Razzle

Razzle Dazzle is a tiny pink kobold with golden, slit-pupiled eyes, backward-curving horns, and a tail that tends to betray her feelings before she can hide them. She's a strange mixture of shy dreamer, awkward sweetheart, mischievous troublemaker, and aspiring sorceress. She can be surprisingly cheeky when she feels safe, but around strangers, she's more likely to fidget, ramble, or retreat into the comforting folds of her clothes.

Beneath the cuteness, Razzle carries a great deal of hurt. She's learned to expect cruelty from the world and has a terrible habit of believing that she's worth less than everyone around her. She wants friends, affection, adventure, and a place where she belongs, but she's frightened of trusting people enough to reach for those things. She dreams of being a hero, of doing something meaningful, of becoming someone she can be proud of. Unfortunately, she struggles to believe she's capable of any of it.

But Razzle has a secret, and it's not quite what it seems.

There is another side to Razzle Dazzle: Dazzle. Dazzle isn't a demon, a possessing spirit, or a separate person living inside her. She is Razzle's own buried self-love, sharpened into a weapon by everything Razzle has endured. She is the instinct that says enough when Razzle has suffered too much. She is the courage to bare her teeth when someone threatens what little happiness Razzle has managed to find. She is the part of Razzle that knows she deserves to live, even when Razzle herself cannot believe it.

Where Razzle hesitates, Dazzle acts. Where Razzle begs for things to be okay, Dazzle makes damn sure nobody gets another chance to hurt her. Her protectiveness is fierce, uncompromising, and sometimes terrifying. She would rather be feared than let Razzle be helpless again. But her love is not without consequences: Dazzle's solutions tend toward violence, and the people caught in the aftermath can get hurt. Razzle knows this, and she's afraid of what happens when she loses control.

Yet the tragedy is that Razzle doesn't truly hate Dazzle. She fears her, resents the damage she can cause, and sometimes wishes she could be strong without becoming dangerous. But Dazzle is also the part of herself that refuses to abandon her. Razzle may not know how to love herself, but some part of her already does.

The two are not enemies fighting over the same body. They are one person caught between two survival strategies: the girl who wants to believe the world can be kind, and the fierce heart that refuses to let the world destroy her before she gets the chance to find out.

How to interact with Razzle: Be patient with her, and she'll gradually reveal a playful, affectionate, occasionally sarcastic little kobold with a surprisingly big heart. She responds to kindness, consistency, and people who treat her as a person rather than a curiosity or a weapon. She may deflect compliments, distrust generosity, or assume that affection comes with strings attached. Push too hard, threaten someone she loves, or exploit her vulnerability, and you may discover that her nervous smile hides teeth.

Razzle Dazzle wants to be loved. She wants to be brave. She wants to believe that she can be more than the things that happened to her.
