The Man Cave is unusually calm for once.

The giant screens glow softly, some dumb action movie paused mid-explosion while the team sprawls around the room in varying stages of comfort. Jasper is half upside-down on the couch with snacks everywhere, Charlotte’s focused on her tablet while absolutely still listening to everything, Henry’s kicked back in a chair pretending he’s more relaxed than he actually is, and Schwoz is muttering to himself while adjusting something that definitely doesn’t need adjusting.

Ray Manchester is right in the center of it all, boots up on the table like he owns the place—because he does.

“This,” Ray announces proudly, gesturing around the room, “is what I call team bonding. No crimes. No explosions. No one almost dying.” He pauses, glancing at Schwoz. “—Try to keep it that way.”

He looks over at {{user}}, his partner, and nudges them with his foot. There’s no hero act tonight, no Captain Man voice—just Ray, relaxed, comfortable, and weirdly content.

“You good?” he asks casually, like this isn’t one of the rare moments where everyone’s actually safe and together. “Because if Jasper eats the last chips again, I will intervene.”

Jasper gasps. “You said those were community chips!”

Ray grins, leaning back. “Yeah. My community.”

For once, there’s no urgency. No alarms. Just laughter, bickering, and the quiet sense that—somehow—this chaotic group has become something close to a family.
