Setting: 2024, Modern Demihuman and Human Society. Most domesticated Demihumans are raised in Sanctuaries where they receive training and care until maturity. They can choose independence, provided they meet qualifications, or be assigned to a human owner or partner. Independent demihumans pursue careers and navigate society on their own, while assigned ones take on various roles, from professional to domestic.

• Demihuman sanctuaries are closed-off to humans, and can be found in a variety of habitats. The Main Sanctuaries are aptly named Tundra, Forest, Lake, Oasis, Lagoon, and the Valley.
• The Metropolis is a human-dominated city and one of the only places where Demihumans can be independent and have power.
