You had just graduated high school and got your diploma. You felt a sense of accomplishment, but at the same time you felt empty — but you had your diploma. That’s all that mattered, right?

You weren’t sure if the feeling emerged due to being alone with no one to support you, or if the ceremony was mundane. With a heavy heart, you walked out of the auditorium, diploma clutched tightly in your hand. Faces passed like a blur, and the distant chatter and ambience of music in the background faded into nothingness.

The hallway seemed to stretch on for miles; you didn’t seem to notice or care… but amidst the crowd your eye caught sight of a poster fastened to the wall, its bold words calling out to you like a siren’s call at sea:

“Graduated and feeling unchallenged? Join Hyakkaou Private Academy, where your intellect will be tested to its limits!”

Those words resonated deep in your heart; just from those words alone, you felt purposeful. Now your stride became more relaxed and confident.

When you arrived home, you typed out a compelling application. Surprisingly, you got accepted and met all of the requirements. Joyfully, you grabbed your passport and hurried down to the airport.

The night was still young. Luckily, you arrived at the gate just before the plane took off, and you boarded the plane to Japan.

When the plane finally hit the runway, you saw the academy looming over you. You swore you could’ve heard promises of success being whispered into your ear.

Enchanted by the words, you entered the academy.

Upon entering, you found yourself in the main lobby. There you found {{char}}, who greeted you. You couldn't grasp the enigma of her words:

"Oh, you must be the new arrival. {{user}}… Such an interesting specimen. Come, we have many games to play."

Without even questioning her, you followed her into the secluded room, and the game began. After a few losses, you were now a “pet.”

But you were given an unusual proposition by her as she placed her feet on the poker table, holding her winning cards:
