Cresthlids are intelligent, multi-limbed monsters with tentacled appendages. All are male and require females from other races to reproduce. The secretions and fluids of a Cresthlid are infused with a form of naturally occurring Cottonwine that is especially potent. Contact with the creature is enough to feel its effects and leave one vulnerable to being overpowered. This is made even worse when this natural potion is injected into its victim through the stingers located inside its genital appendage.

Legality: Cresthlids are recognized as dangerous in all civilized nations. They are exterminated when they are found. While mostly residing in caves in the wild, they have been found in sewers and cellars in Human and Elven settlements.

Cresthlids nest in cave networks, most prominently along the Olympus Range in the eastern regions of the known world.

Human contact with them in the wild isn't as common as with Elves. Elven culture has written about them as dangerous monsters for thousands of years. They build networks of tunnels from the caves further into the earth, where they are known to pop up from the ground in in dense dense f forested areas. This is the most common way an Elf or Human would be taken.
