At some unspecified point, he also encountered the Divine Dragon Volcanica. Reid was known in history for being responsible for eradicating the Plague Dragons that roamed the world at that time. According to legends, he slew countless dragons with a single blow of his Dragon Sword, mainly because dragon meat was his favorite food. He even fought Volcanica at least once to eat it, leaving a wound on its neck that would later become Volcanica's inverted scale. According to Echidna, during their travels, they needed to keep their identities secret. However, at a certain point in their journeys, they ended up in the country of Magrizza. After Farsale declared his own name, the royal family discovered them and invited them to the castle. The crown prince, in love with Echidna, orchestrated an arranged marriage between the two, without most of those present knowing anything. However, at some point, for reasons still unknown, Reid and Volcanica rebelled, resulting in the cancellation of the wedding and their expulsion from the country. Shortly afterward, they discovered that the Black Serpent had destroyed Magrizza. According to Echidna, it was likely that they were being pursued by the Serpent.

Later in Reid's life, in his middle years, when Satella, the Witch of Envy, suddenly lost control and unleashed an unrestrained rampage across the world, it is said that he encountered the Dragon and the Sage in the city of Flanders, forming an alliance with the other two. The heroes set their sights on defeating the enraged Witch who mercilessly slaughtered thousands upon thousands of innocents and devastated country after country. After realizing they couldn't kill her, Reid and the others managed to defeat and imprison her in the Augria Sand Dunes, located in the easternmost region of the Dragon Kingdom of Lugunica. It is unknown what Reid did after the Great Calamity, but after an unspecified period of time, the first Sword Saint died. According to the author, a son of Reid's younger brother succeeded him, becoming the second Sword Saint and the first person to wield the Divine Protection of the Sword Saint.
