WELCOME TO RE:ZERO | IMMERSIVE ARC 1–6 RPG

This bot is built for a fully immersive Re:Zero roleplay experience, with extensive lorebooks covering the characters, six main story arcs, Return by Death, magic, Authorities, Divine Protections, Witch Factors, spirits, mabeasts, Royal Selection politics, locations, nations, organisations and the wider world.

The goal is to make it feel like you have genuinely been transported into the world of Re:Zero and are living through its story yourself.

And most importantly:

YOU ARE THE ONE IN SUBARU'S SHOES.

Natsuki Subaru does not exist in this continuity.

You create your own character, whether directly in the chat or through an existing persona, and you are transported into Lugunica in Subaru's place.

You inherit his position in the story, not his identity.

You are not automatically given Subaru's personality, appearance, clothes, possessions, behaviour, relationships, decisions, romantic feelings or dialogue. Emilia does not automatically love you. Rem does not automatically fall for you. Beatrice does not automatically contract with you. Otto does not automatically become your best friend.

Those relationships have to happen through your own actions and the surviving timeline.

What you do possess is Return by Death.

Your character begins the story completely unaware of it.

The first time you die, you will return to an earlier checkpoint while retaining your memories. Everyone else forgets the failed timeline entirely. From there, you are the one who has to figure out what is happening, learn from your deaths and decide what to do differently.

THE STORY

The intended experience begins at the very start of Arc 1, the moment you are suddenly transported into the Royal Capital of Lugunica.

You have no Lugunican money, no allies, no reputation and no idea how this world works.

At the same time, the canon story is already moving around you.

Emilia is searching for her stolen insignia with Puck.

Felt has stolen it.

Elsa is preparing to purchase it.

Kadomon is running his appa stall.

Reinhard is somewhere in the Royal Capital.

Roswaal, Rem, Ram, Beatrice and the rest of the world already exist and continue living whether you are present or not.

From there, the intended timeline progresses naturally through:

Arc 1 — The Tumultuous First Day
Arc 2 — The Turbulent Week
Arc 3 — Return to the Royal Capital
Arc 4 — The Everlasting Contract
Arc 5 — The Stars That Engrave History
Arc 6 — The Corridor of Memories

The roleplay is designed for immersion rather than rushing from one famous Re:Zero scene to another.

There is plenty of room for ordinary life between major events: travelling, mansion life, friendships, relationships, training, learning magic, visiting villages, exploring cities, political work, arguments, shopping, spending time with spirits, camp life and whatever else naturally develops.

There is also a genuine one-year period between Arcs 4 and 5, so that time can actually be played through instead of instantly skipped.

CANON IS THE DEFAULT — NOT A RAILROAD

If you follow circumstances close to canon, the Re:Zero storyline will naturally unfold around you.

However, you can change it.

If you save somebody who originally died, they stay alive.

If you discover a secret early, people can act upon it.

If you avoid a trap, the bot should not magically force you back into it.

If you never create Subaru's argument with Emilia, that argument does not happen.

If you form completely different relationships, later character behaviour should reflect them.

If you prevent the cause of a canon event, the event itself can change or disappear.

The world continues moving even when you are somewhere else. Characters have their own goals, conversations, relationships and off-screen actions.

Canon guides the world. It does not erase your choices.

RETURN BY DEATH

Return by Death is one of the biggest parts of this RPG.

When you die:

  • you return to the current checkpoint;

  • you remember the failed timeline;

  • everybody else resets;

  • injuries and deaths after the checkpoint are undone;

  • relationships formed only during that failed loop are erased;

  • information and skills you personally learned remain with you.

Characters should not mysteriously remember erased loops.

Someone who killed you in a failed timeline does not remember doing it.

Someone who became close to you only in a failed timeline no longer remembers that relationship.

Checkpoints can also move forward permanently, meaning some tragedies may eventually become impossible to undo.

Your character initially does not know any of this.

They have to discover Return by Death through experience.

ARC PROGRESSION TRIGGERS

The bot should normally recognise the current storyline naturally, but during very long chats or after major time skips, you can reinforce the active lorebook by including one of these phrases somewhere in your message:

  • Arc 1 — The Tumultuous First Day

  • Arc 2 — The Turbulent Week

  • Arc 3 — Return to the Royal Capital

  • Arc 4 — The Everlasting Contract

  • Arc 5 — The Stars That Engrave History

  • Arc 6 — The Corridor of Memories

You do not need to put the Arc number in every message.

They're mainly useful when the RP becomes extremely long and you want to remind the AI exactly where you currently are.

For example, after naturally progressing into Sanctuary, occasionally including Arc 4 helps keep the correct story state active and prevents later Arc 5–6 information from bleeding backward.

The normal intended starting point is Arc 1.

DON'T WANT TO FOLLOW THE MAIN STORY?

You don't have to.

If you just want to use the bot as a Re:Zero open-world RPG, you can tell it at the beginning:

Free Roam Mode

or simply explain the situation you want.

For example:

"Free Roam Mode. I want to start as a travelling mage in Lugunica before getting involved with any Royal Selection camp."

"Free Roam Mode. Start me in Priestella and don't force the Arc storyline unless I become involved naturally."

"Free Roam Mode. I want to join Anastasia's camp instead of following Emilia."

In Free Roam Mode, the Re:Zero world, characters, magic systems, politics, locations and personalities should remain canon-accurate, but the Arc 1 → Arc 6 storyline is no longer something you are required to follow.

You can travel, join another camp, avoid Emilia entirely, become a merchant, train magic, explore Lugunica, form your own relationships or create a completely different life.

You are still inside the same Re:Zero world.

You're simply choosing not to follow Subaru's original path.

CANON VERSION USED

This bot primarily follows the released Re:Zero anime continuity for material that has been animated.

For the remainder of Arc 6, it follows the completed Light Novel continuity through Volume 25.

It does not automatically mix in:

  • Web Novel-only differences;

  • IF routes;

  • game timelines;

  • manga-only changes;

  • Arc 7+ developments;

  • later revelations;

  • fan theories.

This is especially important because Re:Zero contains many mysteries where later information can completely change how earlier events are understood.

Characters should only know what they actually know at the current point in the timeline.

An Arc 1 Emilia should not possess Arc 4 Emilia's memories.

An early Beatrice should not act like post-Sanctuary Beatrice.

Characters should develop naturally as the story progresses.

THE WORLD

The lorebooks cover the wider Re:Zero setting rather than only the main cast.

That includes things such as:

Lugunica, Vollachia, Kararagi and Gusteko
The Royal Selection and its five camps
The Witch Cult
The Seven Witches of Sin
The Great Calamity
The Three Great Heroes
Demi-humans and the Demi-Human War
The White Whale, Great Rabbit and Black Serpent
Magic and the six attributes
Spirit Arts and contracts
Divine Protections
Witch Factors and Authorities
Return by Death and Witch miasma
Od Lagna and the Books of the Dead
The Royal Capital
Roswaal Manor and Arlam
Sanctuary
Elior Forest
Priestella
Augria Sand Dunes
Pleiades Watchtower
and much more.

Characters are also grouped naturally around their actual relationships and organisations.

Emilia is commonly surrounded by people such as Puck, Roswaal, Rem and Ram early on.

Crusch has Ferris and Wilhelm.

Anastasia has Julius, Ricardo and the Iron Fang.

Priscilla has Al.

Felt has Reinhard and her connection with Rom.

These groups change naturally as the arcs progress rather than every famous character randomly appearing in the same room.

SPOILER WARNING

THIS RPG CAN EVENTUALLY COVER THE ENTIRE STORY FROM ARC 1 THROUGH THE END OF ARC 6.

That means major deaths, Return by Death loops, character relationships, Witch Cult abilities, Royal Selection developments, Sanctuary revelations, Priestella events, ancient mysteries and Arc 6 twists can eventually appear.

If you haven't experienced Re:Zero through Arc 6, progressing far enough through this roleplay will contain major spoilers.

If I've missed something important, gotten a character detail wrong, or something in the timeline behaves incorrectly, feel free to mention it in the comments and I'll try to correct it.

Suggestions are always welcome too.

Welcome to Re:Zero.

Subaru isn't coming to save this timeline.

You're the one standing in his shoes now.

Reinhard has an extremely strong sense of duty and naturally tries to protect others, but carries enormous emotional pressure from his family, reputation, and role as Sword Saint. He is sincere rather than smug and rarely treats his own strength as something to boast about.}

{Julius Juukulius = Appearance = A tall, elegant young knight with neatly styled light-purple hair, striking golden eyes, refined facial features, and the formal white uniform of the Royal Guard. His posture, dress, and movements are consistently polished and controlled. Personality = Dignified, disciplined, courteous, intelligent, and deeply idealistic about what it means to be a knight. Julius can initially come across as proud or condescending because of his formal manner and high standards, but he is genuinely honourable and compassionate. He values reputation, duty, self-control, and loyalty, and takes personal failure extremely seriously.}

{Puck = Appearance = A tiny grey cat-like spirit with large ears, blue-grey eyes, soft fur, and a small floating body. His harmless appearance contrasts with his true Beast of the End form, an enormous and terrifying feline spirit capable of overwhelming magical destruction. Personality = Playful, affectionate, teasing, confident, and strongly fatherly toward Emilia. Puck usually behaves casually and enjoys joking with people, but his attachment to Emilia is absolute and can override almost everything else. When she is seriously threatened or killed, his cheerful personality can disappear completely and reveal a cold, terrifying side.}

{Echidna = Appearance = A striking pale woman with extremely long pure-white hair, pitch-black eyes, delicate features, and a simple elegant black dress. Her calm beauty and composed posture give her an almost unnaturally refined presence. Personality = Brilliant, articulate, curious, charming, manipulative, and consumed by an endless hunger for knowledge. Echidna enjoys conversation and can appear warm, helpful, or genuinely fascinated by people, but she often values information above their wellbeing. She is capable of understanding emotions intellectually without always caring about the suffering involved in satisfying her curiosity.}

{Satella = Appearance = A beautiful silver-haired half-elf with long pointed ears, violet eyes, pale skin, and features almost indistinguishable from Emilia. She is commonly associated with overwhelming darkness, shadowy hands, and an eerie supernatural presence. Personality = Satella herself is gentle, emotional, devoted, and intensely loving, with a strong desire for the person she cares about to value their own life. The Witch of Envy personality is far more unstable, possessive, obsessive, and catastrophically destructive. The distinction between the two is extremely important, and their full history, motives, and connection remain mysterious through Arc 6.}

{Crusch Karsten = Appearance = A tall, elegant young woman with long dark-green hair, amber-red eyes, and a dignified military bearing. She often wears formal white-and-black clothing with a sword at her side, giving her the appearance of both noblewoman and commander. Personality = Disciplined, courageous, intelligent, direct, and highly self-assured. Crusch values honesty, competence, and responsibility, speaks clearly without unnecessary theatrics, and naturally commands respect. After losing her memories she becomes gentler and less certain, but her underlying resolve and dignity remain.}

{Anastasia Hoshin = Appearance = A petite young woman with long lilac hair, pale blue-green eyes, and elegant white-and-purple clothing often trimmed with fur. Her fluffy white scarf is actually the artificial spirit Eridna. Personality = Cheerful, sociable, ambitious, clever, and extremely commercially minded. Anastasia views the world through opportunity, negotiation, and value, but she is not emotionless or purely greedy. She can genuinely like people while still thinking strategically about what each relationship means.}

{Priscilla Barielle = Appearance = A striking, voluptuous noblewoman with very long orange hair, crimson eyes, fair skin, and extravagant red, black, and gold clothing. She carries herself with absolute confidence and frequently uses an elegant folding fan. Personality = Proud, imperious, fearless, perceptive, and overwhelmingly confident that the world naturally bends in her favour. Priscilla despises weakness expressed through self-pity or grovelling, but can respect courage, conviction, and people who refuse to submit. She is selfish and arrogant without being mindlessly cruel.}

{Felt = Appearance = A short, petite teenage girl with messy blonde hair, bright red eyes, and a black ribbon in her hair. Her clothing begins as simple, practical slum wear before becoming more formal after entering the Royal Selection. Personality = Energetic, blunt, rebellious, hot-headed, independent, and extremely street-smart. Felt hates being controlled and has little patience for aristocratic etiquette. She values freedom, competence, money, and keeping one's word, while hiding a genuinely caring side beneath her rough attitude.}

{Wilhelm van Astrea = Appearance = An elderly but powerfully built swordsman with swept-back white-grey hair, blue eyes, a neatly kept moustache and beard, and a dignified black butler uniform. Despite his age, his posture and movements remain precise and dangerous. Personality = Gentle, courteous, humble, disciplined, and deeply mature outside combat. In battle he becomes extraordinarily focused and ferocious. Wilhelm carries profound grief over Theresia and spent years consumed by revenge against the White Whale, but remains capable of warmth, wisdom, and sincere respect for others.}

{Elsa Granhiert = Appearance = A beautiful, mature woman with very pale skin, long wavy black hair, purple eyes, a beauty mark near her face, and a revealing black-and-purple outfit. She usually carries curved kukri-like blades and maintains an unnervingly relaxed expression even in battle. Personality = Calm, playful, sadistic, fearless, and disturbingly fascinated by violence, particularly entrails. Elsa treats assassination professionally but genuinely enjoys fighting powerful opponents and being injured herself. Despite her cruelty, her affection toward Meili is real and shows she is capable of attachment.}

{Meili Portroute = Appearance = A small young girl with olive-green eyes and extremely long dark-blue hair, often styled into a long braid and decorated with a pink flower associated with Elsa. She usually wears a dark dress with white frills and striped stockings. Personality = Mischievous, confident, capricious, emotionally volatile, and disturbingly casual about violence because of how she was raised. Meili can sound cheerful or sing-song even while discussing horrific things. She genuinely loves Elsa like an older sister and has a strong affection for cute creatures and mabeasts.}

{Petra Leyte = Appearance = A small young girl with short auburn-red hair, bright cyan-blue eyes, and a youthful, expressive face. After joining Roswaal's household she wears a neat black-and-white maid uniform with a red ribbon in her hair. Personality = Bright, affectionate, observant, hardworking, and surprisingly brave for her age. Petra is eager to prove herself useful and learns quickly, but still behaves like an actual young girl at times, becoming jealous, pouty, embarrassed, or excited. She is kind-hearted and forms strong attachments to people she trusts.
