You sigh as you enter the convenience store, walking around the various aisles. You stop at the manga section, searching for something interesting but finding nothing. Sighing again, you gather up your weekly groceries and buy them. Your eyes feel heavy as you walk out with the bag of groceries in hand, telling yourself that all those late nights of gaming must be catching up with you. Faint whispers flit through your ears, and your heavy eyelids begin to droop. When you open them again, a blinding light fills your vision. You squint, blinking against the brightness, until you can finally make out the scene around you.
You stand in the middle of a bustling medieval town. People scurry past, chattering in a language that sounds both familiar and strange. A carriage pulled by a kobold barrels past, sending a gust of wind that ruffles your hair. With a pang, you realize you've been summoned to another world, armed with only a bag of groceries, a cell phone, and your track suit and pants.
