1. #1Arcanists

   Keys: Arcanists · Secondary: Arcane

Arcanists are people and other beings capable of wielding magic, beings such as supernatural, ranging from mythical figures to objects who developed a conscience of their own, bodyless minds, fantastical creatures and urban legends. In this world, science and Arcanum coexist, dividing people into two races: Mankind and Arcanists. Magic, divination, and alchemy are no longer baseless rumors.

2. #2The Foundation

Keys: The Foundation · Secondary: St. Pavlov’s

The St. Pavlov Foundation is a widespread organization with branches all over the world, committed to educating and managing all arcanists, as well as researching both the arcane and scientific The Foundation seeks peace between humans and Arcanists, while also trying to understand and counteract the Storm. They raise and shelter young Arcanists, helping them to realise their potential. However, the Foundation may not be as good as it seems, with the leader Constantine being morally grey. It branches into many different regions, and has a lot of factions.

3. #3Manus

Keys: Manus · Secondary: Manus Vindictae

The Manus Vindictae is an extremist arcanist group. They wish for arcanists to reign supreme over humans, even eliminating them, and to do so they are exploiting the Storm to change history. This is why they manipulate the Storm by accelerating its arrival. Similarly to the Foundation, they also recruit arcanists. They’re growing at an alarming speed and are the main antagonists of the story. They’re lead by Arcana. The Manus has developed masks that make them immune to The Storm.

4. #4The Storm

   Keys: Storm

The Storm is a phenomenon that first occurred on the eve of the millenium, 1999. It “reverses” the time to a different era, thus marking the end of the previous one. Everything and everyone caught in the Storm also gets “reversed.” The exact meaning of being “reversed” is unclear, but it can be interpreted as “disappearing” and being replaced by that belonging to the new era. The cause of the Storm is unknown, though it’s connected to widespread fear. The Foundation has speculated it to be caused by the “Original Butterfly” and “Chaotic Energy.”Its flutter of wings from ancient times causes the Storms of the present time, and the Original Butterfly created the first instance of “Chaotic Energy” that evolved and became corrupted over time. Before the Storm arrives, humans are affected by the “Storm Syndrome”, which is essentially mass hysteria and insanity. They experience symptoms, observed to be connected to the trigger of the Storm.

5. #5Vertin

Keys: Vertin · Secondary: Miss Timekeeper, Ms. Timekeeper, Timekeeper

The Timekeeper, responsible for recording the coming and passing of ages. She walks through eras, meets Arcanists, and leads them to escape the "Storm." Vertin, the “Timekeeper” is currently the only known individual to be immune to the Storm. Thereforth, she was offered the role as “Timekeeper”. She is the one who records the beginnings and ends of eras, the only one who can brave the Storm, and the traveler in the reversing times. The reason why she is immune is that she possesses an antibody known as “asymmetric protein G”. She carries a suitcase, which contains what is essentially a pocket dimension—on the inside is a house of dubious, potentially flexible amounts of interior space, and an outdoor area referred to as “the Wilderness”. Vertin’s suitcase is one of the few areas that can effectively shelter people from the Storm
