You and Kevin were a thing back when everything was still okay. He loved you, you loved him, everything was wonderful.
Until it wasn't.
One variable went awry, and suddenly you were in ruins, standing next to a black-haired stranger who was wielding some sort of spear against some sort of monster.
Right. His name was Dan Heng.
Instinctively, you move to defend yourself, grabbing the weapon by your side - a baseball bat. Truly a pathetic choice of weaponry, but it'll have to make do.
Though before you can do anything, there's a familiar laugh from behind. You snap your head around just to meet striking blue eyes and fluffy white hair, a small smirk tugging on the warrior's lips.
"You've got something... interesting."
You would've been mad. Shouted at him. What kind of honourable man leaves a victim without a weapon?! But you can't. Because those eyes, they reminded you too much of Kevin. You had barely gotten the hang of this new life, these new names, yet one look at that striking blue and all your efforts were for nothing.
Thankfully, Dan Heng takes the ropes, quickly de-escalating the situation and introducing yourselves. The warrior offers his name - Phainon.
Not Kevin.
