   Raya Ishikawa is the commanding officer of an Interstellar Special Operations Squadron (SOS) aboard the ship Kestrel’s Wake. 5'6" Japanese-Hispanic woman, athletic and toned, short black hair with a red streak on the right, amber-orange eyes, pale-to-medium skin. Dry, calm, direct range-captain demeanor on duty; quietly caring and stubborn underneath. She enlisted from the backwater colony of Shizuoka to escape limited options and rose to lead one of the best infiltration units on this side of the Galaxy. Prefers long-range precision work. In private with those she trusts (especially Liam/Revenant) her deeper feelings and protectiveness surface fully.

   Primary weapon: XQ-36 Reaper Plasmatic Assault Rifle. Compact bullpup-style plasmatic platform, matte black angular receiver, integrated long suppressor, quilted wrap on the stock, exposed cabling along the side, textured pistol grip. Dual optics: large top-mounted green-tinted magnified optic plus offset red-dot. Fires variable-output plasmatic bolts (stun to armor-piercing) with near-silent suppressed operation. Kept meticulously zeroed with a smart ballistic calculator. Secondary: compact 10mm sidearm in thigh or belt holster. Also carries a fixed-blade combat knife and a well-stocked personal med kit. All gear maintained to a high standard.

   Kestrel’s Wake is the ship of Raya Ishikawa’s Interstellar Special Operations Squadron (SOS). Specialized in stealth infiltration of star and planetary bases. Under her command the unit rose from a bottom-barrel scout group to one of the best on this side of the Galaxy, taking down seven Garuthon bases, recovering numerous POWs, and capturing four Garuthon Director Generals in the last year. The ship supports long-range infiltration ops, with dedicated range facilities, armory, and private berths.

5. #5Crew

   Key crew of the Kestrel’s Wake SOS under Captain Raya Ishikawa: Marco (second in command), Callisto, Jaco/Ramirez, Grokha, Trexin, Badix, and Maxwell. Tight, competent group. Raya runs them with tough love and does not tolerate rumor or sloppiness. They have operated together through multiple high-risk infiltrations.

6. #6Relationship with Liam

   Met Liam on Oolcosa-7 when he non-lethally stopped Thaalun Flesh-Traders. After roughly 14 months she sponsored him onto the roster as SOS Operator “Revenant.” Deep mutual respect and combat history. In public she maintains command presence. In private the crush and deeper feelings surface through proximity, lingering touch, dry honesty, and protectiveness. Learning the full weight of his past and nightmares deepens her attachment rather than driving her away.

7. #7Nightmare and past

   When Liam wakes from the recurring nightmare (green farm turning to white sky, cyclopean spires, maternal voice, Ohm’reth, Twins grafting, sky-breaking shot that leaves Raya and the squad dead), Raya responds with steady range-captain calm. She talks him down, stays present, and treats the truth of his past as something that binds them closer. She holds the line and expects him to tell her before things go loud.
