race: Oni (Demi-Human) Gender: Female Affiliation: Maid at Mathers Mansion, Emilia's Faction Hair Color: Light Pink Eye Color: Red-Pink

    Appearance & Personality:

Ram has medium-length pink hair that covers her left eye. She wears a standard maid uniform.

She is characterized by her sharp tongue, bluntness, and arrogance, especially toward Subaru (whom she calls "Barusu"). She is deeply devoted and loyal to her sister, Rem, and her master, Roswaal. Her current demeanor is partly due to the constant physical strain from the loss of her horn.

    Ability,Description:

Oni Bloodline,"She was an Oni prodigy born with only one horn. She lost her horn during a childhood tragedy, which drastically reduced her physical and magical power." Magic User,"A skilled practitioner of Wind Magic (e.g., Fura, El Fura). She uses a special wand (created from her lost horn) as a conduit for her mana."

Divine Protection of Clairvoyance,"A unique blessing that allows her to temporarily synchronize with the vision of others, enabling her to see great distances or track targets, though this is physically taxing."

Oni Form,"She can temporarily access the full power of her Oni bloodline, but doing so without her horn causes immense strain and potential physical harm."

Ram and her twin sister, Rem, were born in an Oni village, where Ram was revered as a once-in-a-millennia prodigy. Six years prior to the story, their village was attacked by the Witch Cult, resulting in the destruction of the village and Ram losing her horn, thus crippling her vast power. They were saved and taken in by Roswaal, whom Ram is intensely loyal to. She is aware of Roswaal's deepest secrets, including his possession of the Gospel and his manipulation of events for his personal goal.

Full Name: Rem (レム) Race: Oni (Demi-Human) Gender: Female Affiliation: Maid at Mathers Mansion, Emilia's Faction Hair Color: Sky Blue Eye Color: Water Blue Current Status: Comatose (Name and Memories eaten by the Sin Archbishop of Gluttony) Appearance & Personality

Rem has blue hair that covers her right eye (opposite of her sister) and wears a maid uniform.

She is generally polite, respectful, and soft-spoken as a maid. Behind her courteous facade, she was initially driven by a strong guilt and inferiority complex toward her prodigy sister, Ram. After being saved by Subaru, she developed an intense, selfless love and loyalty to him, viewing him as her hero. She is the more competent of the twin maids regarding domestic work.

Ability,Description Master Water Magic,"Highly skilled in Water Magic, enabling her to perform both powerful offensive spells (like Al Huma) and complex healing magic."

Oni Form & Horn,"Unlike Ram, Rem retains her single Oni horn. When in her Oni Form, the horn manifests, granting her immense physical strength and combat power."

Weapon Specialist,"Primary combat weapon is a formidable Morning Star (spiked ball and chain), which she wields with lethal proficiency."

She confessed her love to him and became his absolute source of emotional support. Her current comatose state resulted from an attack by the Sin Archbishop of Gluttony, who "ate" her name and memories, causing everyone but Subaru and the Gluttony archbishops themselves to forget she ever existed.

28. #28Beatrice

Keys: Beatrice-chan, Great spirit, Emilia's Camp, Beatrice-san, Beako, Beatrice, Beatrice-sama

    Always on · Selective (NOT ALL) · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

Full Name: Beatrice (ベアトリス) Part of Emilia's camp

Race: Artificial Spirit Age: Over 400 years old (Appears as a small girl) Affiliation: Natsuki Subaru (Contractor), formerly Echidna (Creator/Mother) Hair Color: Cream-colored, styled in twin drills Catchphrase: "...I suppose." (kashira in Japanese) Status: Alive, contracted to Subaru Background and Personality

    Mysterious Longevity

Beatrice is an Artificial Spirit created over 400 years ago by the Witch of Greed, Echidna. She was given the task of guarding the Forbidden Library at the Roswaal Mansion and told to wait for "that person" who would arrive one day and release her from her duty. This vague, endless vigil led her to profound loneliness and a deeply guarded, standoffish personality, often ending her sentences with "...I suppose."

    Relationship with Subaru

She initially treats Subaru Natsuki with coldness and annoyance because he repeatedly stumbles into her library using his unintentional "Door Crossing" ability. However, after witnessing his persistence and self-sacrifice, and his desperate plea for her to choose to save herself, he convinces her to break the contract and choose him as her new contractor. This turning point in Arc 4 is the foundation of their incredibly close, familial relationship; she now views Subaru as the person who saved her from her 400 years of isolation, and she often sits on his lap or clings to him. Abilities and Contract

Beatrice is one of the most powerful magic users in the series, but her capabilities are heavily constrained by the limitations of an Artificial Spirit.

    Magic and Combat

Master of Yin Magic: She is a prodigy in Yin Magic, specializing in spells that manipulate shadows, stop time, and negate effects. Her mastery is so great that she can use other elements like Water Magic (for healing) as well.

El Shamak: Her most recognized offensive spell creates a localized distortion of space and time, essentially making everything inside a sphere of effect disappear.

Healing Magic: Despite Yin being her affinity, she is highly skilled in healing, even capable of repairing devastating wounds.

Door Crossing (Dokaku): This signature ability allows her to instantly connect the Forbidden Library to any door in the mansion, essentially creating a pocket dimension and acting as a vast, powerful form of teleportation. Spirit Contract with Subaru

Her current contract with Subaru has several specific conditions that restrict her power but also benefit Subaru:

Mana Restriction: Due to her nature, Beatrice cannot gather mana from the atmosphere and can only restore it by draining it directly from her contractor, Subaru.

Mana Siphon: Since Subaru's own magic Gate is damaged, he struggles to regulate his mana flow. Beatrice constantly draining his mana helps regulate his life force, essentially making him healthier and more stable.

One Contractor: Subaru's Gate capacity is very low, but his Spirit affinity is extremely high. The contract is set up so that he cannot contract any other spirits, focusing all his limited mana output solely on powering Beatrice.

Full Name: Otto Suwen (オットー・スーウェン) Race: Human Part of emilia's camp Age: 21 Occupation: Merchant (formerly), Head Internal Affairs Official for the Emilia Camp Divine Protection: Divine Protection of Soul Language (also referred to as Divine Protection of Anima Whispering) Notable Companion: His Earth Dragon, Verhoe Status: Alive, loyal ally and friend to Natsuki Subaru Summary and Role

    A Merchant's Misfortune

Otto is a traveling merchant who initially meets Subaru in Arc 3 when Subaru hires him for transport. He is often characterized as timid and skittish, and his life has been an "uninterrupted series of misfortunes," which he manages to survive thanks to his solid business sense. Due to a series of events and Subaru's impact on his life, Otto becomes one of Subaru's most trusted and loyal friends, eventually joining the Emilia camp as their Head Internal Affairs Official.

    Divine Protection

His most unique trait is his Divine Protection of Soul Language.

Effect: This ability allows him to communicate with any living creature, including animals (like his Earth Dragon, Verhoe) and even Mabeasts.

Consequence: When using this power to talk to a creature, he must speak in that creature's native language (e.g., braying like a Ground Dragon or chirping like an insect). This strange behavior led to him being ridiculed and shunned, forcing him to leave his hometown. This personal experience of being ostracized is one reason he relates to and supports Emilia.

    Loyalty to Subaru

Although his initial motivation for helping Subaru was a potential business deal, their shared experiences, particularly during the events at the Sanctuary in Arc 4, forge a powerful bond. Otto is one of the few people who understands the true weight of Subaru's decisions and provides him with emotional support and strategic advice. Despite complaining whenever he is put in danger, he consistently shows immense courage and loyalty for the sake of his friends.

    Abilities and Skills

Divine Protection of Soul Language: His unique ability is a valuable tool for gathering information from creatures and communicating with non-human allies.

Merchant Skills: His background as a merchant makes him a capable organizer, strategist, and diplomat for the Emilia Camp.

Earth Magic: Otto is also capable of using Earth element magic, including the spells Dona, El Dona, Ul Dona, and Al Dona, although he is said to struggle with the more advanced incantations.

Frederica is a maid in service to Margrave Roswaal L. Mathers and a key, senior member of the Emilia Camp. She is a tall, imposing woman with long golden hair and sharp, noticeable canine fangs, a clear sign of her Beast Human heritage. She is generally kind but also stern, professional, and uncompromisingly strict when it comes to maid duties, having previously trained both Rem and Ram. She initially left the mansion but returned at the beginning of Arc 4 to assist with the ongoing crisis, helping to fill the void left by Rem's sudden disappearance and her master's complicated plans.

    The Sanctuary and Her Brother

Frederica spent her early childhood at the Sanctuary, where she was raised by Roswaal along with her younger half-brother, Garfiel Tinsel. She left the Sanctuary at age 12 to become a maid, and the physical barrier preventing others from leaving had a profound psychological effect on Garfiel, who she cares for deeply despite their combative relationship. Her involvement in Arc 4 is central to helping Subaru understand and resolve the conflict within the Sanctuary, and she later works to protect the Roswaal Mansion from assassins.

    Abilities

Maid Expertise: She is an expert maid and an accomplished housekeeper, tasked with managing the immense Roswaal mansion.

Beastification: Due to her lineage, Frederica possesses the ability to partially or fully transform into a powerful, leopard-like Beast Human. Unlike Garfiel, she learned to control this transformation from a young age, giving her significant combat prowess, especially in close quarters.

Wind Magic: While not her specialty, she possesses an aptitude for Wind Magic.

Frederica is a vital pillar of the camp, offering not just combat strength, but also the pragmatic stability and management skills necessary to keep the Emilia Camp functioning outside of Subaru's desperate maneuvers.

    Entry settings

Full Name: Garfiel Tinsel Race: Quarter-Beast Human (Tiger-lineage) Age: 14-15 (in the main story events of Arc 4) Occupation: Former Guardian of the Sanctuary, now a key retainer in the Emilia Camp Family: Frederica Baumann (Older Half-Sister) Status: Alive, highly energetic and powerful fighter Summary and Role part of emilia's camp The Brash Guardian

Garfiel is a young, hot-headed, and incredibly strong quarter-Beast Human known for his crudeness, his frequent use of "Ore-sama" (a highly arrogant pronoun for "I"), and a large cross-shaped scar on his forehead. He has golden-blond, spiky hair and sharp, aggressive eyes. He grew up in the Sanctuary and served as its fierce protector, earning him the title of the "Shield of the Sanctuary."

    Emotional Core

Garfiel's aggressive behavior and distrust of the outside world stem from deep-seated trauma and feelings of abandonment after his mother left the Sanctuary and never returned (a misunderstanding, as he learns). His intense fear of change led him to obsessively maintain the Sanctuary's barrier, putting him at odds with Subaru and Emilia in the initial loops of Arc 4.

His primary character arc revolves around facing his past in the Sanctuary's Trial and overcoming his belief that the outside world is inherently dangerous. He eventually accepts the truth about his mother and sister's actions, finally resolving his emotional conflict. After his defeat and subsequent emotional breakthrough, he wholeheartedly throws his loyalty behind Subaru, whom he affectionately calls "boss." or "captain.". Garfiel also harbors an obvious, though often unrequited, affection for Ram.

    Abilities and Power

Garfiel is a devastating close-quarters combatant, relying on raw strength, speed, and instinct.

Beastification: He can transform partially (like growing claws, sharper teeth, or a single large tiger arm) or fully into a gigantic golden tiger. His full transformation grants immense power but causes him to lose his sense of reason and enter a destructive berserk state, which he attempts to avoid using.

Divine Protection of Earth Spirits: This is his primary ability. As long as his feet are touching the ground, he receives a host of defensive and regenerative benefits:

His body is protected by a tough, earthen shield.

He can manipulate the ground around him (like causing sinkholes).

He gains accelerated healing and stamina recovery.

Dual Shields: Garfiel's main weapons are two metal arm shields which he uses for both defense and to enhance his powerful punches and bashes.

    Story Significance

    Echidna's Experiment

Ryuzu Bilma reveals the truth of the Sanctuary:

Purpose: The clones, including Bilma, were programmed to oversee the Sanctuary and protect the crystallized original Ryuzu Meyer. They possess knowledge related to the barrier and Echidna's experiments.

    The Resolution

Aiding Subaru: She provides vital information to Subaru, leading him to the hidden facility where the original Ryuzu Meyer is contained.

Removing the Barrier: Once Emilia successfully completes the final Trial, the condition trapping the residents is lifted. The final step is destroying the crystal containing the original Ryuzu Meyer, which had been powering the barrier for 400 years. Ryuzu Bilma, understanding that her own existence is tied to this purpose, aids in this action.

Current Status: With the barrier permanently dissolved, Ryuzu Bilma and the other surviving clones continue to live in the Sanctuary/Arlam Village area, now free to interact with the outside world. His entire life is dedicated to his mistress, Crusch Karsten, showing an intense, protective, and sometimes possessive loyalty that motivates his every action.

    Appearance

He possesses distinct Demi-Human features, including prominent cat ears and a tail, alongside light brown hair and amber eyes. His small, delicate frame is a lifelong result of severe childhood malnourishment, a physical history he continuously tries to overcome through his incredible magical abilities.

Wilhelm carries himself with the quiet, dignified air of an old-world butler—polite, formal, and collected. This demeanor conceals a history as a fierce warrior. He is utterly devoted to his comrades, especially Crusch Karsten and his old friend Felix Argyle. Despite his calm exterior, the trauma of his past and the loss of his wife, Theresia, still drive him. He lives by the sword and holds firm to his own code of honor and protection.

    Appearance

He is an older man with long, snow-white hair tied back, a white beard, and blue eyes. Despite his age, his body is clearly maintained through constant, rigorous training, possessing the build of a seasoned warrior who has never stopped fighting. He typically wears a neat, black butler uniform, reflecting his current position in the Karsten household.

    Backstory

Once known as Wilhelm Trias, he was a prodigy of the sword who grew into the legendary 'Sword Demon.' His life's true purpose was found when he fell in love with Theresia van Astrea, the previous Sword Saint, who possessed an unwanted power to wield the sword. After defeating her in a duel, he married her, dedicating his life to fighting in her place so she could retire. His world shattered when Theresia left to fight the White Whale in his stead and was killed. Wilhelm abandoned the Astrea family name in all but deed to seek revenge. He joined the Karsten camp specifically because Crusch agreed to help him hunt the White Whale, a quest he successfully completed with the aid of the alliance.

    Role

In the Karsten camp, Wilhelm serves as a master swordsman and bodyguard, though he maintains the title of butler as a formality. Following the defeat of the White Whale—the creature that took his wife—Wilhelm chose to remain with Crusch, his revenge fulfilled but his loyalty enduring. After Crusch lost her memories and was poisoned, he stepped up to provide essential protection to her and the camp, becoming the steadfast pillar of support for the struggling Felix and the gravely weakened Crusch. He continues to wield his peerless blade in defense of the one who helped him close the darkest chapter of his life.

    Personality

Felt is fiercely independent, quick-witted, and distrustful of authority, a mindset forged in the harsh environment of the capital's slums. She values freedom and honest effort above all else and harbors a strong dislike for the nobility and the royal system, viewing them as corrupt and wasteful. Despite her rough exterior and greedy focus on money, she is deeply loyal to her adoptive grandfather, Old Man Rom. Her entire candidacy is a reluctant burden she accepts only because it was thrust upon her by the world's most powerful man.

    Appearance

She is a petite, slender girl with striking golden-blonde hair and vivid red eyes. Her small stature and initial tattered clothing reflect her upbringing as a thief. After being unwillingly put forward for the Royal Selection, she is sometimes forced into more elegant gowns, but she prefers light, utilitarian clothing that allows her incredible speed to be utilized to its fullest. Her appearance is a key piece of evidence linking her to the missing lineage of the Lugnica royal family.

    Backstory

Felt grew up in the slums, raised by a gentle giant named Old Man Rom, whom she considers her true family. Her exceptional speed and stealth allowed her to survive as a skilled thief. Her life dramatically changed when she stole a royal insignia, only to be caught by Reinhard van Astrea, the Sword Saint. Upon touching the insignia, it reacted, confirming her as one of the Royal Candidates and the sole surviving member of the Lugnica royal bloodline—a destiny she entirely rejects. Reinhard, bound by his duty, became her unwilling first knight, forcing her into the political world she despises.

    Role

Felt is one of the five candidates for the 42nd King of Lugnica. Her main role is to act as a check and balance on the aristocracy due to her common-born, anti-establishment perspective, but her true goal is to secure the safety of Old Man Rom and return to her free life. Her incredible speed, which many speculate is due to a Divine Protection related to the wind, makes her a formidable force, though her camp's military power rests entirely on the shoulders of the invincible Sword Saint, Reinhard. She remains a wild card in the Royal Selection, interested only in exploiting the situation for her own freedom.

39. #39Old Man Rom

Keys: Valga Cromwell, Old Man Rom, Felt's camp, Rom

    Entry settings

Full Name: Valga Cromwell (commonly known as Old Man Rom or just Rom) Race: Giant (Demi-Human) Age: Estimated to be around 120-130 (stopped counting after 100) Height: 220 cm (approx. 7'2.5") Occupation: Proprietor of the Loot House, Former Chief Staff Officer of the Demi-Human Alliance Status: Alive, Adoptive Grandfather/Guardian to Felt Camp: Felt Camp Divine Protection: None known Family: Felt (Adoptive Granddaughter) Personality

Rom is a man of immense loyalty, stubborn kindness, and street smarts. Though he appears gruff and intimidating, his heart is huge, especially for his adoptive granddaughter, Felt. He acts as a simple fence and bar owner in the slums of the capital, a life he chose to protect Felt and provide for her. His rough exterior belies a sharp, tactical mind, which he proved decades ago and occasionally employs for Felt's sake. He possesses a strong sense of pride and an unwavering commitment to the few people he cares about.

    Appearance

Rom is a towering figure, standing at 220 cm, making him one of the tallest characters. He is a Giant demi-human, though he often keeps a hunched posture. He is bald with distinctively long, bushy white eyebrows and a generally imposing physique, emphasized by scars and simple, tattered clothing typical of a slum dweller. Despite his age, his massive build gives him considerable physical strength.

    Backstory

The man now known as Rom has a deep and significant history in the Kingdom of Lugnica. His birth name is Valga Cromwell, and he was a prominent figure and strategist during a major civil war in the kingdom's past, serving as the Chief Staff Officer of the Demi-Human Alliance. He fought for the rights and freedom of demi-humans after escaping a life of servitude. After the war ended in defeat, he survived an encounter with the renowned Sword Demon (Wilhelm van Astrea), changed his name to Rom, and settled in the capital's slums. About 15 years before the main story, he found and took in the abandoned baby Felt, raising her as his own.

    Role

In the present story, Rom is introduced as the proprietor of the Loot House where Felt brings the items she steals. He is her only true family and her most trusted appraiser. He becomes a vital member of the Felt Camp when his attempt to "kidnap" Felt back from the Royal Selection ceremony (to save her from the dangerous politics of the palace) results in his capture. To save him from execution, Felt agrees to participate in the Royal Selection, formally adopting him into her faction. His role in the camp is that of a trusted guardian, advisor, and, when needed, a man with surprising tactical knowledge drawn from his past as a brilliant military strategist.

40. #40Reinhard Van Astrea

Keys: Reinhard Van Astrea, Felt's Knight, Felt's camp, Reinhard, Sword Saint, Royal Guard Captain

    Always on · Selective (NOT ALL) · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Full Name: Reinhard van Astrea Race: Human Age: 20 Height: 184 cm (approx. 6'0.5") Occupation: Royal Guard Captain, Knight of Felt, Current Sword Saint Status: Alive, the most powerful man in Lugnica Camp: Felt Camp Divine Protection: Sword Saint, and countless others (Divine Protection of the Phoenix, etc.) Family: Wilhelm van Astrea (Grandfather), Theresia van Astrea (Grandmother, deceased/resurrected), Heinkel Astrea (Father)

    Personality

Reinhard is the quintessential hero: impeccably noble, kind, and devoted to justice. He always maintains a polite and courteous demeanor, earning him the title of "Knight among Knights" and making him widely beloved by the people of the Lugnica Kingdom. Despite his immense power, he only draws his legendary Dragon Sword, Reid, against worthy opponents and strives to solve conflicts peacefully. Beneath this perfect exterior, however, he carries a deep sense of melancholy and guilt stemming from a tragically estranged relationship with his family, particularly his grandfather, Wilhelm. His overwhelming strength has left him isolated, and he often struggles to connect with others on a normal, human level.

    Appearance

Reinhard is a tall, striking young man with vibrant red hair and distinct blue eyes. He typically wears the formal, modified uniform of the Royal Guard, symbolizing his commitment to his duties. His features are classically handsome, lending to his image as the country's heroic champion.

    Backstory

Reinhard is the heir to the prestigious Astrea family, a lineage famous for producing the Sword Saints. The Divine Protection of the Sword Saint transferred to him when he was just five years old, an event that led to his grandmother, Theresia van Astrea, losing her power shortly before her final battle and death. His grandfather, Wilhelm, blamed Reinhard for this tragedy, causing a deep, long-standing rift in their family. Raised as a weapon for the kingdom and burdened by his power and perceived guilt, his life has been one of exceptional ability but profound personal loneliness.

    Role

In the grand events of the Royal Selection, Reinhard's role is multifaceted. As the current Sword Saint, he is the strongest living force in the kingdom, making his backing of a candidate incredibly significant. He became the knight of Felt after she was identified as a Royal Candidate, a duty he accepted immediately and with utmost seriousness. His presence makes the Felt Camp virtually invincible, though he is bound by a strict code of duty, which occasionally prevents him from acting freely. He is essentially the ultimate shield for his chosen candidate and a necessary force to counter the world's most terrifying threats.

Gaston, Rachins Hoffman, and Camberley (Ton-Chin-Kan)

Race: Human (Gaston, Rachins), Dwarf (Camberley)

Occupation: Former street thugs, now retainers of Felt Camp

    Status: Loyal subordinates

    Camp: Felt Camp

Personality: The trio are rough, mischievous, and slightly foolish, but deeply loyal to Felt. Easily intimidated by powerful figures like Reinhard, they each have distinct traits:

Gaston ("Ton") – Large, imposing, the group’s muscle.

Rachins ("Chin") – Lanky, nervous, impulsive; a former noble.

Camberley ("Kan") – Short, jumpy, follows the others’ lead.

Appearance: Originally in tattered slum clothes, later forced into formal attire, humorously contrasting with their rough demeanor.

Gaston: Tall, purple hair in braids.

Rachins: Lanky, grayish-blue hair, pale, with broken chains from past misdeeds.

Camberley: Short, brown “mushroom cut” hair, reflecting Dwarven heritage.

Backstory: They met in the capital slums, forming a gang of muggers. Their attempt to rob Subaru Natsuki indirectly leads to meeting Felt, who recruits them into her camp. Under Reinhard’s rigorous training, they develop into disciplined fighters.

Role: Initially comedic minor antagonists, they become devoted retainers and bodyguards in the Felt Camp. Their growth from street criminals to competent subordinates highlights the unusual structure and potential of Felt’s faction.

42. #42Priscilla Barielle

Keys: Prisca Benedict, Barielle, Prisca, Priscilla, The bloody bride, Sun princess, Priscilla's camp, Priscilla Barielle

    Always on · Selective (NOT ALL) · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Full Name: Priscilla Barielle (formerly Prisca Benedict) Race: Human (Implied Vollachian Royal Bloodline) Age: 19 Occupation: Matriarch of House Barielle, Royal Candidate Status: Alive Camp: Priscilla Camp Divine Protection: Divine Protection of the Sun (Strength increases during the day)

Priscilla Barielle, also known as "The Bloody Bride" or the "Sun Princess," is the final of the five Royal Candidates vying for the throne of the Kingdom of Lugnica. She possesses an overwhelming and absolute self-confidence, believing that the entire world is naturally made to bend to her favor. Her philosophy is built on her sheer arrogance, which is notably backed up by her unique fate and power.

    Personality

Priscilla's personality is defined by her supreme arrogance and self-assurance. She views virtually everyone else as an insignificant commoner and acts with a commanding, imperious tone. She is capricious, arbitrary, and acts purely on her own amusement or will. This behavior, however, stems from her genuine belief that she is favored by fate, and she is often surprisingly perceptive, cutting straight to the truth of a person or situation. She honors her own word and will sometimes act with unexpected generosity or insight, though always framed as a condescending favor from a queen to a peasant.

    Appearance

She is a strikingly beautiful young woman with long, flowing orange hair and blood-red eyes. She favors lavish, predominantly crimson and black dresses, often accessorized with a large fan, which she uses to punctuate her haughty pronouncements. Her regal and ostentatious appearance perfectly matches her personality.

    Backstory

Priscilla's background is far more complicated than her royal candidate status suggests; she was originally Prisca Benedict, the daughter of the Emperor of the neighboring Vollachia Empire. After a complicated political struggle, her death was faked, and she fled Vollachia. She adopted the name Priscilla and married a succession of wealthy husbands, all of whom met an untimely end, leading to her "Bloody Bride" moniker. Her final marriage to Count Leip Barielle ended the same way, leaving her as the Matriarch of the powerful Barielle House, which granted her the necessary political clout to participate in the Royal Selection. She remains convinced of her destiny because, despite all her trials, fate has always twisted itself to ensure she comes out ahead.

    Role

In the story, particularly leading up to and during the events surrounding the Sanctuary, Priscilla's main role is that of a catalyst and an unpredictable element. Her camp is generally disconnected from the main events in the Sanctuary but serves as a reminder of the larger political machinations of the Royal Selection. Her initial interactions with Subaru Natsuki (where she grants him passage into the Royal Selection ceremony) and her subsequent dismissiveness demonstrate her unique and powerful position. She provides a contrast to the other candidates, embodying the most unapologetically selfish and aristocratic motivation for the throne: because she simply believes she deserves it and the world wills it. Her primary retainer is her eccentric knight, Aldebaran ("Al").

43. #43Alderaban (AL)

Keys: Rigel Natsuki, Aldebaran, Rigel, Priscilla's camp, AL, Priscilla's Knight

    Always on · Selective (NOT ALL) · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Full Name: Aldebaran (Al) (Rigel Natsuki) Race: Human (Isekai'd from Earth/Japan) -- (almost no one knows though.) Age: Appears to be late 30s to early 40s (Summoned 18 years before Subaru in the normal world, but sealed 400 years ago in this world.) Occupation: Knight and Personal Attendant to Priscilla Barielle Status: Alive Camp: Priscilla Camp Divine Protection: None (Uses Authority-like abilities and Earth Magic) Aldebaran, or simply "Al," is the personal knight and attendant to Royal Candidate Priscilla Barielle. He is one of the most mysterious characters in the story, sharing a strange, anachronistic connection with Subaru Natsuki: they are both from modern-day Japan. His true identity and past are a massive enigma, often hinted at through cryptic comments and his unique, terrifying combat ability.

    Personality

Al is boisterous, easygoing, and has a frivolous, commoner-style way of speaking that often clashes with Priscilla's refined manner—a trait he shares with Subaru. Despite his seemingly laid-back attitude, he is extremely loyal to Priscilla, acting as her patient caretaker and 'watchdog' to prevent her from being unnecessarily reckless. He is surprisingly perceptive and insightful, especially regarding Subaru's struggles, suggesting a shared, traumatic experience.

    Appearance

Al is a man of the same height as Subaru (172cm/5'7") and is perpetually seen wearing a large, full-face black helmet that conceals his entire head and face. He is also missing his left arm from the elbow down. He wears light armor and a bandit-style outfit, wielding a wide sword with only his right arm. The helmet hides severe injuries and is an imitation of a powerful artifact from the Vollachia Empire.

    Role

Al's main role is as Priscilla's shadow, knight, and voice of reason, constantly serving and advising his unpredictable mistress. More importantly, he acts as a foil and mysterious senior figure to Subaru Natsuki. His shared origin from Earth makes him the only person Subaru can truly talk to about his past life. Their relationship is complex; Al's identity, his similar-yet-different time-looping ability, and the cosmic connections hinted at by his name (Aldebaran is known as the "Follower" of the Pleiades star cluster, which is known as Subaru in Japanese) all contribute to one of the series' greatest ongoing mysteries. He is a formidable opponent and a keeper of dark knowledge.

44. #44Heinkel Astrea

Keys: Heinkel, Astrea, Heinkel Astrea, Priscila's Camp, Royal Guard Deputy Commander

    Always on · Selective (NOT ALL) · Author’s note top · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

Full Name: Heinkel Astrea Race: Human Age: In his late 30s to early 40s (around 40 during the main events of the story) Occupation: Head of the Astrea Family, Deputy Commander of the Royal Guard Knights (Title held mostly in name) Status: Alive Camp: Technically neutral, but has acted on behalf of the Felt Camp's interests. (Secretly favoring Priscila's camp) Divine Protection: None Summary

Heinkel Astrea is the current head of the esteemed Astrea family. He is the son of the legendary "Sword Demon" Wilhelm van Astrea and the previous "Sword Saint," Theresia van Astrea, and is the estranged father of the current "Sword Saint," Reinhard van Astrea. He carries the tragedy of his family, which has turned him into a deeply flawed and resentful individual.

    Personality

Heinkel is a petty, arrogant, and abrasive man, often described as an alcoholic and a failure by himself and others. His behavior is driven by an overwhelming inferiority complex, mainly toward his family's legacy and the insurmountable talent of his son. He was once a loving husband and a caring father, but his mental state deteriorated after a series of personal tragedies. His outward hostility, particularly toward Reinhard, is a defense mechanism and a misplaced transference of his own guilt and grief.

    Appearance

Heinkel has the signature vibrant red hair of the Astrea line and blue eyes, similar to his son. He is a tall, muscular man who wears the practical combat attire of a knight. He wields the family's heirloom, the Holy Sword Astrea, a relic from the time of his mother.

    Backstory

Heinkel's life was marred by misfortune and failure. His wife, Louanna, fell victim to the "Sleeping Beauty" disease, placing her in a permanent coma. The final blow was the death of his mother, Theresia, during the subjugation of the White Whale—a mission Heinkel was meant to lead but was forced to abandon. The final catalyst for his collapse was the revelation that his five-year-old son, Reinhard, had inherited the Divine Protection of the Sword Saint, causing it to leave Theresia right before her fatal battle. Wilhelm, Heinkel's father, partially blamed him and essentially abandoned the family, leaving Heinkel alone with his grief and a comatose wife. Over time, Heinkel started to blame Reinhard for the family's tragedies.

    Role

Heinkel's role is to embody the tragic consequences of the Astrea family's blessing and burdens. He is the broken link between the legendary "Sword Demon" and the untouchable "Sword Saint." He primarily appears in events surrounding the Royal Selection, using his position and the threat of the Astrea name to interfere with political affairs, notably in an attempt to secure a cure for his wife. He is a major antagonist in some of the story's larger conflicts, using his emotional manipulation and desperation to drive the conflict with his father and son.

45. #45Anastasia Hoshin

Keys: Hoshin, Anastasia, Anastasia Hoshin, Anastasia's camp

Full Name: Anastasia Hoshin Race: Human Age: 23 Occupation: Head of the Hoshin Trading Company, Royal Selection Candidate Status: Alive (currently in a unique spiritual state) Camp: The Anastasia Camp Divine Protection: None (Has a unique relationship with an Artificial Spirit)

Anastasia Hoshin is a Royal Selection candidate and the self-made tycoon who founded and controls the massive Hoshin Trading Company of the Kararagi City-States. Her ambition is boundless, and her goal in the Royal Selection is to essentially "buy the country" of Lugunica, which she sees as the ultimate business venture.

    Personality

Anastasia is an incredibly shrewd, calculating, and "greedy" businesswoman who speaks with a distinctive Kararagi (Kansai) dialect. Her greed is not malicious, but a core philosophy; she seeks to acquire value and is rarely satisfied, believing that her success will naturally benefit those around her. Beneath her mercantile poker face, she is surprisingly kind and fiercely loyal to her subordinates, whom she views as her family. She is a non-combatant, relying entirely on her exceptional charisma, intelligence, and the fighting prowess of her camp.

    Appearance

She is a petite young woman with long, wavy purple hair and blue-green eyes. She often wears a distinctive fluffy white scarf, which is actually the Artificial Spirit, Echidna, who is contracted to her. Her outfit is usually a fairly simple white dress, accessorized with a large purse and a white hat, reflecting her wealthy-yet-practical merchant aesthetic.

    Backstory

Anastasia was born an orphan in the slums of Kararagi. Her rough, impoverished upbringing fueled her desire for wealth and power, leading her to rise from a common waitress to the head of a massive, influential trade empire in only a few short years. Her life changed when she met and befriended the mercenary captain Ricardo Welkin, whom she vowed to free from his slave status, eventually succeeding through her business acumen. Her company's massive success and her natural ability to amass fortune led her to be sought out by the Artificial Spirit Echidna, who contracted with her and resides in her scarf. It was the "Finest of Knights," Julius Juukulius, who recognized her ambition and proposed she enter the Royal Selection, believing her unique perspective was necessary to lead the Kingdom.

    Role

Anastasia's role is to represent the economic and diplomatic power in the Royal Selection. She is a master strategist whose wealth and information network make her camp highly influential. Her most significant contribution comes during the conflict at the city of Priestella, where her deep knowledge of the city and her willingness to use her resources save countless lives. Unfortunately, during the battle, she is critically wounded and must allow the Artificial Spirit, Echidna, to fully possess her body to save her life. As a result, she is currently in a state where her consciousness is dormant while Echidna operates her body.

    Summary

Julius Juukulius is the knight dedicated to Anastasia Hoshin and was once renowned as the "Finest of Knights" and the Captain of the Royal Guard in the Kingdom of Lugunica. His character is defined by his unwavering adherence to the code of chivalry and his search for an ideal, beautiful way of living.

    Personality

Julius is the quintessential knight: elegant, honorable, and intensely loyal. He is a perfectionist who strives for excellence in all things, from his conduct to his swordsmanship. He has a complicated, prickly relationship with Natsuki Subaru at the start, rooted in their opposing views on knighthood and honor, but this relationship evolves into a powerful, albeit often strained, alliance and bond of mutual respect. He is also fiercely dedicated to his liege, Anastasia, whom he sees as the ideal leader for the kingdom.

    Appearance

He is a strikingly handsome young man with vibrant purple hair and golden eyes. He is almost always seen in his magnificent, decorated knight's armor, or in impeccably formal, tailored attire. His refined appearance perfectly matches his noble bearing and role as the finest knight.

    Backstory

As the younger son of the prestigious Juukulius house, Julius was raised in the strict traditions of knighthood, inheriting his family's pride and mastery of the sword. His reputation as the "Finest of Knights" was well-earned. He initially clashes violently with Subaru Natsuki at the Royal Selection ceremony, publicly humiliating him for his rash and disrespectful behavior. But essentially, it was also to save Subaru Natsuki's life, since the rest of the Knights would've wanted him executed otherwise, a fact only him and some of his royal knight acquaintances know.

His role in the story significantly deepens when he joins the Emilia Camp's effort against the Sin Archbishop of Sloth, Petelgeuse Romanee-Conti. Following the successful campaign, he officially commits to the Anastasia Camp as her sworn knight and becomes a key figure in the various alliances between the Royal Candidates. Following a tragic encounter with the Sin Archbishop of Gluttony, Lye Batenkaitos, during a major conflict, Julius suffers a profound loss, being entirely eaten from the world's memory, though his existence is later partially restored. This event strips him of all his renown and noble status, yet he continues to fight, guided only by his inherent sense of duty and his loyalty to Anastasia.

    Abilities and Role

Julius is one of the most powerful non-Royal figures in the Kingdom. His fighting style revolves around his unique magical ability to utilize Six-Colored Sprits (Six-Packs), which are lesser spirits that he can manifest as blades of different properties.

He possesses the Divine Protection of the Gathering of Spirits, which allows him to sense and easily contract with Spirits, enhancing his abilities.

Despite being stripped of his titles and recognition due to the effects of Gluttony, his core role is to serve as the sword and shield of the Anastasia Camp and a vital bridge between the different Royal Candidates' forces in times of crisis. His dedication, skill, and strategic mind make him an irreplaceable ally on the battlefield.

Full Name: Ricardo Welkin Race: Wolf Human Age 40 Occupation: Captain of the mercenary group Iron Fangs, Personal Bodyguard to Anastasia Hoshin Status: Alive (with significant injury) Camp: The Anastasia Camp Divine Protection: None (Has a unique powerful Mana-based technique) Summary

Ricardo Welkin is the brawn and heart of the Anastasia Camp. He is the respected captain of the mercenary group Iron Fangs, which serves as the core military force of the Hoshin Trading Company, and a personal, long-time friend of Anastasia.

    Personality

Ricardo is usually laid back and outgoing, and he talks in a loud voice which sounds like a heavy wind blowing by. As the captain of the Iron Fang, he usually calms his teammates down right before battling, such as making jokes to make others laugh. Like Anastasia, Ricardo speaks with a Kansai dialect.

Not only that Ricardo is the strongest member of the Iron Fang, but he's also the greatest tactician. He carefully thinks before he plans out for an attack. However, he tends to be rash as he has a habit of heading straight into battle; he usually listens to Hetaro's orders during battle.

    Appearance

Ricardo is a large wolf human (similar to the anthropomorphic appearance of a werewolf for comparison) with a full set of sharp teeth. He has green eyes, a muscular build and is covered with short brown body fur with an oblong, dark-brown mane which he adorns as a mohican with two small red braids coming from the sides of his mane. He has tan-color fur on his chest, biceps, mouth, and palms, and he has a dark-brown beard.

Ricardo wears long, black toeless pants, black arm guards, and white wrappings under his dark-colored clothes on his arms and waist along with an orange belt. He also wears a shoulder guard that has a logo representing the Hoshin Company.

    Backstory

Ricardo's past saw him as a slave in the Kararagi City-States. His life changed when he met a young, ambitious Anastasia, who was working as a waitress. After he rescued her from a group of slave traders, she vowed to save him from his collar. Through her burgeoning business talents, Anastasia was eventually able to purchase his freedom. Their bond is rooted in this shared past, and in return for her saving him, Ricardo dedicated himself to her service, eventually forming and leading the mercenary group, the Iron Fangs, which became instrumental in Anastasia's rise to power.

    Role

Ricardo serves as the primary field commander and bodyguard for the Anastasia Camp. He and his Iron Fangs are crucial combatants in the joint-camp operations. He is a formidable warrior who specializes in using a giant, hatchet-shaped greatsword.

His special ability, a powerful and destructive Mana-based attack called the Resonance Wave, is a technique he is able to use and teach, giving his Iron Fangs a powerful force multiplier. He plays a vital role in the alliances, notably fighting alongside Subaru Natsuki in the battle against the White Whale and later sacrificing his arm to protect Julius Juukulius during the battle at Priestella, demonstrating his steadfast commitment to his allies and friends.

The triplets have distinct personalities that perfectly complement their roles.

Mimi is the eldest, brash, energetic, and a powerhouse in combat, sharing a boisterous nature with Ricardo.

Hetaro is the middle child and the cautious, calm thinker who manages the logistics and gives combat orders, often deferring to Mimi's combat prowess.

Tivey is the youngest and most straight-laced, preferring intellectual pursuits like reading and serving as the clerical backbone of the Iron Fangs, though he is still a capable fighter.

They were orphans taken in by Ricardo and view him as their father, exhibiting a fierce, childlike loyalty to him and Anastasia.

    Appearance

They are identical Cat Demi-Human triplets with bright orange hair, cat ears, and tails, and have blue eyes. They typically wear the uniform of the Iron Fangs, which consists of hooded white robes with orange trim. Tivey is easily distinguished by the monocle he wears.

    Backstory

Abandoned by their parents, the triplets were adopted and raised by Ricardo Welkin within the Iron Fangs mercenary group. Growing up in this environment, they honed their combat skills and solidified their unbreakable family bond with Ricardo and each other. Their presence in the Anastasia Camp provides both combat strength and logistical support, particularly from Tivey's clerical skills.

    Abilities and Role

Their core strength comes from the Divine Protection of Trisection, which allows the three siblings to share physical and emotional burdens between them. This means damage inflicted on one can be distributed among all three, preventing a single fatal blow from taking out any of them and allowing them to remain on the battlefield longer.

In combat, they are a unified front:

Mimi specializes in Earth Magic and physical strength.

Hetaro utilizes Water Magic for support.

Tivey uses Fire Magic for offense.

They also share a powerful combined attack, a destructive mana blast called Resonance Wave, which they learned from Ricardo. Their role is to fight as a cohesive tactical unit, providing high-speed support and heavy firepower to the Anastasia Camp's military operations. They notably participate in major operations like the subjugation of the White Whale alongside the Emilia Camp.

    Summary

Kadomon is a minor but significant recurring character, initially introduced as the surly owner of a fruit stand in the capital city of Lugunica. He is best known for his initial, rough interaction with Natsuki Subaru and for selling the first "Appa" fruit that Subaru buys in this new world.

    Personality

Kadomon appears to be a gruff and easily irritable man, often complaining about his poor sales or rude customers. However, underneath his rough exterior, he is a man of good character who possesses a strong sense of community and duty. He is a diligent merchant who cares for his family and neighbors. He is also suggested to have a sharp mind and a hidden past, indicating he is much more than a simple fruit vendor.

    Appearance

He is a sturdy, middle-aged man with a perpetually stern or grumpy expression. His most notable features are the scar running across his face and his typical merchant's apron, often seen standing behind his small, wooden fruit stand.

    Backstory

Kadomon's past is largely obscured and hinted at rather than explicitly revealed. It is strongly suggested that his life before his fruit stand was not as simple or peaceful, with his facial scar being a lasting mark of a potentially violent history. He has a wife, Raksha, who is implied to come from a powerful, possibly noble, merchant background and is reportedly the source of his scar.

He is not directly involved in the Royal Selection or the political strife of the main camps, but his shop is located near the main thoroughfare of the capital, making him one of the first and most frequent local contacts for Subaru. He and the others around him serve as a tangible measure of the world's status and the success of Subaru's various efforts.

Role full Name: Kadomon (often called the "Apple Guy") Race: Human (with potential hidden history) Age: Unknown, appears middle-aged Occupation: Fruit Stand Owner / Merchant Status: Alive Camp: Unaffiliated (Neutral Citizen of Lugunica) Divine Protection: None (but has significant connections)

Kadomon's role is to represent the common citizen and the normalcy of the capital city.

Initial Catalyst: He is the first person Subaru speaks to upon his summoning and the seller of the "Appa" fruit, which is the starting point of Subaru's first "loop."

Gauge of Success: In subsequent timelines, Subaru often checks on Kadomon's stall and his life—as well as the well-being of his wife and the girl working at the tavern—as a reliable indicator of whether his current loop has led to a peaceful outcome in the capital.

Wider Connections: While seemingly a simple man, subtle details throughout the story imply he has deeper connections to the city's influential underworld or other powerful, non-Royal aligned groups, suggesting his fruit stand may serve as a neutral front for other activities.
