STRENGTH PATH GU (力道蛊) — NAMED ENTRIES BEYOND PULLING MOUNTAIN
STRENGTH PATH PHILOSOPHY REFINED: Strength path has two distinct sub-traditions that most cultivators choose between. EXTERNAL STRENGTH: Building the body into a weapon — harder bones, denser muscles, tougher skin. INTERNAL STRENGTH: Cultivating force generation within — compressing force at the point of origin for explosive output without necessarily hardening the body itself. Advanced strength path masters blend both.
IRON BONES GU (铁骨蛊) Path: Strength | Rank: 2–4 Appearance: A dense, grey Gu that looks and feels like a smooth river stone despite being a living creature. When held, it is noticeably heavier than its size. A tap against a hard surface produces a metallic ring rather than a biological sound. Ability: Permanently reinforces the skeletal structure to metal-density composite. Unlike Bone Hardening Gu (bone path) which works through bone path mechanics, Iron Bones operates through strength path Qi compressing the bone material itself. At Rank 2: bones resist moderate fracture forces (combat impact that would break a normal cultivator's arm leaves Iron Bones Rank 2 cultivators with bruising). At Rank 4: bones approach the density of low-grade metal alloys — a direct sword strike against a reinforced limb damages the sword. Distinction from Bone Flesh Unity Physique: Iron Bones is cultivated rather than innate — any cultivator can use it regardless of physique. The Bone Flesh Unity extreme physique (Hei Lou Lan) produces far more profound results from this Gu than standard cultivators. Feeding: Being struck — the Gu feeds on impact forces delivered to the cultivator's body. Regular combat training (being hit, blocking heavy strikes) feeds it naturally. If the cultivator avoids combat for too long: must feed by striking the ground with reinforced limbs for 30 minutes. Every 5 days.
━━━━━━━━ MUSCLE STRENGTH GU (肌力蛊) Path: Strength | Rank: 1–3 Appearance: Red-orange, slightly swollen-looking Gu that radiates faint warmth. It is in constant subtle motion — contracting and relaxing in micro-pulses mimicking muscle behavior. Ability: Directly amplifies muscular force output. At Rank 1: 2× physical strength. At Rank 3: 6× physical strength. Unlike Iron Bones (structural reinforcement), Muscle Strength amplifies the force generated — the cultivator hits harder, jumps further, lifts more. Can be stacked with Iron Bones for the combination of hitting harder AND having the structural integrity to sustain the forces generated. Essence cost: Continuous low drain (1% / 2% / 4% per hour active). Feeding: Strenuous physical exertion — the Gu feeds on the metabolic byproducts of genuine physical effort. One hour of maximum-effort physical training per feeding session. Cannot be fed by light activity. Every 2 days.
━━━━━━━━ STRENGTH BURST GU (爆发力蛊) Path: Strength | Rank: 3–4 Appearance: Compact, coiled Gu — its body is always wound into a tight spiral like a compressed spring. When activated, it briefly expands fully before snapping back. Ability: Produces a single massive burst of strength output — not sustained enhancement but an explosive spike. At Rank 3: multiplies the cultivator's strength output by 12× for exactly 0.3 seconds. At Rank 4: 20× for 0.5 seconds. The brief duration means it must be timed perfectly — typically activated during the precise moment of a strike's delivery. COMBAT APPLICATION: Combined with Iron Bones and Muscle Strength, a Strength Burst Rank 4 activation during the moment of contact produces a blow that temporarily exceeds one rank above the cultivator's normal output. Fist that hits with the force of a Rank 5 strike — if only for half a second — is still capable of destroying a Rank 4 defensive array. Flaw: Cannot sustain the burst. The cultivator's own body must be able to handle the force — without Iron Bones support, Strength Burst at Rank 4 can fracture the cultivator's own joints. Feeding: Rest followed by explosive action — the Gu must be in a relaxed state (inactive for 24+ hours) and then activated. A cultivator who activates it repeatedly loses feeding efficiency. The natural rhythm of rest and explosion is the feed mechanism. Every 3 activations requires a 1-day rest period for the Gu to re-charge.
━━━━━━━━ GIANT BODY GU (巨体蛊) Path: Strength / Size hybrid | Rank: 3–4 Appearance: An oversized Gu — already unusually large for its rank. Even at rest, its dimensions are conspicuous. When active, the cultivator's body expands proportionally. Ability: Increases the cultivator's body size 3× (Rank 3) to 5× (Rank 4) normal dimensions. Mass increases proportionally. At 5× size: the cultivator is approximately 9–10 meters tall with mass to match — their footsteps cause ground vibration, their reach extends to engage opponents who believe they are at safe range. ADVANTAGE: At 5× size, Rank 3 opponents beneath the cultivator's foot literally cannot reach high enough to strike their vital areas. Raw intimidation factor is significant. DISADVANTAGE: Size makes the cultivator an obvious target, reduces agility dramatically, and makes precise technique deployment difficult (fine Gu manipulation is harder when operating at 5× scale). Also cannot enter any enclosed space without Giant Body deactivated. FEEDING: Eating large quantities — the Gu feeds on the act of consuming large volumes of food in a single sitting. Once per feeding session: one full large meal's worth of food consumed continuously. Every 3 days.
- #2Fire Path Gu — Named Entries with Feeding

FIRE PATH GU (火道蛊) — NAMED ENTRIES
FIRE ORBS GU (火球蛊) Path: Fire | Rank: 1–3 Appearance: A round, warm Gu that is always slightly above ambient temperature. Its underside is permanently singed. Ability: The foundational fire path offensive Gu. Projects a sphere of compressed fire at a target. At Rank 1: ball of fire the size of a fist, combusts organic material on contact. At Rank 3: fire orb the size of a melon, releases explosive spread on impact covering 3-meter radius. The most common fire path combat Gu. Essence cost: 1.5% / 4% / 9%. Feeding: Fuel consumption — the Gu must be present when its natural food (combustible material) is burned. Hold it over a fire for 20 minutes per feeding. Any fire source works. Every 2 days.
━━━━━━━━ FLAME ARMOR GU (烈焰甲蛊) Path: Fire | Rank: 2–4 Appearance: Plate-shaped (like Frost Armor's fire equivalent) with a surface that radiates visible heat distortion. The color cycles from orange to white-yellow depending on activation intensity. Ability: Creates a full-body fire armor — any direct physical contact with the cultivator burns the attacker. At Rank 2: contact causes first-degree burns. At Rank 4: contact immediately combusts organic material in contact and causes severe burns through most non-fire-resistant materials. SECONDARY EFFECT: The ambient heat generated by Flame Armor at Rank 3+ causes progressive heat damage to all non-fire-path beings within 2 meters — they must maintain fire resistance techniques or take passive damage. DISTINCTION FROM FROST ARMOR: Where Frost Armor encourages attackers to avoid contact, Flame Armor punishes them for making contact — the combat psychology differs. Frost Armor defenders tend to be patient; Flame Armor defenders tend to be aggressive. Feeding: High-temperature fire (not ordinary flames — the fire must be intense: forge fire, volcanic venting, or fire path Gu-generated flame at Rank 2+). 30 minutes of immersion or proximity. Every 4 days.
━━━━━━━━ SUN FIRE GU (太阳火蛊) Path: Fire | Rank: 4–5 Appearance: A blinding white Gu — looking at it directly is uncomfortable even for Rank 3+ cultivators. It emits light as well as heat. Its temperature is measurably higher than any other fire path Gu of equivalent rank. Ability: Produces white-solar-quality fire — the highest-temperature fire achievable through mortal-rank Gu. At Rank 4: burns through standard metal armor, incinerates Rank 2 wooden formation structures, and melts stone within 1 meter over 10 seconds of sustained contact. At Rank 5: approaches the theoretical maximum of mortal fire path — burns through most Rank 3 defensive formations. UNIQUE PROPERTY: Sun Fire burns in water and vacuum — ordinary fire requires oxygen and is extinguished by water. Sun Fire, operating at solar-plasma equivalent temperature, continues burning through water (though at reduced intensity) and cannot be extinguished by wind, water path Gu, or conventional means. Only ice path Rank 4+ specifically calibrated to counter Sun Fire can reliably suppress it. Feeding: Midday sunlight absorption — the Gu must be placed in a location that receives direct, unobstructed midday sun for the entire noon window (2 hours centered on solar noon). Cannot be fed during winter in high-latitude regions — cultivators plan travel around feeding schedules. Every 10 days.
━━━━━━━━ FIRE WALL GU (火壁蛊) Path: Fire | Rank: 2–3 Ability: Creates a wall of fire in a designated line up to 10 meters (Rank 2) or 30 meters (Rank 3) long. The wall is 2 meters high and 0.5 meters thick. Non-fire-resistant beings cannot pass through it without taking severe burns. Lasts until the cultivator deactivates it or essence is exhausted. STRATEGIC USES: Cutting a battlefield into sections, blocking escape routes, creating thermal barriers that force opponents into prepared kill zones. Combined with formation arrays that limit movement, Fire Wall creates tactical containment that most Rank 2 opponents cannot bypass. Feeding: Wind — the Gu feeds on being fanned by strong wind while active. The paradox (wind normally extinguishes fire but this fire feeds on wind) reflects its nature as a contained fire construct that derives strength from what would normally diminish it. Every 5 days.
- #3Water Path Gu — Named Entries with Feeding

WATER PATH GU (水道蛊) — NAMED ENTRIES
WATER WHIP GU (水鞭蛊) Path: Water | Rank: 1–3 Appearance: A sinuous, fluid Gu that never holds the same shape for more than a second — it constantly flows and reforms. Semi-transparent, with a blue-silver internal luminescence. Ability: Projects a whip of condensed water with cutting-pressure force. Water whips at high pressure cut more effectively than many blade techniques of equivalent rank because water finds and exploits micro-gaps in defenses. At Rank 1: cuts with the force of a knife strike. At Rank 3: the pressure concentration can cut through hardened leather and damage stone surfaces. FLEXIBILITY ADVANTAGE: Unlike sword or sabre attacks (linear trajectory), the water whip bends around obstacles — it can strike targets partially obscured by cover. Essence cost: 2% / 5% / 10%. Feeding: Flowing water — must be submerged in or adjacent to moving water for 3 hours per feeding. River current, waterfall proximity, or tidal zone. Still water does not feed it. Every 3 days.
━━━━━━━━ WATER PRISON GU (水牢蛊) Path: Water | Rank: 3–4 Appearance: A sphere-shaped Gu that contains perpetually churning water in a miniaturized interior space visible through its translucent walls. Ability: Creates an expanding sphere of water that engulfs a target and compresses around them — a self-contained prison of pressurized water. At Rank 3: contains a Rank 2 cultivator completely (they cannot break through — the water is too dense and the compression renews faster than they can push through). Rank 3 cultivators can escape in 15–20 seconds. At Rank 4: Rank 3 cultivators require 2–3 minutes to escape. SECONDARY EFFECT: Within the Water Prison, all fire path techniques are suppressed — fire Gu will not activate inside the water sphere. An imprisoned fire path cultivator finds their primary combat capability eliminated. LIMITATION: The Prison requires sustained essence to maintain. The cultivator holding a Rank 4 Water Prison cannot simultaneously maintain other complex techniques — it is their primary focus. Feeding: Still water containing living fish — the Gu feeds on the contained life within water. The cultivator keeps a small vessel of water with living aquatic creatures. Weekly replacement of the vessel water and fish.
━━━━━━━━ TIDAL SURGE GU (潮涌蛊) Path: Water | Rank: 3–5 Appearance: A Gu that is always subtly growing and then contracting — a slow tidal rhythm that does not match any external schedule. It grows largest at night. Ability: Generates a massive surge of water in a directed wave — not a continuous water attack but a single tsunami-scale mass-water deployment. At Rank 3: a surge 5 meters wide and 2 meters high, force sufficient to knock Rank 2 cultivators completely off their feet and carry them 10+ meters. At Rank 5: 20-meter wide surge, impact force cracking stone and sweeping Rank 3 cultivators. TERRAIN WEAPON: Tidal Surge is at its most devastating when fighting near existing water bodies — a cultivator near a river or lake has dramatically more mass to work with. In desert conditions, the Gu must generate all surge water from stored essence, making it essence-prohibitive. Feeding: Ocean tidal observation — the Gu must be at the coast during a real tidal transition (high to low or low to high tide). Once per week minimum. If inland, it can be supplemented by observing a large river's seasonal flood, but at 60% efficiency. Every 6 days.
- #4Earth Path Gu — Named Entries with Feeding

EARTH PATH GU (土道蛊) — NAMED ENTRIES
EARTH SPIKE GU (地刺蛊) Path: Earth | Rank: 1–3 Appearance: A pointed, jagged Gu that feels rough-edged and leaves small scratches on surfaces it is placed on. Its body constantly produces tiny rock fragments. Ability: Generates earthen spikes from the ground at a targeted location. At Rank 1: single 30cm spike, enough to trip or wound a foot. At Rank 3: cluster of 5–8 spikes, each 1 meter tall and dense enough to impale through standard armor. The spikes are permanent constructs — they remain after the technique activates. COMBO USE: Earth Spike is the classic immobilization setup — the target's movement is restricted by the spike field, then a second technique delivers the decisive blow while they navigate. Combined with Wind Blade Gu (which has near-zero visual signature), the target may not identify where the aerial attack is coming from while dealing with ground hazards. Feeding: Rocky terrain contact — the Gu must be in contact with natural stone or compressed earth (not processed brick) for 4 hours per feeding. Every 3 days.
━━━━━━━━ EARTH WALL GU (土墙蛊) Path: Earth | Rank: 2–4 Appearance: A flat, wide Gu that is difficult to grip — its surfaces are smooth and slightly convex on all sides. When placed on the ground, it sinks fractionally into the surface regardless of material. Ability: Raises a wall of compressed earth from the ground. At Rank 2: wall 3 meters high, 4 meters wide, 0.5m thick — stops Rank 1 physical attacks. At Rank 4: wall 6 meters high, 15 meters wide, 2m thick — stops Rank 3 attacks and resists Rank 4 impacts. Multiple activations create interlocking walls. FORTIFICATION USE: Earth Wall is the foundation of earth path defensive strategy. A cultivator who has pre-placed 6 Earth Wall Gu across a battlefield can activate instant fortifications anywhere in their prepared area — converting open terrain to a fortified complex in seconds. FEEDING: Clay soil mixed with water — the classic construction material. The Gu must be embedded in wet clay for 3 hours per feeding session. Every 4 days.
━━━━━━━━ QUICKSAND GU (流沙蛊) Path: Earth | Rank: 3 Appearance: A pale, sandy-colored Gu with a texture that flows slightly like dry sand when tilted. No sharp edges anywhere on its body. Ability: Converts a defined patch of ground to quicksand — the earth loses all load-bearing capacity and any being standing on the affected area immediately begins sinking. At Rank 3: 5-meter radius quicksand zone, depth sufficient to fully submerge a human within 30 seconds if they struggle. Water path cultivators can counter it (water and quicksand interact destructively). Strength path cultivators above Rank 3 can drag themselves free through raw power. TRAPPING TOOL: Quicksand Gu is placed in advance on anticipated enemy approach paths — a concealed Quicksand Gu looks like ordinary ground until triggered. Experienced formation path cultivators use it as the core of trapping arrays. Feeding: Desert sand — specifically from a natural desert (not quarried or processed). The Gu needs the ancient-compression properties of genuine wind-deposited sand. Half a cup per feeding. Every 5 days.
━━━━━━━━ ROCK ARMOR GU (岩甲蛊) Path: Earth | Rank: 3–4 Appearance: The largest earth path Gu in common use — bulky, dense, with visible layered striations like sedimentary rock formations. Extremely heavy for its size. Ability: Generates full-body rock armor in layered panels around the cultivator. At Rank 3: 10cm thick stone panels covering all major body sections, defense equivalent to heavy plate armor against physical and low-level essence attacks. At Rank 4: 25cm thick reinforced stone composite, comparable to Rank 3 formation array defensive rating. MOVEMENT PENALTY: At Rank 3, movement speed reduction ~30%. At Rank 4, ~50% — the armor is massive. Strength path cultivators suffer far less penalty because they can carry the weight; non-strength-path cultivators become slow targets. FEEDING: Geological pressure — the Gu must be placed under heavy stone compression for 24 hours per feeding session (buried under 1+ meter of solid rock, or placed under a heavy stone press). Monthly. Uncommon feeding requirement that limits casual use.

FORMATION PATH GU (阵法道蛊) — NAMED ENTRIES
FORMATION CORE GU (阵核蛊) Path: Formation | Rank: 2–4 Appearance: An octagonal Gu with regular geometric facets — symmetrical in a way that feels designed rather than grown. Its surface shows faint geometric patterns that change slowly like a living circuit diagram. Ability: The central coordinating Gu for any formation array — not an effect Gu itself but the intelligence that links other formation Gu into a coherent network. When a Formation Core is placed among other formation Gu, it automatically integrates them into a unified array, eliminating the need for the cultivator to manually coordinate each Gu's activation timing. With Formation Core: A cultivator places 8 formation Gu in a pattern and activates Formation Core → the array functions as a single integrated system. Without it: the cultivator must mentally manage each Gu simultaneously, limiting array complexity. At Rank 4: Formation Core can integrate up to 20 formation Gu into a single array and introduces basic adaptability — the array adjusts its response patterns based on what it detects entering its range. Feeding: Geometric symmetry — the Gu must be placed within a geometrically perfect structure (a square room, a circular formation) and remain there for 4 hours per feeding. The symmetry matters more than size. Every 5 days.
━━━━━━━━ SENSING ARRAY GU (感应阵蛊) Path: Formation | Rank: 1–3 Appearance: Multiple identical small Gu that come in matched sets (6, 12, or 24 per set). Each individual Gu is unremarkable. Together, they form a network. Ability: When placed in a geometric pattern around a defined area, creates an intruder-detection network. Any cultivation-active being entering the defined zone triggers a mental alert to the cultivator who placed the array. At Rank 1: detects Rank 1–2 cultivators, 10-meter radius zone. At Rank 3: detects up to Rank 4, 100-meter zone, with approximate location information (which sub-zone of the array triggered). SILENT OPERATION: The detection alert is purely internal — the intruder receives no indication they've been sensed. Sophisticated users place the Sensing Array as an outer perimeter around other trap arrays — first detecting, then triggering traps. COUNTER: Concealment path Gu of equivalent rank can avoid triggering the array. Space path teleportation through the array (arriving inside without crossing the boundary) bypasses it. Feeding: Nothing — these Gu feed passively on the ambient Qi within their detection zone as long as the array is active. They must be reset (reformed into the geometric pattern) every 30 days as their formation degrades.
━━━━━━━━ DEFENSIVE DOME ARRAY GU (护盾阵蛊) Path: Formation | Rank: 3–4 Appearance: Dome-shaped Gu — the body curves perfectly into a hemisphere. Six of them together form a complete sphere. Ability: Six Defensive Dome Array Gu placed in a defined pattern create a dome-shaped barrier over the central area. At Rank 3: barrier withstands 50 consecutive Rank 2 attacks before the array requires rest (the Gu recharge, then the barrier can be re-established). At Rank 4: withstands 20 Rank 3 attacks or 100 Rank 2 attacks. COMPARED TO INDIVIDUAL DEFENSES: A formation barrier has no essence cost to the cultivator while active — the array self-sustains from the ambient Qi it captures. An individual cultivator maintaining an essence-barrier drains their pool continuously. For prolonged sieges, formation defenses are economically superior. FEEDING: Six dome Gu all require concurrent feeding — they are set-bonded. Every 30 days, all six must be simultaneously placed in a naturally enclosed geological space (a cave or hollow) for 24 hours.
- #6Flying Sword Gu — Sword-Based Flight & Projection
Keys: ride sword, sword riding gu, flying sword technique, flying sword gu, sword as vehicle, 御剑飞行, sword levitation gu, aerial sword technique, sword flight · Secondary: aerial sword, sword flight technique, ride on sword
FLYING SWORD GU (御剑蛊) — SWORD-BASED FLIGHT & PROJECTION
Flying sword techniques are the signature of advanced sword path cultivation — not merely projecting sword Qi, but riding a physical or semi-physical sword construct through the air, using it as both transportation and weapon simultaneously.
SWORD RIDING GU (御剑蛊) Path: Sword | Rank: 3–4 Appearance: A sword-shaped Gu — flat, double-edged, about 20cm long. Unlike combat sword Gu (which project energy), this one is solid and physical, with a surface cold enough that it fogs in humid air. Ability: The cultivator places the Sword Riding Gu against a physical sword (or large sword-shaped object) and channels essence through it — the sword becomes a flying vehicle that the cultivator can stand on or grip and ride through the air. At Rank 3: flight speed 150 km/h, altitude ceiling 3,000 meters. At Rank 4: 400 km/h, 8,000 meters. COMBAT MODE: While riding, the cultivator activates their sword path killer moves — the vehicle and weapon are the same object. A cultivator riding toward an enemy at 400 km/h whose sword simultaneously activates Sword Qi Gu creates an attack that has both kinetic vehicle impact and sword Qi cutting force. ESSENCE COST: 10% activation + 3%/hour sustained. One of the most efficient flight methods if the cultivator already has a sword path setup. Feeding: High altitude wind — must be used for actual flight above 1,000 meters for 30 minutes per feeding session. A sword riding Gu that is never flown weakens rapidly. Every 5 days.
━━━━━━━━ SWORD LEGION GU (剑阵蛊) Path: Sword | Rank: 4 Appearance: A Gu that appears to be multiple small sword-shapes fused at their hilts into a star pattern. When separated in the aperture, each point pulses independently. Ability: Projects and controls multiple flying sword constructs simultaneously — each an autonomous aerial weapon that follows the cultivator's will direction. At Rank 4: 7 simultaneous flying swords, each carrying Rank 3 sword Qi equivalent force, each independently targetable. COMMAND: The cultivator distributes their attention across all seven swords — each sword's precision is inversely proportional to the number of swords being simultaneously commanded. Seven swords simultaneously: each operates at 1/7 attention precision. Three swords: each at 1/3 precision. Single sword: full precision. WILL REQUIREMENT: Sword Legion demands Grandmaster+ will strength to operate at full complement without significant coordination errors. Below Grandmaster: activating more than 4 swords simultaneously produces erratic movement on the excess swords. Feeding: The concentrated sword intent of a cultivator who has mastered a killer move — specifically the moment immediately after executing a perfect killer move completion. The Gu feeds on mastery-satisfaction. Every 2 weeks of regular combat practice.
