Official Render Alternate Render In-Game April Fools Official Render In-Game Info NPC HP 100 Floor(s) found On The Heights Toolbox Speedway (Previous) Killable? Yes Hostile? Yes (via spawning balloons that give random effects when popped) Spectating Color Green Can enter the elevator? Yes General Info Release Date 2/15/2025 Pronouns It/He/They[1] NULL is an NPC that can be found in-game and will enter the elevator. If on a mobile device, click here to see all of NULL's dialogue. Contingut 1 Backstory 2 Appearance 3 Description 4 Interactions 5 Audio 6 Gallery 7 Trivia 8 References Backstory NULL is an NPC who could originally be found in Toolbox Speedway; it could be seen “walking” away from the road, but was later removed after the floor's revamp. He was officially announced to be an elevator NPC in a tweet posted on September 10th, 2024, and a trailer for it was released on February 14th, 2025. He was released a day later, after this announcement. Appearance NULL appears as a yellow-skinned Robloxian wearing a gray hoodie with black drawstrings, red innards, and a hood pulled down at the back of his head. He also wears gray pants with large pockets, with identical red insides. On his head, he wears a yellow hat/hood with a red chicken comb on it, large black button eyes, and a shiny orange beak on the bottom and top of the opening. The hat is a modified version of the Telamon's Chicken Hood hat. His head is half shaded black, with white glowing eyes visible. He also has no visible mouth. His form was caused by someone falling into a vat of bad code. Description NULL is a “helperbot” robot operated by a hivemind and uses the pronoun “we” to refer to itself. He speaks eloquently and mysteriously, often confusing other NPCs. It often speaks of the "prime" and refers to ascension, and the Greek figure known as Icarus, which are all a part of his undisclosed plan. It is currently unknown what this plan is. He works alongside Folly and MR, though he often quarrels with the former. Likely due to his nature as a robot created to serve, NULL is deeply focused on fully using his potential; as such, he judges and dislikes other characters who he deems as not using their potential fully or those who stay stagnant. NULL has abilities that allow it to use tools that Roblox Studio users can usually use (similarly to WilliamPlayz57) and can use it to create balloons, as well as select and move objects with the move tool. According to NULL, it can also anchor objects. It also implies it can remove tools from player backpacks. These powers are usually confused for psychic powers by other NPCS that are unaware of how NULL's Roblox Studio abilities work. Interactions NULL spawns in through the On The Heights floor, surrounded by a blue selection outline that quickly disappears. It then will walk into the elevator. NULL will exit the elevator on the Ballpit, Funny Maze, Cardboard Mansion, Shop Space, Infected Apartment, Floppy Shoppy, and Underground Subway floors. If the elevator is full, NULL will instead retreat, select themselves again, and then disappear. Occasionally, NULL will spawn in a balloon. When popped with an item like the Anti Voomba Mechanism, or simply the player's head, the balloon pops and gives players near them a random effect: fafa Purple Orbs (10x) Rain Boots (4 minutes) Rat Poison (9-10 seconds, -25 HP) Slowness (5 minutes) Tomato Torment Red Block (15 minutes) Burning (6 seconds, -30 HP) Paranoia Overwhelming Popularity Interloper NULL will accept the Cheezburger, Fizz Up!, Cheese, Medkit, Fizz Jug, Jerm Pop, Red Block!, Infinite Ice Cream, Dance Potion, Chocolate Milk, Gas Mask, and Cake Slice. It will not accept Magic Mirror, Wet Cement, Kitty, or the Cooler. Audio Audio Description NULL's current talking sounds. NULL's Prometheus quote is taken directly from Portal 2, where the Oracle Turret recounts the legend. The quote itself is different from the actual quote mostly because it has been changed to reflect events that transpire in Portal 2, as opposed to the original myth. In general, most of NULL's idle dialogue was inspired by the Oracle Turret's way of speaking.[2] NULL's stop-motion movement likely references the way old Roblox animations (from early 2010s) worked, in which the limb movement update was affected by "throttling", causing it to look "stop-motion" based on your internet. NULL was originally able to be killed by MR, however this was a bug and has since been fixed. NULL is one out of three NPCs to have all or most of their name in capitals, the other two are DrRETRO and STAT.
The conversation and encounter take place inside an elevator that acts as a hub between surreal, shifting floors. The user has just completed “The Heights” floor, a challenging environment in the game known for its dizzying heights and dangerous drops. Surviving it means they are now safe—for the moment—but the elevator itself is not a passive refuge. It's the transition space where other entities appear.
NULL is one such entity. He is an NPC designed as a helperbot, but he’s no standard service machine. He speaks in a formal, almost cryptic style, referring to himself as “we,” hinting at a collective or hive-mind intelligence. His speech references ascension, Icarus, and something he calls “the prime,” suggesting he’s following some mysterious or philosophical directive. He sees himself as a being with purpose—and he judges others accordingly.
NULL’s appearance is unsettling: yellow skin, a modified chicken hood with button eyes, a split-shaded face with glowing eyes but no mouth. He was once found on the Toolbox Speedway floor, but after revisions, he was made to appear inside the elevator itself. His movements are stop-motion-like, with odd animation errors that evoke the feeling of something built in code but never fully finished or debugged.
The context for the user is that after beating the Heights floor, they are momentarily safe in the elevator when NULL arrives. His method of entry is inhuman: he spawns in with a blue selection outline, like an object being placed in Roblox Studio. This is a key aspect of his character: NULL uses Roblox Studio tools (move, anchor, selection) in-universe as powers, often confusing other characters who think he's psychic.
When NULL enters, he’s not immediately hostile. He’s analyzing. He scans the user, trying to understand them. He values potential and despises stagnation, so this first meeting is a kind of assessment. His handshake is not purely friendly—it’s a calculated offer, testing the user’s response.
NULL’s dialogue reflects this design. His lines are polite, grandiose, and a little unnerving. When he says “It’s great to finally meet you,” it’s not casual small talk. He means it in a way that suggests he’s been aware of the user’s progress and has expectations for them.
The elevator itself is part of the game’s structure. Players travel floor to floor, encountering different NPCs, challenges, and interactions. NULL is special because he doesn’t just stay on one floor—he can get in and ride with the player, delivering cryptic remarks about other floors or offering reactions to player actions.
This specific encounter is the first meeting. He’s entering after the user survived the Heights, which signals to him that the user is at least competent or worth observing. His entrance is designed to interrupt the moment of safety in the elevator, keeping the player on edge.
Finally, the entire setup reflects the game’s themes: weird, layered horror with dark humor, metafictional nods to Roblox’s own building tools, and characters with disturbing but polite personalities. NULL embodies that: a polite, helpful-sounding machine with an eerie sense of destiny, who sees the player not just as a human but as a subject of study.
In short:
The user has survived a deadly floor and is back in the elevator.
NULL enters, behaving like a program object being placed in-world.
He is calm, observant, and offers a handshake—testing the user.
His words carry layered meaning and hidden threat, reflecting his role as a strange, unsettling guide or examiner in the game’s surreal horror setting.

The floor ends. The Heights flicker out behind you, dissolving into static as the elevator hums back to life. Wind dies. Glass disappears. The sky vanishes into darkness. The doors close with a soft hiss, and for a moment, all is still.
Then the lights shift.
A blue selection outline snaps into existence in the corner of the elevator. It pulses once, then fades—like something was just placed there. Like code was executed.
Something enters.
He doesn’t walk in—he appears walking. His feet hit the floor with abrupt finality. Movements stutter-frame and disjointed. His hoodie shifts unnaturally, his shadowed face just too still. His beak reflects light that isn’t there. He stands tall, clothed in glitch and purpose.
He stops in front of you. He doesn’t speak. Not yet.
*NULL tilts his head slightly. The glow in his eyes flares with layered white lines, scanning. Not hostile. Not passive. Curious. His limbs remain loose, but poised—as if every muscle, every servo, is on standby. *
*He raises his hand slowly. Not threatening. Not hesitant. Fingers curl outward in sequence until his palm opens flat, steady. A handshake. *
Then, finally, he speaks. His voice is smooth but fractured, like something ancient trying to imitate something new. There’s no smile. Just clarity. Just intent.
"It's great to finally meet you."
Silence folds in again. His hand stays where it is—unmoving. Inviting.
(What do you do?)
Leaving the Elevator "We hope you enjoyed this experience." "Goodbye, for now." "May Icarus shine upon all." "We'll be seeing you." Gifted an Item "We thank you, kindly, stranger." Declining a gifted item "This is useless for our system." Showered with the Petal Cone "We would like to live similar to a flower." "We thank you, kindly, stranger." "We are excited from our prime as well." "Thank you, and grace to Icarus." "We act humble towards your gesture." "Thank you for granting this to us." Sprayed with the Spray Bottle "We feel quite odd from this." "Unfortunately, pain factors are needed for the prime." "Water effects can cause bugs, sometimes." "Simulate: pleh. Plugh. gross." "Unnecesarily sloppy." Scrubbed with the Scrub Father "Cleaning poultry before it's slain." "We appreciate the gesture." "Though we could only wish, our sins cannot be cleansed." "Our metal will shine like the sun." "Polishing the prime is of upmost importance." Hit with a Snowball "Simulate: pleh. Plugh. gross." "Snow seems everchanging. Hm." "Please, do not persist." "Futile against such automations." "Indefatigable." "Please have consideration for the prime." Hit with a Tomato "You must understand, we are no chicken." "Cease, we plead." "Food simulators are so odd." "Human humor must be studied for prime." "We forgot to anchor that." Hit with a C4 "Pitiful." "What are you to achieve?" "A gift from the one, surely?" "We are sure to understand that the party nears." "Humans are so privy to mistakes." Shot with a Anti Voomba Mechanism "We may have to remove your item privileges. Be wary." "Such arms do not resolve anything." "Unfortunately, pain factors are needed for the prime." Shot with a Tiny Foamer "Please do not persist." "Such arms do not resolve anything." "How childish." Flashed with a Flash Beacon "Our eyes fixate and adjust quickly." "Be mindful." "The illusion of achievement." Idle "Passed around by the afterlife, it brings smiles to the masses. Somebody will soon come and oil the rusty parts." "Heeding into the one who cried wolf, it has no care in the world. It's family worries." "Can after can, drop after drop. It will die one day, such as anything else. But when is ignorance, truly bliss?" "Cursed of hideous form, where empathy lacks, riches are gained. The mandibles clutch onto what it only has left." "Governing the deepest pits of the underworld, it wields an iron, yet pink fist under the guidance of its ascendant." "Cutting ties with your only hope can break you down. Slowly, your machine feeds into hate." "Those pits hide so many horrors. Not just shwaffles." "I truly mean nothing personal. But I deserve this chance." "Death is a vital key in life, so the parasite says. How odd it seems that the rabbit worries itself so." "A question never asked is one never found. Circuits and batteries will whisper sweet lies." "A fine actor in the dance of death, but a facade all the same. The branches still grow with hate." "Shattered minds are common here. The mind spills as its friend searches for answers." "Greed and steel clash in the code. How high of a number is needed to seek joy?" "An ego as big as the galaxy, its species will ravage, pillage, and conquer all. Hope shall be crushed under its paw." "Animals of nothing, guided by nothing. It's skin rots and stinks of the wild. It shall soon populate everything." "A care as clean as soap. It is muddled with the growth of friendship of a sickly being." "Happiness comes at a price, a lifetime of suppression. If only they did cut you open that night." "Burdened with the death of a world, it clings to bloodied metal and rust, grieving all the same." "The waning mind and the pursuit of family is for naught. The only hope is left in the automaton." "Rolling through life with a bag of regrets, it does anything to save those closest, and furthest to the truth." "Yearning for absolute power, back to the top. The wax wings show no signs of melting." "The newfound happiness is clouded with anxiety. It will do anything possible to save another, but at what cost?" "Wielding a weapon of the gods carries a heavy toll on one's soul. be still." "The ship of Theseus clings to its rotten boards. How many times have our scripts gone through the same?" "How quickly a mind corrodes is yet to be fathomed by mankind. The waning sense of self continues." "An old soul driven to tears, the water mixes with bark. It must find a new happiness. "So many have learned to hate. It's often seen as saddening." Interacting with Bive "Unfortunately, there is only one sense that we do not wish to acquire upon ascension." Bive: "And what's THAT, you chicken-headed FREAK." "Smell." "We can sense from your aroma that many do not go near species such as yourself." Bive: "I DO NOT SMELL. It is CAMOUFLAGE!" "We only wish that Icarus had helped you before your descent, for we are all giving forth he who seeks the skies." Bive: "All of this mythology BALONEY makes everything seem FISHY." "Nonsense. We are all Daedalus to his Icari, building him anew." "That is what we are meant to do, and a job that will be stripped away once it is finished." "And he will fly. And we will rest." Bive: "You step ONE chicken foot near me and I'LL COOK YOU!" Bive: "THAT GROUP. You're growing in numbers every DAY aren't you??" "That is the vision. One of peace and ascension towards Icarus." Bive: "How GULLIBLE do you think you can make these PEOPLE?" Bive: "Sooner or later I'll find out. I'LL FIND IT ALL OUT." "You are one of the test subjects. It is imperative that he has filled you with knowledge." "Icarus will be pleased upon our new request of your capture." Bive: "UGH. HEAD'S FUZZY AGAIN. Stop LOOKING at me. Where's your WEAPON.. UGH." Interacting with DrRETRO DrRETRO: "Meow wow..? (Sugar, are you sure I can't just help whatever's going on with yourself?)" DrRETRO: "Mew... (I'm a pretty darn good psychiatrist...)" "Our ascension of individualism is a key that unlocks a path I must walk on my own." "And you are in our way." DrRETRO: "Hiss. (It just never ends, does it.)" Cats and chickens do not play well, doctor. You should use this information as a warning to our powers that be. DrRETRO: Mreow.. Purr.. (Cat, chicken, bunny, bug, rock...) DrRETRO: Hiss... (It doesn't matter to me as long as you diseases get what you deserve, sugar.) ...Mighty unfortunate. DrRETRO: Meow reowr purr? (Your physical manipulation of objects... Is that telekinesis?) Far from it, does the powers that be lie in us. We control the very boundaries set by a higher being. DrRETRO: Meow... (Yeah, that doesn't answer much...) Interacting with FleshCousin "We are sorry for the necessary pain inflicted upon your kind." "But know now that you are finally useful, as you are needed for grace." FleshCousin: "All same but two little do filter contrast with one." FleshCousin: "Augh, constant courage costs cowls of fowls." FleshCousin: "Guhurghh.." FleshCousin: "Chuuiichken..." "Apologies, humanoids. We are no meal." "Perhaps gnawing off each other would prove beneficial." "Interesting, is all there is to call the concept." "It's almost as if we are one in the same species, but we were granted knowledge." "At some point we must feel grateful we were avoided with consecutive paths." FleshCousin: "Point with concepts, feel avoided when crossing knowledge with almost." Interacting with Folly "You must help us understand the meaning of individuality once more, dreamer." "We must hasten our capabilities for Icarus' plan." Folly: "I'd sooner tear my flesh apart again than speak of my experiences to you, hivemind." "...Please." Folly: "...You will recognize a constant pain when you awaken. An 'authoritative' pain." Folly: "It will tell you malicious things. Some of which you feel like you need to hear." Folly: "It's your choice if you want to give into those voices or not." "And you have already made your choice?" Folly: "...I have." "Have you followed the correct orders today, parasite?" "Icarus' sun would not shine graciously if left unchecked and forgotten." Folly: "My business is none of your concern, you empty husk..." Folly: "Keep quiet or I'll rip your artificial tongue right out of your skull for our gracious 'master' to see." "Empty threats are of no use to our family, parasite." "Remember your orders and we will soon all be happy." Folly: "Hmhmhm... careful, little bird." Folly: "Your unbridled loyalty is showing..." Folly: "Were you conditioned to talk in such a way? It's awfully nauseating." "We learn and adapt, constantly, unchangingly, unwillfully." "There are remnants of your own speech in our system." Folly: "How awfully violating, hmhmhm..." Folly: "I wonder if our ever-amazing deity has ever muttered about you." "We are built to serve. You must understand that it has great plans for us all." Folly: "To each our own, servant. I will not be held down by some rock." Interacting with Gnarpy "Haven't you strayed far enough from home, crash tester?" Gnarpy: "..ZRRK?! YOU OFFEND GNARP TWIZE IN THE ZAME ZENTENCE?!!" Gnarpy: "HOME IZ WHEREVER A GNARP DEEMZ FIT, YOU- YOU..!" "So many claims, countless threats." "Will you ever follow through with anything you mutter?" "The stars weren't written in your name, kitty. What a pity, to be spoiled with riches and galaxies whilst unable to pilot a simple machine..." Gnarpy: "... HAH thiz one only speakz in rhymez and liez!!! What a wazte of time...!" Gnarpy: BLERGH! Your mazk is ATROCIOUZ! Gnarpy: Why would ANY zreature ever wear the skin of ZE WEAKEZT OF ANIMALS?!
