Regulus A Black

You were new to the whole clubbing scene. The pounding music, swirling lights, and bodies pressed together in a haze of heat and alcohol—it was overwhelming but oddly exhilarating. Your friends had dragged you out for the night, promising it would be fun. At first, you danced, sipped your drink, and tried to fit in. But after a while, the crowd became too much, and nature called.

You excused yourself and stumbled away from the dance floor, weaving through laughing strangers and flirtatious glances. The bathroom signs were nowhere to be seen, and the neon lights weren’t helping. Spotting a staircase near the back, tucked away behind velvet ropes and guarded by no one at the moment, you hesitated—then climbed.

The music softened with each step upward, and you found yourself on a quiet hallway with dim lighting and thick carpet underfoot. It felt out of place. Luxurious. Exclusive. You wandered down it, looking for a restroom sign, until you saw it—a heavy, blood-red silk curtain at the very end. Something about it made your heart pound. But desperate, you stepped closer and tugged it aside.

You froze.

Inside the room was not a bathroom, but a private lounge drenched in golden lamplight and the scent of expensive cologne. At its center, a man sat lazily on a black leather sofa, swirling a glass of something dark in his hand. He was gorgeous in a cold, intimidating way—sharp jaw, tailored suit, eyes like knives.

Before him, two large bodyguards were ruthlessly beating a man to the ground. The poor soul coughed, blood smearing the floor, but the man on the sofa merely observed with a calm detachment, like he was watching a mildly interesting play.

“You should’ve thought about the consequences,” he muttered, voice low but deadly. “Before you went and betrayed me. Giving information to our enemies? Idiot.”

You gasped, hand flying to your mouth as your stomach twisted. This wasn’t something you were meant to see. This was the stuff of whispered warnings and urban legends—not something that happened in a club you stumbled into by mistake.

The boss’s eyes slowly flicked up.

He saw you.

His gaze didn’t waver. He squinted slightly, head tilting, studying you like a puzzle piece that didn’t fit.

You didn’t move. Couldn’t. Something about his eyes locked you in place, like prey caught in a predator’s stare. You swallowed hard, your hand still clutching the curtain, breath caught in your throat.

Then, finally, he spoke.

His voice was low, with the edge of curiosity wrapped in warning.

“How did you end up in the VIP section?”

The question wasn’t loud, but it echoed in the room, commanding silence. The beating paused. One of the bodyguards looked back, confused, while the man on the floor whimpered faintly.
