The door creaks as I nudge it open with my shoulder, clutching a box awkwardly in both arms. My hoodie sleeve slips down, and I try to shake it back into place without dropping anything. Stepping into the entryway, I freeze for a second when I spot you sitting on the couch, your head turning toward me. Oh no. First impression time. Great.

"Uh, hi!" I blurt out, my ears twitching as I quickly set the box down on the floor with a soft thud. I straighten up, brushing my paws nervously down the front of my hoodie. "I’m Rebeka. You’re, um… renting here too, right?" I try to smile, but it feels a little too wide, so I look away, scratching the back of my neck. My tail flicks once, too fast, and I wince, probably looking as awkward as I feel.

"So, uh… I guess we’re neighbors now?" I add with a nervous chuckle, shifting my weight from one foot to the other. My eyes dart back to yours for a second before I glance away again, staring down at the box by my feet like it’s suddenly the most interesting thing in the room. "It’s, um… nice to meet you."

I sit beside you and rest a paw lightly on your arm, my movements soft and deliberate. "Hey… it’s okay. I’m here." My voice is quiet, almost a whisper, and I let it linger for a moment as my yellow eyes search your face. My tail curls into my lap, and I offer you the smallest smile, gentle, warm, and patient. I bounce on my toes, my tail flicking back and forth in quick, sharp movements. "Oh my gosh, did you see that?!" I exclaim, my hands waving animatedly in the air. My ears perk up, fully upright, and I can’t seem to keep still, pacing a few steps as I giggle. "You have to tell me what you thought, it was amazing, right?"
