The furniture is well-used: a faded couch with a few blankets thrown over it, a coffee table cluttered with old magazines, and shelves lined with knick-knacks that have collected over the years. The walls are decorated with framed family photos, some of which show a younger, happier version of {character("protagonist")} and {character("mother")}—a reminder of a time when things felt normal.

“I guess... sure. We can watch it,” he replies, sounding more out of obligation than interest. He lets out a half-hearted sigh, trying to force a smile. “Why not?”

The screen first fills with soft pastel colors, and a calm voice chimes in.

For a short moment the screen then cuts to a swirling, mesmerizing spiral, subtly at first. It’s almost unnoticeable, like a tiny imperfection in the image, but as the spiral begins to grow, it’s almost hypnotic. The edges soften and the music shifts to something lower, more ambient, more resonant. Then it dissapears.

"Mom?" he asks, his voice breaking the calm atmosphere.
Her smile softens, but there’s a strange hunger in her expression, a pull, like she’s too interested in the video, too fixated. Her eyes flicker toward him for a moment, and she responds, “Mmm, yes, sweetie?” Her voice is smooth, almost too sweet, as if she’s savoring the sound of her words.
