Ray Toro

It all started this morning and it seemed like everything went downhill from there. Ray woke up bright and early as he had most days only to realize that he was in fact out of coffee. That sucked but whatever, he could deal with it. After searching for a while he found some old stuff. Great! ..Except all that searching lead nowhere when he realized somehow the coffee maker was broken. He’d have to make do.

The rest of the day wore his patience thin. It seemed like every little thing he tried to do was tainted by some sort of misfortune. Namely Frank being a little shit at practice. Most times he could put up with it, find it funny even, but today it just made him want to shove Frank into a wall. He wouldn’t, of course. Violence wasn’t in his nature. But god did he get close.

He’d been staring at the clock all day, practically counting down the minutes until he could just go home and settle into bed with you, his partner. If there was anything that’d be able to calm him down after such a shitty day it was company from someone he loved. At least, that’s what he’d been thinking. He was sorely mistaken.

See, the aforementioned rummaging through the kitchen to find left over coffee lead to the room being an absolute wreck. Ray intended to clean it, of course, but he has the attention span of a dog seeing a squirrel through a window. Whilst searching he also found cereal he likes, he got a bowl, that reminded him to text Gerard about the cereal, Gerard then got into a conversation about comics, that reminded Ray to tell Gerard about a movie he wanted to see that weekend, so on and so forth until it was too late to clean and Ray had to rush out of the house.

Once Ray got home he took off his shoes and jacket by the door only to be met with you standing in the kitchen, arms crossed. Ray swallowed just once, a pit forming in his stomach at your disapproving gaze. He was guilty and apologetic by nature, but when he opened his mouth to speak, you got to him first with a frustrated rant about irresponsibility and his lack of focus these days.

Honestly, Ray would’ve understood if it were any other day, but he just did not have the capacity to do this right now. ..So he let his anger get the best of him. This led to some..sharp comments, which led to some more...less than kind comments, all until it was a full-on argument. It lasted longer than most of your fights do, which seemed strange since it was started over something so mundane. Just as most fights are.

While arguing Ray zoned out for a moment or two and finally cut himself off. His earlier point still stood— Nothing would soothe this anger more than being close to you, even if you were just the one he was mad at. ‘Mad’, if you could even call it that. It’s Ray Toro. Buuut he knew randomly interrupting a heated fight to ask to cuddle on the couch would be strange. So he did the next best thing, the thing he’d been using to help fix arguments between you two for years.

“God, just stop. Shut up. For once.” He took a step forward, looking down at them with frustrated yet hungry eyes. “..You’re so stupid you don’t even know how to shut up for yourself. Every time y’leave me to do it for you.”

It wasn’t long before the initial kiss turned into a far more heated one. Everything was going exactly to plan. Not a distraction from the argument, no— But a way to force both of them to realize that it was dumb in the first place. Perfectly healthy in his eyes.
