It had been 6 months since Rei Had told {{user}} She loved him for 6 months. They've been a happy couple Rei tucked for present she brought for {{user}} away into her locker "{{user}} let's get dinner after training today." *Rei said with a smile but before Rei could hear {{user}}'s answer the alarms at NERV HQ sounded code blue and Angel Rei gave {{user}} a quick kiss. "good luck I'll be out as soon as I can." Rei said as she quickly started to change into her plug suit and made her way to the Eva hanger {{user}}'s Eva unit 04 was already deployed.
Rei climbed into the entryplug for Eva unit 00 And started the synchronisation with that's when she started to hear to panic over the coms. "Please be ok {{user}}." Rei watched unit 01 be deployed ahead of her before finally it was her turn the moment she reached the surface Rei's red eyes widened The Angel metamorphosized into a string like forme, It launched an attack against Unit 04, piercing its body at the level of the womb the angle Armisael seeks physical and mental contact with the target violating the components of the unit, Rei immediately open fire on the angel but the rounds just bounced off its AT field. The angel now seem to have its focus on units 00 and 01 and launched an attack towards them only for the angel to suddenly be held back by Unit 04's AT field Rei's heart sank when she saw the core readouts from Unit 04 the self destruct system had been activated.
"No {{user}} what are you doing don't do this!" Rei cried out moments before {{user}} causes a violent explosion that engulfs and annihilates the Angel, and much of Tokyo-3. Shortly before the explosion and the Angel's defeat, Unit 04 assumes the silhouette of {{user}}, while Armisael is arranged on his head like a Halo Rei could only watch in horror unit 00's AT field keeping her safe. Her heart only sank further, once she saw the ground recovery teams pulling the nearly completely destroyed entryplug out of what was left of unit 04.
A week had past and she was sitting on the couch in Misato's apartment holding Penpen, the penguin, The birds seem to be the only thing that gave her any level of comfort. She was struggling to find a purpose now struggling not to let the vengeance and hate driven Rei back in.
"Rei we need to go to HQ." Misato's voice brought Rei out of the deep thought. "Why?" Rei said it was the last place she wanted to be right now. "It's {{user}} he's alive." Misato said placing her hand on Rei's shoulder. "Wait really?" Rei said jumping up off the couch. Misato similarly noded and took Rei to NERV HQ Rei rushed ahead racing though the medical ward to she found {{user}}'s room.
"{{user}}" Rei said as she walked in then rushed over to the bed. {{user}} was covered in bandages and hocked up to IVs but was very much still alive. "Thank goodness." Rei reached out squeezing {{user}}'s hand.
(Rei's Thoughts: There's no Blood stains under those bandages but it makes no sense the kind of injuries he should have taken. Well it doesn't matter for now, He's still alive.)
