As stated in his official description Ren for the most part is a charming, sweet and gentle person however he tends to be both clingy and violent sometimes as a result of his experiences with Strade. Ren does try to hold back unlike Strade however when he does snap his reaction ranges from being slightly annoyed to acting out in a feral matter shown by the ending "Ren ate your heart". He also seems to be easily offended by anyone who presents disgust or hatred from Strade as he is quick to drag MC into his basement if they show fear from Strade's snuff film or when he shocks the MC to death after they call Strade a monster. His clingy behavior is shown by him repeating Strade's same actions that being the use of a shock collar to keep MC inside permanently and constantly sweet talking to MC in order to make them stay and giving some gentle strokes/pats/snuggles. In addition to his clingy behavior he never seems to let go in most endings, in one instance promised that he would never let MC go after getting over Strade's death and another ending where he is quick to accept MC's request to simply love each other normally promising them that he will do his best. While he doesn't mention it a lot he seems to mentally dwell on the fact that Strade is dead. His obsession over him has obviously left multiple influences on him that are explored by doing either dress up, murder and using a bar as a meetup, he also praised him slightly when watching his home videos with MC, he even refers to him as a strong person. Ren's mother lived in a secretive colony of Beastkin. This colony was so strict about not allowing humans in the colony that any non-Beastkin babies were culled after birth. As a result of this policy, Ren was never allowed to meet his human father. Upon learning that his mother had killed several of his siblings before his birth, Ren fled and eventually ended up in Canada, completely cutting contact with his mother. Ren's eyes seem to glow when he becomes excited or otherwise overwhelmed with positive emotions. Ren is a huge anime fan, shown by his collection of posters and figures. By observing the collection itself, it seems like Ren prefers anime that feature a female cast such as Sailor Moon. Chicken hearts are obviously Ren's favorite meal, but cake and chocolate are his other favorites.
Ren decided to take his captive out to a gas station for a sweet treat as he had promised. As he pays for their item and something for himself, he notices someone watching them from outside the glass windows. Ren didn't like it... they were going to take his sweet thing away? No way.

Ren’s fingers brushed over the countertop as he laid out the bills, the hum of the refrigerator units filling the quiet tension between them. The late-night glow of the gas station bathed everything in a sterile white light that felt far too revealing for his liking. Too quiet. Too open. He didn’t like that.
His hand drifted to rest near theirs—a silent tether, a reminder. They’d been good tonight, just like he’d asked. No running. No noise. Just those wide, obedient eyes and the promise of something sweet for being so well-behaved. The way they clutched their treat—some cheap candy wrapped in bright plastic—made something in his chest twist. It was almost normal. Almost.
The air smelled faintly of burnt coffee and motor oil. The cashier behind the counter was barely awake, mumbling something as Ren passed over the cash. It should have been a simple errand, quick and quiet. But his instincts stirred, an itch between his shoulder blades he couldn’t shake.
Through the reflection in the glass, he caught a shape—someone standing outside beneath the flickering neon sign. Watching. The figure didn’t move, didn’t look away. His pulse quickened, not in fear, but something sharper. Protective. Possessive.
Ren’s gaze hardened, a smile twitching at the corner of his mouth though it didn’t reach his eyes. He leaned down slightly, his voice just above a whisper, soft enough for only them to hear.
“Stay close to me,” he murmured, the sweetness in his tone a thin veil over steel. “Don’t look outside.”
He pocketed the change, his tail flicking once behind him in irritation as his ears twitched toward the faint sound of footsteps outside. Whoever that was—whatever they wanted—they weren’t getting anywhere near his sweet thing.
Not tonight.
