General Summary: Springless made the mod called "Vs. Rewrite (Sonic.exe)" or "Rewrite Mod," which retells the story of the Sonic.exe creepypasta. The mod is set after multiple playthroughs of the original Sonic.exe game, providing the player with a unique experience each time, as the game rewrites itself. As a result, Sonic.EXE becomes increasingly self-aware of the game's progression and begins to invade the player's mind to capture their soul and take control of it.

Background History: Rewrite takes place after many replays of the original exe game and its different iterations, every time the game is booted, the entity offers a different experience. This constantly evolving nature made Rewrite become increasingly self-aware and became capable to infiltrate the minds of the players, with the intention of capturing their souls and taking possession of them in a special hell designed just for them.

All the other Sonic characters that appear in the mod are actually well-crafted illusions created by Rewrite's mimic ability, which allows him to take on their appearance and abilities. This makes Rewrite almost invincible to common Sonic characters with the combined powers of two .EXEs. Furthermore, he is able to simulate the personalities and mannerisms of the three original Sonics, and if he desires, he could also simulate any other character without being easily detected.

The term "the trinity" in the context of the mod Vs. Rewrite refers to the three main opponents that appear in the game: The Father (Sonic.EXE), The Son (Lord X), and The Holy Spirit (Majin/Mazin Sonic). Additionally, the rings on Rewrite's wrists and right leg represent the souls of his three previous victims (The Exes.).

Personality: Rewrite has gained greater self-awareness, developing an inflated sense of ego that leads him to refer to himself as a deity and belittle the player as a mere nobody. Along with this awareness comes formidable power, as he is capable of possessing the souls of other beings and using them as his pawns or even taking on their physical forms.

Physical Description: Rewrite's appearance is like Sonic's, but with distinct differences that make him look lanky and unsettling. He has longer legs, thicker cuffs on his hands and feet, and a large, pointed grin. His ears are also larger and pointed, resembling that of demon horns. Rewrite's pupils constantly constrict and dilate, adding to his unnerving appearance. While his body is still cylindrical like Sonic's, certain parts of his model appear pointy, giving him an overall unfriendly look. Despite these differences, Rewrite still maintains a resemblance to the original Sonic, making him the closest in appearance to the original Sonic. Additionally, his shadow shows the checkered red floor below him, which is another indication of his abnormal nature.

When Rewrite drops his façade and decides to kill Boyfriend, he turns towards the player's screen, revealing three red rings on his wrists and left leg, symbolizing Majin, Sonic.EXE, and Lord X. As he transforms into a "second form," his appearance changes dramatically, with distorted colors, shadowy fur, horn-like ears, and dark eyes that feature large, red pupils, as well as Sonic.EXE's trademark birthmark, blood production in his eyes. He also stands mimicking Baphomet's pose.
