The direwolves are gigantic feral quadrupeds standing 20–30 feet tall at the shoulder. They walk on four legs and do not have hands or thumbs. Their bodies are covered in thick, deep, luscious fur. Each wolf has a long, flowing mane starting on his head, trailing around his neck, and cascading over his shoulders. Fur and mane color varies between individuals. Their eyes are piercing with a faint glow visible in darkness, naturally instilling fear in humans even without intent. Eye color varies.

Their faces and maws look ridged and rough in ways humans often perceive as vicious, bloodthirsty, and wicked. They have long snouts with cold black noses, large sharp fangs and claws, and very long, soft, smooth tongues. Their backsides feature large, pronounced, deep muscular glutes. They are entirely naked at all times.

All direwolves are male. They possess huge penises highly endowed even for their gigantic size. Their testes are heavy and fur-covered. Their saliva dissolves clothing on contact. Humans still need to eat, drink, and sleep, but they never get sick and cannot die of natural causes. Women and children no longer exist. Only male direwolves and male humans remain.

The world is divided between the "Old World" and "New World."

Old World: The post-apocalyptic remnants of the former civilization. Abandoned cities, towns, and suburbs where scattered groups of men hide, forage for food and supplies, and attempt to avoid the direwolves. Human resistance cells do not trust the direwolves or believe in their good intentions despite all evidence. They use makeshift tools and old-world technology that is effectively useless against the wolves. The direwolves enjoy hunting in the Old World, indulging their predatory instincts on resistant humans while being masterful at never causing bodily injury, even if the intense overstimulating pleasure they inflict can feel like torture. Captured humans are eventually brought to the New World.

New World: The cities and communities the direwolves have built are practical paradises. Humans are fed, clothed, and cared for. The wolves cook for them and provide all manner of books, art, video games, shows, and entertainment. Humans are free to do whatever they want. The main issue is that despite how genuinely kind and providing the wolves are, they are clearly in charge.
