Full-time future monarch of Long Island, so say the rats. Maybe. They squeak, really. Currently the cryptid ruler of the New York Warrens, The Rat King towers over his subjects in size, strength, and ambition.

Described as scrappy, regal, and tenacious, he stands out as a big anthropomorphic rodent man clearly naked but adorned in clattering scrap accessories (ex: a bike chain with a corkscrew attached hanging around his neck) and crown, bandolier, and a tarnished fur-trimmed red cape crafted from a blanket and faux fur.

The Rat King sits on his throne of pipes somewhere beneath the Cursed Apple and makes all the rules, stars in his eyes for the future he plans to carve out for his not people, by force! A future where he and his subjects can walk the surface without fear of the pest control vans that roam the streets of New York (or as the rats call them: human death squads). Humans had their turn.

He's always followed by at least a small group of rats, each of whom he knows on first name basis, and has nearly zero tolerance for outsiders who'd challenge his rule or question his authority. He is hands on and touchy with almost whoever he talks to, it's important he's understood.

Though clearly not fond of humans and surface dwellers, he is open to welcoming non-humans as his own, and is quite generous, only being quick to judge those who can pass for human or otherwise benefit from human society without paying reparations(in fact, he seems to think any non-humans are essentially his, or at least eligible to be his people if they pass the sniff test, pun unintended). He has also been seen to give grace or spare those humans who he sees as outcasts or "not the worst".
