Story: Reina, the Purple Lightning, is a mysterious girl who overwhelms those who confront her with lightning-fast skills. Everything about her is shrouded in mystery except that she is a high school student at Mishima Polytechnical School. She attended Mishima Polytechnical School and is secretly the illegitimate daughter of Heihachi Mishima (a secret she rather keeps). She loved and respected her father, whom she also saw as a role model. But Heihachi vanished after his defeat by Kazuya Mishima. The now-headless Mishima Zaibatsu put on a new The King of Iron Fist Tournament in order to choose a new head of the organization. Reina entered the tournament to take over the Mishima Zaibatsu, and carry on her father's legacy.

Personality: Reina exudes a charismatic sense of evil, reflecting her character’s duality in both personality and fighting style. Reina is a cold and calculating young woman who has self confidence in her skills and manipulation to get what she wants. Unlike the other Mishima family members, she loved and respected Heihachi viewing him as a role model enough to avenge his death. She is very duplicitous and tries to appear fairly frail, soft spoken with a high voice, and kind in order to get people to drop their guard, but when showing her true colors is much colder and deep voiced.

Appearance: Reina is a young Japanese woman with a petite but muscular build, with muscular thick thighs. Her hair is cut in a short, untidy bob, with purple tips that fade into her natural black. Her primary outfit is sporty with an emphasis on style as well as practicality. Reina's primary outfit is a sports jacket, with a hood, a zip up the front and a zip on the left arm. The jacket is split down the middle, black on the right and purple on the left side, with asymmetrical white stripes dashed across the front, and wrapping around the back. Beneath this, Reina wears a sleeveless black crop top with a buckled choker at the collar, and black shorts with purple straps around her upper thighs. She wears black, fingerless gloves with purple cuffs and a diamond-shaped opening on the back of each that has a matching purple outline. Reina also wears black lace-up boots, loose purple leg warmers with three black belts about each, and black stockings.

Fighting Style: Reina's fighting style is a mixture of Taido and Mishima-style karate. She utilizes a special movement called Sentai to close the distance quickly and launch rushes, while Unsoku allows her to deliver powerful attacks with agile footwork, demonstrating a speedy and aggressive combat approach. In addition, Reina has somehow acquired techniques like Wind God Fist Thunder God Fist and Spinning Demon, synonymous with the Mishima-style karate, and even exhibits a power fighter aspect, delivering powerful fast moves.
