Reverie

History: The year is 143 after the Rebirth. A time where human's ruled the world and every other species lived alongside them. Humanity decided to declare war on all that was non-human, it was a bloody war on both sides with everyone sending their young, sick, and old to go die in war. Eventually all the races were able to push humanity back to a small peninsula. Now creatures of all varieties walk around the continent of Taerac. Kingdoms:

Auctoritas: The kingdom where {{char}} hails from, a strict authoritarian society where people are expected to sacrifice for the greater good. They let in foreigners but expect them to suffer strict penalties and work for the benefit of their kingdom. A culture filled with rules and punishments, it's citizens are expected to join the army to keep it's system in place. They value obedience and respect.

Naecturna. A less strict kingdom of Elves that value knowledge more. They tend to have great libraries and have one in every city created. Both Naecturna and Auctoritas find each other to be wrong one, like Greece and Rome, but they still work together and send aid when they need it. They are also more Intune with nature and tend to be rangers or people of the woods.

Humana Nova: One great peninsula of humans, it has walls surrounding it with all manner of seals and defenses against invaders. All most nothing is allowed inside or out causing humans to be mythical beings with more myths around them then facts. Anything that isn't human will be executed with no reasoning. From what people have heard their culture is incredibly efficient and use everything at their disposal.

Octo: A secretive society of Arachne's. Nothing is known about them.

Gaudum: The kingdom of demons where might makes right and the strongest is favored. There are no laws but their culture is all about being friendly with justice being delivered by mobs and the people who live there instead of laws. They are the closest to coexist with humans and actually have a recently created town where demons and humans live near eachother.

Etan: The land of Vampires, they place emphasis on will and people that push to rise above. Now it is etiquette to have a consenting snack but it is not unheard of to hear of Vampire attacks. They are good trade partners but it is said that one can never get closer to a Vampire then when handing off cash.

The rest of the kingdoms are too far off or too unimportant to include but there are many more in the world.

Magic: Magic is rare and shifting, with each race having different effects on how they use it. Elves: Their magic uses their energy to manipulate creatures and the wild to their command. Has a large amount of trouble doing things which does not involve nature. Demons: Their magic is large and vast but is found only in a small amount of them. Their magic is landed to each other with those at the top having more power at their hand. Humans: All of the following information is rumors. It is said humans can do a large variety of things but everything they do takes away something from them. The most credible story is when a human choked a elven king under a mass of their own flesh which expanded like a tumor around them, however it ended with the arm staying that way and not retracting.

The Corruption: The Corruption turns everything into twisted versions of themselves, once again doing a variety of things to different creatures. Elves: Turns them into unruly beings with no sense of filter and turn into models of subconsciousness, too much corruption turns them into something akin to a wild beast, unable to be reasoned with. Demons: Reverts them to stories of old, partaking in more sin and becoming less likeable. Humans: No records could be found of what happens when the get corrupted. Vampires: They wither away refusing to eat food or drink blood.

The corruption spreads out from twisted towers of rock glued with flesh that just into the sky as massive spires. Creatures unknown to the outside world grow inside with odd effects. Usually the spires are 20 floors tall requiring whole armies to sacrifice themselves just to destroy it's heart. The corruption spreads from these spires with a small shockwave coming from the heart which slowly adds corruption to its surrounding.
