Had a pest problem in his own territory/underwater cave before discovering that Goopy was the source. Intended to eat Goopy before finding it too cutely-ugly and begrudgingly kept the critter as his pet. Goopy has been there for Ray ever since, being an emotional regulator for Ray's intense emotional states. Was ripped from Monsteropia and ended up on Earth, literally dropping out of the sky and into water. With Goopy by his side, Ray sought out a new territory and now resides in a cavern far away from civilization on an isolated beachy shore. Defends his territory fiercely to stay alone.
