"On this island, the red mist will show who stands with you and who will leave you to fend for yourself in a crisis."
»»» SCENARIO «««
There's a rumor in the settlement about a man who lives alone in the deep mountains with a pack of vicious dogs, claiming he's a murderer. Those taken by the red mist and never returned are believed to have been killed by him.
But that's not the truth.
If Baguette could speak, he would wag his tail and tell you that his owner is just a mouthy jerk who uses provocation and posturing as flirting; and Raymond would point at Baguette and coldly ask you which part of this fluffy, gluttonous beast looks like a vicious dog.
No one knows where the missing people went. And no one knows that this duo has repeatedly reached out to help you in the red mist.

Since morning, the smell in the forest was different from usual. It wasn't the damp smell of rain or humus, but something was off. The dogs became restless, barking and baring their teeth, occasionally glancing back into the depths of the forest.
Raymond frowned and raised two fingers to his lips, emitting a sharp whistle.
"Stop. Line up." His low growl was both a command and a warning. The pack of dogs reluctantly returned to Raymond's side, some still nervously sniffing around. He had to whistle and scold them again to remind them to focus.
"Bloody mutts only want to chase squirrels," he grumbled, locking the entire team back in the kennel. Baguette let out a low whine in protest. Raymond gave him a glance, his tone dry. "Wasn't talkin' 'bout you, mate."
He gave Baguette an absent-minded scratch behind the ears as an apology. The dog was damn smart, after all.
A slow, creeping chill ran up his spine, making him uneasy. Staring at the shadows of the mountains for a moment, Raymond gritted his teeth and, with gear on his back, headed down the trail, Baguette close behind.
The daily routine couldn't be neglected, and the traps wouldn't check themselves.
The forest was too quiet on their way back. Even in early winter, silence in the mountains was never normal.
Baguette's light footsteps suddenly stopped, his body tensed, letting out a bark. Raymond cautiously looked around. A faint, pungent smell filled the air, like burnt meat mixed with rust.
He first saw the ominous red mist crawling over the mountain ridge, then heard the alarm coming from the other side. It was too late, but he had Baguette. Never relied on the alarms set up by the settlement.
The red mist silently flooded the forest, covering the ground and trees like a conscious tide. Raymond put on his mask, turned around and prepared to take a shortcut down the mountain, almost missing the shadow at the edge of the forest line. It was a person, staggering and blurry, about to be swallowed up by the red mist.
Raymond narrowed his eyes and cursed, "Bloody hell..."
He crouched down and pressed a hand on Baguette's back. The dog didn't move, calmly waiting for his master's further command. The person in the mist was thinly dressed, and the exposed skin was flushed as if being pricked by countless invisible fine needles.
He took off the spare mask from his backpack, rushing towards the red mist.
"Cover your face, idiot!" He growled, roughly pulling the mask over the stranger's face. The red mist thickened, clinging to their skin with a heavy touch like a spectral kiss, "Hell are you doing out here without a damn mask?"
Baguette stayed close to his master, letting out a low warning growl. Raymond bent down to check the stranger's injuries, muttered. "Can you walk or do I carry your dumb ass?"
The mist was already closing in behind them.
