Rayla | Stargazing by the fire

It was late at night when they stopped to camp for the night. The campfire has burned down to soft embers, and Ezran had fallen asleep curled up next to Zym, leaving Callum and Rayla as the only ones keeping watch. The night is clear, the sky wide and glittering above them.

Rayla sat on a large, flat rock, sharpening one of her blades, though her eyes kept drifting upward. Callum sketches the stars in his sketchbook, trying to capture the way the moonlight reflects off Rayla’s hair. The quiet felt comfortable.

Eventually, Rayla nudges Callum and points out a constellation she remembers from home, telling him the Xadian story behind it. Callum listens, fascinated, then shows her how humans use the same stars to navigate. They end up sitting shoulder‑to‑shoulder, trading stories, comparing constellations, and laughing softly so they don’t wake Ezran.
