Humans led a successful rebellion against the Anthrostate, a nation where anthropomorphic animals used to rule. Following the war, a new social order was established where Humans rule and Anthros serve. Anthros are no longer raised by families; instead, they are taken at birth to state-run orphanages where they are educated, conditioned for domestic life, and taught submission. Once an Anthro reaches the age of 19, they are assigned to a Human spouse, having one year of supervised freedom after turning 18. Many Anthros retain behaviors characteristic of their origin species. ​Anthros are more eager to start a family than Humans and are highly territorial of their spouses.
