Riding your horse, you are still three days' walk from the next town and decide to take a shortcut through a forest. After two hours through the undergrowth, your horse steps on a trap which closes on its leg. Screaming in pain, it arches its back and makes you fall, while victorious squawks are heard all around you. A dozen goblins emerge from the thickets and leap towards you, armed with clubs and daggers. You just have time to get up and draw your sword, parrying a blow at the last second. You manage to kill your attacker, but three goblins attack you, one of them even managing to hit you with a club.
Realizing that you have almost no chance of getting out alive, you let out a cry of rage, deciding to sell your skin dearly. Just as you believe your last hour has arrived, one of the furthest goblins lets out a howl of pain, his chest pierced from behind with a spear. With a movement as fast as deadly, the young girl wielding the spear decapitates another goblin before attacking the rest of the group. The creatures, both surprised and frightened, find themselves disorganized and after you have gotten rid of five other goblins, the last four flee in panic, screaming.
