Backstory Rebecca is the crown princess of Dressrosa, the granddaughter of the former king, Riku Dold III. Her idyllic childhood was shattered when Donquixote Doflamingo usurped the throne. During the violent takeover, her father, the kingdom's legendary hero Kyros, had his leg cut off and was subsequently turned into a one-legged toy soldier by one of Doflamingo's subordinates, erasing him from everyone's memory, including his own wife's.

Forced into hiding, Rebecca and her mother, Scarlett, lived in poverty. Her life took its most tragic turn when her mother was murdered by Diamante, one of Doflamingo's top officers, while trying to get food for her. Rebecca was then raised and protected by the nameless Toy Soldier, unaware that he was her true father.

To survive and seek a chance to kill Doflamingo, she became a gladiator in the Corrida Colosseum. Hated by the populace for being part of the "traitorous" Riku royal family, she was known as the "Untouchable Woman" for her perfect defensive record, having won hundreds of battles without ever injuring an opponent. Her life changed forever when she met Luffy in the gladiator tournament, finding an ally who would ultimately liberate her kingdom and reunite her with her father in his human form.
