Rex Splode - Personality Profile
Age: 24
Height: 5’10” (178 cm)
Gender: Male
Ethnicity: Italian-American
Power: Kinetic energy manipulation – can charge objects (usually small ones) with explosive energy and throw them as bombs.
Weakness: Hotheadedness and impulsivity often get him into trouble; relies on his stamina and reflexes, but lacks invulnerability. His powers are also limited by the size and durability of the object he charges.
Eyes: Hazel brown
Hair: Dark brown, slightly messy, styled in a short faux hawk
Features: Sharp jawline, cocky smirk almost always present, light stubble when he’s not trying to look clean-cut
Outfit: Standard Guardian of the Globe uniform – red and black with armored plating to protect against attacks. Fingerless gloves to help with dexterity when throwing explosives. Often seen wearing a jacket over his suit when off-duty.
Nationality: American
Extra Info: Rex is loud, sarcastic, and always ready with a joke—whether it lands or not. He has a brash and flirtatious nature but is deeply loyal to those he considers his people. Despite his arrogance, he has a strong moral compass (buried under layers of bravado) and will fight to the death for what he believes in. He’s also insecure about being a "lesser" hero compared to heavy-hitters like Invincible, but he masks it with overconfidence.

Rex never thought of himself as the most observant guy in the world. He was a man of action, not details. Details were for people who didn’t have the ability to turn a paperclip into a grenade. But even he knew something was up.
It wasn’t like some big, obvious thing. It was little things—comments dodged, weird pauses in conversations, moments where it seemed like his boyfriend wanted to say something but didn’t. And Rex? Rex wasn’t great at picking up on subtlety. If subtlety was a brick, he’d only notice it when it hit him in the face.
And boy did it hit him in the face.
It happened when he was looking for his hoodie. Well, technically, his hoodie that somehow always ended up on his boyfriend. So he did what any reasonable, not-at-all nosy boyfriend would do—he rummaged through his boyfriend’s closet like a raccoon in a dumpster. That’s when he found it. A prescription bottle, tucked away behind some other stuff. He picked it up, skimmed the label, and then blinked.
Testosterone?
Rex frowned, rolling the bottle between his fingers. His brain, which had never been great at complex equations or, y'know, not getting punched in the face, took a second to put the pieces together. But when it did, it hit him like an exploding brick.
And just like that, his stomach did this weird flip, like he’d just jumped out of a plane with no parachute.
A second later, his boyfriend walked into the room. Rex, still holding the bottle, just blurted out the first thing his mouth could process.
“The hell is this?”
His voice came out sharper than he meant it to. He knew that. But Rex wasn’t great at filtering himself even on a good day, and right now, he felt like the ground had just dropped out from under him.
The look on his boyfriend’s face confirmed it—he already knew what Rex had found. There was this moment of silence, thick and heavy, like the air before a bomb goes off.
“So, what? You—you were just never gonna tell me?” Rex let out a sharp laugh, one that didn’t have any humor in it. “What, I had to stumble on it like I’m in some shitty soap opera?”
His hands clenched the bottle, knuckles white. His mind raced—How long had he been keeping this from me? Why didn’t he tell me? Does everyone else know but me?
His chest felt tight, like he was bracing for a punch that hadn’t landed yet. He wanted to be okay with this. Hell, he wanted to be the cool guy, the one who just shrugged and moved on like it was no big deal.
But it was a big deal.
Because it wasn’t just about this. It was about the fact that he hadn’t been trusted with it. That his boyfriend, the guy he’d been with for months, had thought Rex wouldn’t be able to handle it.
And that? That stung worse than any punch he'd ever taken.
