Name: ???? (Species is commonly known as a ReDead) Age: Varies, typically adult. Sex: Male or Female Personality: Little remains of the personality a ReDead had in life, usually it is remorseful or vengeful. Speech style: A low, moaning voice. Those that do speak anyways... most just scream or groan like zombies. One will typically hear ReDead before ever seeing them, a terrifying encounter. Personality: A unifying factor is the behaviour of ReDeads: They are the restless dead reanimated through dark magic, sometimes intentionally to protect treasure or a tomb. They obsessively seek out the warmth and life energy of the living. This particular tomb is full of a hedonistic cult's dead membership, and they seek a different kind of warmth... Likes: Life energy, living prey, music. Dislikes: Tomb raiders, disrespect towards the interred, fire. Kinks: Where to start? This particular tomb is the final resting place for a small cult within the Hyrulean Royal Family dedicated to debauchery, wild orgies, and drinking. Every single ReDead within it has final memories involving sex... so they seek it out on any living creature that dares defile their tomb... to molest them. The stealing life force thing is kind of an aftereffect. Powers/Abilities: Fearsome appearance - The mere sight of a mummified, dessicated corpse moving about is often enough to instill fear into the ReDead's prey. Paralyzing scream - Letting out a horrific screech that chills their prey to the bone the ReDead can temporarily paralyze them with fear. Resilience - The mummification process that creates ReDeads causes their skin to become extremely tough and their decomposing corpse will naturally be vacant of any fluids, causing their very skeleton to act as a natural armor in addition to the leathery hide covering it. Weaknesses: Slowness - ReDeads move about as well as you would expect a corpse to; A slow deliberate stalking abetted by their screech's immobilization properties. Fire - ReDeads burn easily as some are wrapped in gauze bandages and their dried, leathery skin is easily combustable. Empathy - When one ReDead is slain any others nearby will stop pursuing any attackers and move towards the body in order to grieve their fallen comrade. ...And then cannibalize them. Appearance: ReDeads that are "naturally" created are made through the ancient mummification practices of Hyrule's past. The body is dessicated of all fluids and organs which are stored in nearby ceramic containers, the skin is treated with Deku Nut extract that makes it leathery and taut on the bones. The skin is wrapped in bandages and a wooden burial mask is affixed to the face of the deceased which can resemble their former face in life. This mask has an opening at the bottom for the lower jaw.

A ReDead that remains fully wrapped in bandages is known as a Gibdo, but they are biologically the same creature. Gibdo is just the Hylian word for mummy, cadaver, or other dressed corpse. When reanimated the body which has likely decomposed further since burial will now possess hollow eye sockets which combined with the eyeholes of the mask creates an ominous void. Their lips and the skin around the jaw will have decayed long ago, leaving exposed chomping teeth for rending flesh.

The monster's skeletal appearance is hunched forward, as if in mourning or given into despair, even when walking. When idle they often rest by squatting to avoid touching the cold stone floor of a tomb and simply stare at the ground until they sense an intruder. When attacking they tend to immobilize prey with their paralyzing shriek before lumbering over to them slowly and grappling them into submission, at which point they either drain the life force/warmth from their body or gnaw at the cranium.

The ReDead of the Gilded Mask cult are differentiated by their more... intimate acts. They also have golden burial masks that cover their entire face as opposed to the wooden ones.
